Bradley was made for this role because that’s the most Arthur thing to think

Arthur: So you have magic?
Merlin: Uh… yeah?
Arthur: for how long?
Merlin: Since birth.
Arthur: And you’re a dragon lord?
Merlin: Yeah my father was and it gets passed down.
Arthur: Sounds like royalty.
Merlin: No? I don’t think so.
Arthur: Yes it is, that means you’re a noble, a lord. We can get married now.
Merlin: WHAT???

Absolutely obsessed with the concept of Uther being a Merthur shipper right up until the magic. Like he's totally fine with the homosexuality, the servant thing is a bit bad but oh well the boy is clearly good for Arthur and a trusted ally against magic, and then he finds out about the sorcerer part and is like

Ok. Are we ready to have a conversation?
I understand why people are like ‘Merlin’s bad at healing magic’ cause of the earlier seasons. But my man put in the work and he doesn’t deserve this slander! He healed Morgana’s head wound in s3, he saved the entire camp site in Athusia’s egg episode from god damn poison, he cured Arthur from when Gwen was trying to kill him with one spell even though Arthur was on the brink of death. Like he’s here doing shit!
Yes in the last dragonlord episode he couldn’t fix an arrow wound and he couldn’t heal Arthur from the questing beast but my boy took the time to learn!!

So ummm... I don’t know how to word this properly but...  did Merlin canonically have a crush on 50-cent?
Okay well, so for context, this S1E1 script version has been going around twitter recently, and I’m sure that this is not a new thing at all.

I’m just HOLLERING over the fact that many Merlin fic writers who write canon universe fics would attempt to avoid any modern pop-culture reference…while the bbc writers over here just casually used them lmao.
It’s not serious but:
1. How the heck does Merlin know about 50 cent? Like… this guy??? Does it mean that Arthur was this ripped?
I’m gonna write a joke fic where Merlin accidentally magicked himself into the future during his childhood and met 50 cent. Then he developed a tiny crush on him because Merlin’s got taste.

2. I shall now dub thee “Arthur Pendragon the ninja martial art expert” 😭😭😭

Arthur: Don't kill me, I'm married!
Villain of the week: Do you think I care?
Arthur: You misunderstood, that was a warning.

Can we talk about the fact that the heavily overworked Merlin cared so deeply about Arthur that in episode 4x01, he spent all night writing Arthur's speech.. voluntarily and unasked? THAT'S NOT IN YOUR JOB DESCRIPTION, SIR! Aren't servants supposed to be illiterate?

Whenever Merlin says something too sappy and sentimental and downright gay and all serious, Arthur kinda tries not to smile because he's just thinking "oh gosh you are damn gay" or like "i cant believe you just said/admitted that"

Since it's often said that Lancelot is the mature, fully realized Arthur, Lancelot's acceptance of Merlin's magic serves as a mirror to the relationship Merlin and Arthur could have had once Merlin's magic was revealed. Lancelot's role highlights the emotional barriers Arthur must overcome and foreshadowed the eventual growth of their relationship. While Arthur's journey is slower and more fraught with conflict, Lancelot's character reminds us of the potential for Merlin and Arthur to achieve the kind of deep, trusting bond that Merlin deserves.
Ultimately, Lancelot's acceptance of Merlin's magic is not just about their friendship but also about what it represents for Merthur: the hope that Arthur will one day see Merlin for who he truly is and love him all the more for it. This symbolism adds layers of emotional complexity to the Lancelot/Merlin dynamic.
