when holding yourself accountable, make sure you are not inflicting more pain upon yourself (and others) by unnecessarily clinging onto guilt and self hatred. own your mistakes and wrongdoings, but never hold onto it as a definition of identity or self worth.

Life lessons I’m learning in my 20s: Communicate your feelings. If something feels wrong tell them. If something makes you feel off, tell them. Don’t bottle it up. You don’t deserve to feel that way and your feelings are valid. Those who matter will understand and adjust their behavior.

cartoon network just interviewed rebecca about the new episodes and she said, before them, people thought pearl belonged to rose because rose called her “my pearl” in rose’s scabbard, but that wasn’t the case; only low-ranking gems call their superiors “my x” “my diamond”, but diamonds don’t call their pearls/gems “my x”.

so it was definitely an endearing term.

I’m already seeing people saying “Rose/Pink was a motherfucker and an idiot who let everyone down” and, yeah, she… kinda was, in a way I guess? and? 

Rose is the epitetum of great ideas terrible execution, the reason why everything went so bad for her, for the war, for everyone. She wanted freedom and created a revolution, which is good, but she THOUGHT the best way was hiding her identity as a Diamond, and I understand why, as a Diamond she already had loyal followers, she didn’t wanted to rule, and didn’t wanted gems to be ruled. 

The thing she did not kept in mind is that the Diamond’s would be fuckin pissed, and EVERYTHING that happened in the show was because of her bad step, she had her heart in the right place, she had her mind in the right place too, but underestimated the Diamond’s feelings about her, probably because she felt like an outcast. 

I find it actually AMAZING, Steven Universe is not a story about the winner side, it’s not a story about the good revolutions that lead to better futures, it’s a story about all those steps people took and did NOT end well, all those stories that we probably hardly even known because it has the revolutionary side LOSING. 

When you learn the history of your country, you always read the victories, learn about the famous leaders that lead into a change, that created and shaped a better future, but those who failed? those who failed are forgotten, you may not even know their names, or their cause, or what they fought for, but those fights WHERE IMPORTANT.

But, it’s also a show about trying again, and NEVER letting down what you believe in, revolutions are usually doomed to fail for many reasons, but people keep going against tyranny and injustice because after shooting 5 arrows, one is going to hit a spot. 

The Crystal gems lost everything, millions where corrupted, shattered… but once the tread was back, they kept fighting for earth, they kept the flag, they kept their ideals, they kept everything, because you cannot kill the people’s hope, you cannot kill their spirit, you cannot kill the revolution.
