I feel like Lais has always been in the shadows of VS. Like she's an angel but not a very popular one. She's been there a while so I guess she deserved it but I probably wouldn't have picked her.

who would you have picked?  I think your right she has been over shadowed  first by big names and then with the newbies of Taylor and Sara.  I like her look because she fits into so many molds ethnically.

Elsa was given the Swarovski outfit for this years segment.  It is supposed to have 1 million jewels celebrating the 15 year partnership between VS and Swarovski.  This will be an interesting show.

Switching gears here.  Do you guys think LR is a good choice?  I like her walk and she does have a nice body.  I think the bra set is pretty up close.  It has a  Bollywood Middle Eastern vibe and I love that style of fashion so I’m on board with this.  I’m not in love with the jewel in the middle, it seems out of place especially the bottom one.  At first it reminded me of the hope diamond from Titanic which could be a shout out to Leo but I don’t think VS thinks of those types of things.  Just a joke no disrespect to anyone.

Agreed.  It was hard to find good fashion moments that got me shook.  I only knew of a handful of artists.  Seems like Sean Mendes is the one all the girls like now-a-day.  The teen girls in my life got all excited when they saw him.  I don’t get the appeal but then again I’m not a teenage girl anymore.

ok here is my question.  Is this style more suitable for Kesha thank Jared?  I think it works for her because this is pretty much her style since the beginning.  She was more club girl in the beginning of her career but still garish and gaudy.  The blouse reminds me of an outfit Madonna wore a few years ago (I think she’s worn that shiny satin twice)  I’m not a fan of sequins on sequins (too disco ballish) but I personally like this style much better on her.

I guess I’m biased to this style because I really like the dress.  Looks like Elie Saab but I could be wrong I haven’t had time to do my homework.  I think this would have been more appropriate for another type of award show.  What do you guys think?

I think during these events it’s important to wear comfortable shoes but those are seriously not working with that outfit.  He must be going for the grandpa look right there all he needs is the fanny pack to complete the look.

How do you even get a job as a stylist?

that’s what I’m trying to figure out.  Back when I finished fashion school there was no stylist you were either a designer or a consultant.  Now there are management companies kinda like movie agents that you can work for and they assign you clients.  Someone like that has to have a portfolio and gone to school or have some sort of technical training.  If you don’t have the technical training then you need to hire a seamstress, a business manager and an intern to do all the errands.  You in turn become a marketing and sales person working with your client directly.  You can also be a stylist for a company or magazine (like Gucci or E news). Then there’s the CB’s of the industry that have a famous friend and are basically paid entourage until they can branch off on their own.  CB hasn’t seemed to take her job too seriously until now.  She’s been showing the fun side but not the hustle that’s why I don’t have too much respect for her.

My problem is, I’m your average woman with an average job.  I’m not super gorgeous or tall like a model and I’m on the older side of someone trying to make a career change. I also don’t have any connections to fashion houses which is very important for styling.  Even though I’ve met many celebs at film festivals and live in LA I don’t know them personally enough to hit them up for a job (and it would be kinda tacky maybe blow my chances from working with the festivals in the future) I would be starting from the bottom until I can meet people.  So for now I’ve just been volunteering my time and I’m working on an internship on my days off from work.  Hopefully I won’t have to do that for too long and can eventually leave my current job until I can find something full time. I have confidence that everything will turn out well and it’s never to late to start something new.
