Thank you so much to everyone who shared this around trying to help me find it and an especially huge thank you to @collieii and the person who was messaging me anonymously trying to help me with this!! I am once again reminded why I always loved the tumblr community so much. <3

DESPERATELY in search of: specific long OLD Peterick fic

I realize it may be weird to call into the abyss on this defunct blog but I am desperately in search of a fanfic that ruined my life many years ago and I wanted to revisit because I loved it so much. I’m pretty confident it was posted on live journal (but for some reason I think it was cross posted to A03 somewhere along the lines? MAYBE?)

Details I remember from the fic:

-Pete gifted Patrick a blue guitar (for Christmas? I think?) that matched his eyes perfectly (this was a recurring mention but happened early on)

-Patrick initially refused to perform Saturday because Pete wrote it about him losing his virginity LOL

-followed fall out boy from the beginning and worked through the timeline of then being a band up until the time that would be when Pete and Ashlee got married irl

-Pete and Patrick were together at the beginning of the fic and end but mostly separated in the middle and the fic mentioned other relationships they had (real, speculative, and fake)

-after the Honda civic tour Pete was with Mikey Way at one point and Patrick had a thing with Bob Bryar

anYWAY! I would be so so so appreciative if anyone knows what I’m talking about and could help me track it down! Please let me know if this sounds familiar to you and you know where I could find it!

I’ve spent half a week trying to find this but I haven’t even caught a whisper on the wind of it 😭

follow up re: peterick fic - do you remember if it was explicit? i like digging for old fics/pics so im happy to take a look and see what i find <3

This sounds ridiculous to say but while there’s so many other details that stick out in my mind but not that one. I THINK there were a couple explicit scenes, but if there was explicit content, it was not frequent or the main focus!

I know they were together toward the beginning of the fic, separated “for the good of the band” kind of thing as they were getting to be more successful, then ended up back together WAY later (Pete and Ashlee did not actually end up getting married in this world of this fic)

If I think of any other key details, I’ll post them! I really appreciate any help digging, so thank you so much!!

hi! re: the peterick fic, do you remember *when* you read it? like what year you found it or at least your best guess

My best guess: I probably read it first in probably 2014? But I read it again sometime in maybe 2016-2018??

If it’s helpful at all, I’m guessing based on where the focus of the fic was, some of the references made and where the fic completed that is was probably finished between late 2008 at earliest and 2010 at the latest. Of course it could have been written later but the events of the fic ended around when Pete and Ashlee would have gotten married which makes me think it was written around that time.

It was however a looooong fic so the writer could have started earlier, I would just guess no earlier than 2007/8 just because of how well plotted the timeline to the ending was. (I think they would’ve known going into it that’s how it was going to wrap! But who knows for sure.)
