Teddy contemplated if Miss Rumphius visited Lake Pukaki when he found these Lupines by the shore. Then, he found himself pondering if these invasive flowers do indeed bring a little more beauty to the world.

what is very annoying about the vast majority of batfam fans is the very surface level approach they take towards calling out racism in dc canon and fandom. yes, you want damian to be brown in the comics but do you care about how his mother’s character was butchered due to post 9/11 anti-arab racism? yes, you want cass and duke to be featured more prominently in comics but would you be okay with them displacing your own faves in order to do so? do you even read the comics they ARE featured in, or are you content with just reblogging their one panel cameos from your fave’s solos, extolling how much you “love” them (so long as they are second fiddle, that is)? you want jason or dick (whichever you prefer) to co-parent lian, all the while sidelining jade - you are content relegating jade and talia and shado and shiva to a joking “assassin moms” punchline when you talk about their kids while not realising the implications of their race and how it plays into their portrayal by dc.
you can’t just reblog a vague post about colouring damian correctly and wanting representation and then uncritically reblog another post about how evil his mother is - you’re playing into the exact same racism you claim to denounce, while feeling like you’re being so very progressive while doing it. it’s not like i’m expressing a particularly novel sentiment either, and i’m aware i probably sound like a broken record right now but it’s just so irritating

The fact that maia "literally leaked the no-fly list" crimew keeps getting wrapped into this insane callout post bullshit over fandom fuckery and imaginary pedo ring conspiracy theory bullshit by Tumblr's most radical genderfag kweers is insane. Fucking joke of a website.

Bit telling that for years and years evangelical religious extremists have been allowed on university campuses with their bullhorns and horrific imagery where they harass students into physical altercations and when students complain to the university’s administration they just shrug their shoulders citing freedom of speech but when those same tuition-paying students start protesting against war and genocide they call SWAT

Working Guys: A Transmasculine Sex Worker Anthology
Launching May 1st 2024! There are trans men and transmasculine non-binary people involved in sex work and we deserve to be heard. This anthology aims to share what it's like to be a transmasculine person who sells sexual services, something we rarely get to hear about. Sign up to be notified when the Kickstarter launches, here:
Read the full pitch below:
While we are slowly seeing more accounts about the experiences of sex workers being shared, there are large gaps in the representation. As a transmasculine sex worker myself, I have tried to seek out stories about people like me and had immense difficulty in doing so. I come across people like myself all the time, but they rarely have a platform to discuss the nuances of sex work as a trans man or transmasc non-binary person.
The intention is for this anthology to serve as a snapshot of a broad range of transmasculine experiences selling sex and porn and other sexual services. It will include the stories of roughly a dozen transmasculine sex workers, with quotes from more, interspersed with an analysis of the common patterns we see. My hope is that projects like this will make other trans sex workers feel less alone, and inform the wider public about our lives.
As someone who has sold sex before, during, and after my transition, in addition to other forms of sex work, it is extremely apparent to me that my work has been changed by my transness. I have had to deal with clients who fetishize trans men, clients misunderstanding what it means for me to be trans no matter how clear I am, transphobic violence, the loss of my ability to sell sex in certain venues (like brothels only accepting women), and a plethora of other difficulties. Only through being open about my own status as a sex worker have I discovered many other transmasculine people in the industry, who are often overlooked, and I am so tired of hearing people say it is very rare for trans men and transmasculine non-binary people to sell sex!
The anthology will include content about:
How coming out as transmasculine whilst doing sex work impacts income and the number of clients.
What it feels like to hide being trans and to sell sex under the guise of being a cis woman.
The gendered way that people tend to discuss sex work and how resources or services for sex workers fail to consider trans men and non-binary people.
Whether the sexuality of clients makes a difference in their behaviour.
Using sex work to pay for transition-related surgeries.
Solidarity between transmasc and transfem sex workers.
I've written about trans guys and non-binary people doing sex work before, like in my Transmasculine Guide to Sex Work or The Hidden Trans Men in Sex Work, including my own experiences - I'd like to be able to pay a range of other transmasc sex workers to share their stories too, especially because there's so little out there which discusses our lives!
I also ran a previous Kickstarter, to publish an English translation of a book from 1884 about prostitution, which became far more than fully funded. All those backers got their books and it was a great success, so I'm confident I can manage this project.
Please reblog this post and sign up to be notified, so you can get yourself a copy once the Kickstarter is live!

Hello trans men and mascs of Tumblr! I'm currently looking into the concept of sexuality in the transmasculine community! Right this second, that takes the form of an anonymous survey - which is intended to discover the transmasculine community's various kinks/fetishes/desires and how they relate to that transmasculine identity.
It is completely anonymous unless you'd like to contact me for followup, and no identifying information will be published. The survey takes about 10-15 minutes and covers many aspects of identity, but may be updated in the future.
Thank you for your time, and do drop us a reblog if you can!

making the leap in logic that because someone seriously discusses transmasculine and trans men's issues that they must hate transfems and not acknowledge trans women's issues is literally this line of thinking:
Tumblr media
you're asking "So doth hates potatoes?" when you ask "So you hate trans women?" when someone is just talking about transmasc & trans men's issues. you're starting an entirely new conversation. that is a whole new thought. that is derailing- stay on topic.

Antisemitism in anti-masculinity:
Tumblr media
Over the last few years, a term created to disparage those of us who recognise transmasculine specific transphobia exists, has gathered steam and is frequently deployed to dismiss transmasculine suffering. The term is "transandrophobia truther"
Many Jewish trans people have pointed out it is very antisemitic and transphobic to call trans men this. "Truther" in the traditional sense usually refers to someone who doubts an official version of events given (usually) by an authority or government. Very often, as conspiracists do, they end up blaming Jewish people for the 'truth' being concealed. This is why using truther against trans men talking about their oppression is both transphobic and hugely antisemitic.
Now- as someone who believes transandrophobia exists, I'd rather be believed about my own experiences. However, if you do *genuinely* doubt the existence of transandrophobia and wish to have a conversation- you do not start said conversation by relying upon alarmist and antisemitic language like 'truther'.
You wouldn't say that gay people are "homophobia truthers"- not unless you are a homophobe. Ergo, if you persist in calling people "transandrophobia truthers"- you are a transandrophobe. And in both instances, you would be an antisemite as well!
If you want to disagree, be civil. Even then, you aren't owed our attention.

On the inherent transphobia of radical feminism, even “trans inclusionary” radical feminism
“Considering trans women to be Madonna/Whore genders and trans men to be a part of the male oppressor class, although it may seem trans inclusive, does not actually do very much to deconstruct all of the harmful social structures which harm trans people in the first place.
“Often, trans men and transmasculine people feel isolated by this rhetoric. Non-binary storyteller Ivan Coyote describes how, “a lesbian separatist… cornered me up against the wall at the Lotus Club and chastised me for wearing a mascara moustache out to the bar on women-only night.” This is far from being the only instance of the way in which “trans inclusionary” radical feminists’ demonisation of masculinity has hurt trans and gender nonconforming people. No distinction between the masculinity of those for whom Manhood is little more than birthright, and the masculinity of those who have spent their whole lives with the knowledge that masculinity has rendered them Failed Women-Failed Men, is made whatsoever. And how can such a distinction be drawn, without invalidating the hard-earned maleness of transgender and transsexual men? How, under an ideology which casts maleness as a state of inherent privilege on the axis of gender, completely ignoring the category of Failed Man, can one quantify the idea of a man, who experiences gendered oppression not in spite of his manhood, but because of it?
“In order to rationalise this, one must either state that this man is actually a woman, and what he is experiencing is actually based in misogyny; or, one must state that, actually, he experiences no marginalisation whatsoever for this, and should either cease his expression of masculinity for the sake of the movement, or accept that, as a Man, he experiences no gendered oppression whatsoever.  In other words: one must become either a TERF, or a so-called TIRF. “The point being led to is this: there is no such thing as a TIRF. I mean this in the sense that even “trans inclusionary” radical feminism is inherently incompatible with the identities, lived experiences and existence of transmasculine people, and transgender people in general, and that this is not an accidental flaw but by design. The reason radical feminism does not, and can not, account for transmasculine gender variation is because it is an ideology which relies heavily on oppositional sexism - a fundamental tenet of radical feminist ideology is that Men are violent and are threats to women, and that women are victims of Men and of all gendered oppression. The fact that this dichotomy between genders  is presented as either innate, or as being something induced by socialisation which is so ingrained in individuals that the only society wide solution is female separatism, compounds this; additionally, not only are these genders presented as binary and immutable, they are almost entirely indistinguishable from the way in which social conservatives view gender. “Casting violence, rape and the subjugation of women as inherently male traits, and casting passivity, purity and victimhood as inherently female traits is not some radical new subversion of patriarchy; it is virtually identical to patriarchy. Therefore, radical feminism at its core is so reliant on oppositional sexism that it can never, no matter how it is twisted or reinvented, be truly trans inclusionary. In other words, there is no such thing as a TIRF.”
