one of the greatest things about Shovel Knight is that when you actually stop to think about it you realize that, of the duo of Shovel Knight and Shield Knight, Shield Knight is the one who's the physical powerhouse, and she just doesn't get a chance to properly demonstrate this because she keeps getting put into Situations

Exhibit A: her boss fight in SoT where one of her attacks is her charging with her shield and then causing the entire room to shake when she hits the wall on the opposite side

Exhibit B: that scene near the end of Shovel Knight Dig where she systematically wrecks several drill blade things the size of like, four Shovel Knights, and only fails on the third one because she slipped

Exhibit C: where do you think the Enchantress - whose main attacks are otherwise completely magical in nature and comfortably long range - got the idea to fling her entire body at Shovel Knight like a deranged banshee

all I'm saying is if Shovel Knight and Shield Knight's roles were reversed Shield Knight would plow through the Order of No Quarter like a bulldozer
