Soul Mate Ritual- Herbal Magick Recipe

! This contains many ingredients and even having to make some ingredients yourself but it is a very effective and powerful ritual if you decide to perform this, read thoroughly and have fun ! First we need to talk about some ethics. This ritual is designed to help bring a great love to your life. It Directly asks the Divine to determine who is best suited to you (and vice versa) and to bring that person into your life - not to break up someone else's relationship so that you may have your whim or to bind you to a specific individual whom you have in mind. Those types of actions are unethical because they thwart the free will of other people for your personal gain. Besides you don't really know as clearly as the divine who will be best suited for you - you are judging on looks, money, sexiness or whatever mundane quality that has entranced you, and that quality is not the one that necessarily helps to create a relationship that lasts a life time (or many life times)

For this ritual, you must be ready to accept the what the divine brings to you, and you MUST be ready for real love in your life. If you truly believe this is the right move for you and want to make this herbal condenser and perform this ritual, keep reading!

Ingredients:

three edible venusian herbs (banana, catnip, cherry, damiana, lemon verbena, lilac, maidenhair, myrtle, passionflower, peach, plumeria, rhubarb, raspberry, rose, strawberry, tansy, vanilla, vervain, and violet)

glass or enamel cooking pot with lid

spring or distilled water

measuring cup

vodka or grain alcohol

gold flake

amber or cobalt colored glass bottle

Place a handful of each of the three herbs you have chosen into your glass or enamel cooking pot (glass and enamel pot will not react and seep into your mixture- aluminum or iron pots will react)

Cover the herbs with spring or distilled water and bring to a simmer. Cover with lid, turn down the heat and let them simmer softly together for twenty minutes with the lid on. Allow your mixture to cool to room temperature and strain out the herbs and saving your water. Do not pour the water into your sink!

Boil again at a medium heat until the liquid has been reduced by half. Cool the extraction again, and when it is room temperature, so that you can see how much liquid you have. Add an equal amount of Vodka or Grain Alcohol as the amount of liquid extract you have in your measuring cup. Add a pinch of gold flake. Pour your condenser into your amber or cobalt-colored glass bottle (this keeps light from ageing your mixture) and store in a cool dark place. Be sure to shake it before each use. Now that you have your condenser, you are ready to perform your soulmate ritual. supplies and everything you need for it are below!

Supplies:

deep green cloth for the altar

three pink candles

vase of beautiful flowers

lovely chalice half full of fruit juice, wine, or spring water

small piece of rose quartz

incense burner

aphrodite Incense AND Oil ( to make this oil use rose petals, jasmine flowers, orris powder, rose oil, neroli oil, ylang ylang oil, you can you use the essential oil rather than the actual herb)

parchment paper

writing pen

flame candle to light your pink candles

rose petals

soul mate condenser

On a friday during the waxing moon, at a time when you will not be disturbed or interrupted gather together your supplies and set them on your altar, which should be covered with a deep green alter cloth. Place the three pink candles in the center of your altar in a triangle pattern, with the base of the triangle nearest you. Put the vase of flowers just to the left of the top candle and your chalice just to the right of the top candle. Now place the rose quartz in the center of your candle triangle. Place your incense burner and incense to your right near the edge closest to you.

Your parchment and pen lie directly in front of you on the altar. Place your flame candle to the left top side of your alter and light it. Sprinkle your rose petals randomly all over the altar.

Anoint the candles from the wick down to the bottom with your Aphrodite Oil, then anoint your third eye (the spot just above and between your eyebrows) and over your heart with Aphrodite oil. Light the pink candles with your flame candle and then using the top pink candle light your incense charcoal and place it in your incense burner atop some insulating sand. While your charcoal is igniting completely across draw a heart on your parchment paper and inside of heart a spiral. Place some incense on the charcoal and bathe the parchment paper in the incense smoke, imagining the parchment absorbing the love energy. Now charge the parchment paper by placing it above each candle flame (but not so close you ignite it!) while saying three times:

"Aphrodite Queen of night, bring me to the one who's right, Aphrodite, Morning Star, whether near or whether far, bringer of love, O Aphrodite, Draw my Soul Mate now to me, Most lovely of goddesses, O Aphrodite, and as I will, so mote it be."

Then place a drop of the soul mate condenser on your finger and seal the energy you have placed in your parchment paper by firmly anointing the spiral in the center of the heart with the liquid. Drop three drops of the condenser into the libation you have prepared in your chalice. Drink the liquid slowly as you concentrate on your heart chakra, opening and strengthening it. Feel it opening like a beautiful red rose. Let the candles burn all the way down, then fold your rose quartz stone inside the parchment and place it inside your pillow case.

Each friday evening as you relax, pour some fruit juice, wine, or spring water into your chalice and add three drops of your condenser. Relax, daydream and continue working on opening your heart chakra.

It can take up to a full twelve months for the Divine to locate your love and bring him/her into your life, although the ritual has also been known to work within a months time. Drink the soul mate condenser each friday evening and keep the parchment wrapped rose quartz in your pillow case as you dream of your love!

🌹 Love & Sex Magic Basics

Some good knowledge to have in the back of the mind when performing love and sex magic, alone or with others, yourself or for others. Sex and love magic often work together.

As always, I do not want minors on these posts, this is an 18+ only post.

TIME

🌑 New Moon: The new moon is associated with our shadow self. Due to history and religion, we often associate sex and desires with our shadow self, something kind of unacceptable. It's such a primal human feeling, lust. So sex magic benefits from the New Moon greatly.

🌒 Waxing: The moon is getting bigger and brighter. Creating an ideal phase for magic around growth. Say you're in a relationship already, you'd want it to grow better and stronger, this is an ideal time to add extra passion into your sex life too.

🌕 Full Moon: Everything is full and intense on the Full Moon. Generally, all spells are enhanced during Full Moon, so you may cast sex magic here to enhance them. See what works best for you whenever it is the Full Moon or New Moon.

♀️ Friday: These are the best days for love and sex magic. This day is in honour of Venus. But you may also know it as the day of Aphrodite, Freya, and Oshun. Generally, love spirits are most powerful during Fridays.

🕒 The Clock: Typically, daylight brings abundance, growth, and positive influences. Night brings out the shadow self, intuition and emotional self. You could prepare spells in the daylight and performe them during night. See what works best for you. I wouldn't worry too much about the exact clock.

SPACE

🛏️ The Bedroom: The bedroom is home to the bed, a place we spend roughly ⅓ of our lives in. I believe it oozes with great magical threshold and potential. It's the home to our subconscious mind and desires. A bed is also where we typically perform pleasurable acts. Performaning sex magic in the bedroom is more potent than that of the living room.

🛁 The Bathroom: Not the place we typically have acts of pleasure, but it is a place we're often bare and naked in. we take baths, or get ready and make sure we looks alright, make sure we smell good, some do their makeup here, so on and so forth. I often perform glamour magic in the bathroom, and if you do glamour magic in conjunction with sex magic, your sex magic has a greater chance of success. Glamour magic is about attraction, and sex magic is specifically attracting pleasure. Think of them as collaborative partners occasionally.

TOOLS

🌿 Priapic Wand: A wand with a phallic object attached to the end, usual that of an acorn or pinecone. Mainly used to encourage the growth of Spring and is a symbol of Imbolc and Beltane. You may attache ribbons and bells to it as well.

🌿 Mermaid Wand: Mermaids or sirens are said to have lured sailors into the sea with their beauty and sexual nature. A mermaid wand is simply a piece of driftwood.

🌿 Copper Wand: Copper holds romance and feminine energy, so copper wands are often used in love spells, tope it with a rose quartz to enhance the powers.

🦢 Swan/Rooster Feathers: Swans are often a romantic symbol of grace and beauty, we often see swans in artworks being their iconic heart symbol together, they're also a bird that mates for life. Roosters on the other hand help ward off evil and are a symbol of male energy. I see rooster feathers often used in love magic, perhaps because the rooster is such a lady's man?

🔧 Iron: Representing primal male power. Iron helps invoke sexual desire and remedy lack of libido. Iron is also hard, stiff, and endures a lot. So we're hoping that it's magical properties will tranfer through to the spells. Soaking iron in water and using that water to bath your man, specifically the part that's actually useful about us, will enhance us to perform better.

🕯️ Candles: Candles are already used in every spell there is, I'm mainly placing it here since I've found that when you involve another person and light their name on fire it invoke passion and sexual drive.

💕 Adult Toys: I suggest having literal symbols of sex near you or being used when performing sex magic. Even greater if you have one specifically for the use of these rituals. Similarly, having pornography to stimulate you is favoured, or a partner.

🐎 Horseshoes or Horse Symbols: Horseshoes are often associated with luck and protection. But can also be a powerful love talisman. Horse shoes incorporate iron (as discussed above), the shape of a horse shoe is reminiscens a cresent moon, often associated with female energy, and it may also be associated with the symbol of double horns which is a symbol of the female genitalia (Statues showing off the vulva frightened off ghosts because the vulva is a symbol of life and ghosts are dead). The symbol of a horse adds additonal meaning, especially that of a stallion, being that of powerful virile animals. If you were to hammer a nail through a horseshoe, well, isn't that obvious why?

COLOURS

🍎 Red: A primary colour, red is associated with life and passion in many cultures. Red is connected to the body through health, sex, lust, love, romance, passion, confidence.

🍊 Orange: Symbolising connections in our life. It has associations with power, vitality, energy, growth, success, and ambitions. Great colour to use when you're already in a relationship.

💗 Pink: Often a feminine colour, therefore, it represents those quirks and stereotypes. Unconditional love, playfulness, love, gentleness, beauty, feelings. It's also the lesser colour of red, so if you'd want more intimate sex rather than rough, I recommended pink.

NUMBERS

2️⃣ Two (2): For obvious reasons, it is the number of unity, of harmony.

5️⃣ Five (5): I have heard to invoke the power of Oshun (Orisha of Love), you should use the number five.

6️⃣ Six (6): To invoke the power of Aphrodite (Lady of Love), use the number six.

8️⃣ Eight (8): To invoke the power of Inanna-Ishtar (Queen of Heaven), use the number eight. Eight is also the number associated with eternity and infinity if you lay it down, so use it to keep a relationship and sex life intact.

🔢 Numerology: Generally, lesser numbers are beginnings and bigger numbers are endings. So use lesser numbers to start a passionate life and bigger numbers to have greater orgasms, etc. See what works best for you.

WATERS

🕊️ Angel's Water: This water began as a complexation remedy in the sixtheenth-century before slowly becoming a love potion. It's name is a reference to the Angels that seduced the daughters of man in the Book of Genesis. It's also known as Aphrodite Water with it's main ingredient being Myrtle, which is said is what Aphrodite was covered in when she emerged from the ocean.

💞 Florida Water: Originally marketed as a cologne. Florida Water has attractive qualities due to it's scent with rosemary and citrus aspects. IT draws in luck, fantastic energies, and happiness.

🌹 Rose Water: Roses are often associated with love and romance, especially the red variant. Rose Water, or any flower water for that matter, are often used in love spells and beauty spells.

🍷 May Wine: Ritual potion for Midsummer’s Eve and Walpurgis Night. Some of my potions require mixing ingredients into a wine, and I choose May Wine, if I don't have that, red wine is fine.

OILS

💖 Love Oil: Used for love and sex spells, as well as being used for attraction.

💘 Come To Me Lover Oil: Consider this a deluxe version of Love Oil. Perfect for sex magic and attraction of people, used mainly for specific purposes, such as drawing in a specific kind of sex life or person.

🐈 Black Cat Oil: Break bad spells and hexes, attract positive attention, especially that of the opposite gender. Depending on what oil base you choose, jojoba or castor oil for protection and almond oil for love spells.

🌿 Cleopatra Oil: Captures the true essence of legendary Egyptian queen, Cleopatra. Used for glamor spells, love and sex magic.

BOTANICALS & APHRODISIACS

💐 Botanicals: Basil, carrots, catnip, chamomile, cardamom, coriander, cubeb, gardenia, grains of paradise, hibiscus, hyacinth, iris, jasmine, lady’s mantle, lavender, lovage, mint, onion, orchid, poppy, rose, rosemary, saint john’s wort, southernwood, strawberries, thyme, tormentil, vervain.

Botanicals associated with romance and sex and/or can enhance your love and sex spells.

🍾 Aphrodisiacs: Caviar, champagne, chocolate, coriander, apricots, peaches, cherries, grapes, figs, pomegranates, garlic, hibiscus tea, honey, hot peppers, mint, onions, radishes, saffron, shellfish, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, sushi, vanilla, tomato.

Ingredients in which have shown to have aphrodisiac effects, some more than others.

☁️ Myrrh and Frankincense: They may not be obvious, with their religious background and association. However, they were burned in ancient Egypt, and myrrh was associated with Isis, the goddess of fertility, and frankincense with that of Rah. The lunar and sun goddess and god. Burn together with a partner or burn myrrh if you're more fem leaning and frankincense if you're mask leaning. Burn myrrh if you're attracting a woman and burn frankincense if you're attracting a man. What if you're nonbinary or the partner is? Burn both.

NOTES

Some extra good things to note before, during, and after performing love and sex spells.

Bathing your hands in Rose Water to enhance spells before performing - You may also use thyme.

Performing naked for sex magic increases the chances of success. Alternatively, clothing that makes you feel sexy.

Wearing a red ribbon around your waist for sexual seduction enhancement. You may use red string and incorporate knot magic, or a red gather belt, or regular belt. Something red around your waist, essentially.

In sex magic, you'll want to stir counter-clockwise. This is to invoke passion and vigour in your sex life. While clockwise is the opposite and lessens the libido. You may also think of it as counter-clockwise for deviance and clockwise for "vanilla".

Stir near your thighs and genitals to enhance success and better sex.

Stir near your heart for romantic love.

The hair off of someone's head is often used in love spells to draw them near you and make them love you. However, if you acquire their pubic hair, more sexual and aroused feelings will be invoked.

Use your sexual bodily fluids to charge and enchant sigils and other objects.

Use menstrual blood to enhance love spells. Are you someone who do not bleed like me? Worry not! Prick your ring finger, preferably that of the left (unless you're married, then that of the right) and the blood will have a similar effect to that of menstrual blood.

Are your love spells not working on your lover? Acquire a piece of their hair and let gentle water drip on ti it continually and the resistance should wear off. Sometimes your lover may even be cursed with lack of sexual performances, so bathing in iron would help or eating any of the aphrodisiac ingredients would help too.

It helps to be in the mindset when performing love and sex spells, so being aroused and excited for sex spells helps them perform better. Being in a romantic mood helps for love spells, so feed yourself well with cherries, peaches, and chocolate. As well as having your favourite adult toys out when doing sex magic or also warming yourself up and then performing sex magic.

That should be it, go out and have lots of good sex and love!

So, you’re going to need:

Rosemary (to return strength - lucky herb too)

Cinnamon (for speed)

Oregano (for luck - isn’t really necessary)

Basil (luck too - isn’t necessary)

Bay leaf (to enhance and set intention)

Rice or black pepper (to absorb any negative energies)

Cast a circle (I usually envision and feel energy flow around my workspace into a circle)

Set your intention (just say “my intention is to attract luck”)

This isn’t necessary but you can light a candle to draw strength from.

Use a pen or marker to write on the bay leaf “I’m grateful that everything goes my way” or “I am lucky” (adding emotions like feeling “grateful” adds ✨ S P I C E ✨)

Put your protection herbs in the center like rice of a fireproof bowl.

Circle rosemary and your other herbs around it.

Set the bay leaf on fire and dump it into the bowl.

Envision the energy working through the universe and your life when it has worked. Really feel it.

Put everything out and close the circle.

Take the burned herbs and bury them in any plant (just not a rotted one💀💀) or throw them into the wind.

You’re done with your luck spell and should expect results after 7-18 business days /j. 😌💅

Self Love Spell <3

Ingredients:

- cinnamon stick

- goblet or wine glass

- some kind of strawberry drink (strawberry champagne, juice etc.)

- pink candle (can use white as a substitute) 

- your favorite crystal (rose quartz is preferred but you can use any) 

- any kind of cleansing method you have ( ex. I use fairy dust incense)

The Spell:

grab your candle, and carve into it “i love myself” & your name then light your candle. Grab your goblet or wine glass, and start to cleanse it with whatever works best for you! I usually use incense so I would light the incense and wave it around the goblet! Then take your cinnamon stick and if you can, carve into it saying “i love myself” as well. If you can’t because the cinnamon stick is fragile, it’s okay, don’t stress! 

Pour your drink in your goblet & start stirring it counterclockwise while chanting “i banish all hatred towards myself” until you feel it’s enough!

Stir Clockwise & chant “I welcome only love and contentment towards myself” until you feel it’s enough. Hold on to your crystal & say “with each sip, i destroy all self-hatred and let nothing but love, flow through my body” Meditate and set your intentions while you prepare to drink. 

Drink your beverage slowly, envisioning the love flowing into your body & driving out all of the negative feelings you have about yourself! 

What to do with ingredients: 

Incense: you can either leave it burning after you cleanse or turn it off and save it! 

Candle: Let it burn until it goes out by itself OR say “good bye, self hatred” and blow it out! 

Goblet: Kiss the cup, and wash it!

Cinnamon Stick: Eat it whole. just kidding, you can keep it for other spells, bury it, or whatever you’d like, it has served it’s purpose! 

Strawberry drink should be in your tummy :)

CIRCLE TIP:

I know books from the seventies would have you believe otherwise, but you don't have to mentally hold circle for the whole ritual, and you don't have to physically mark the whole circle boundary, nor do you need a coven member to hold space. You can put regular old rocks at each of the cardinal directions along the walls of your room or along the outer perimeter of the sacred space and use those as anchor points for the energy you lay.

Start by gathering, cleansing, and sanctifying/consecrating/blessing/charging/whatever four stones of any shape and size that suits your needs. Larger stones are good if you want them to be a visible reminder of the boundaries of circle, but smaller ones are good for discretion. Anoint them with a protection oil if you'd like (I only recommend doing this if you are using them indoors with no animals around), and/or pencil protection sigils on them. Cast circle but make sure your energy hits each stone and runs through it. If you call in the quarters, invite them to reside in their respective directional stones. Boom, done, now you have an easily marked sacred space that doesn't need constant maintain.

And, fun fact, circle doesn't HAVE to be round. Round is easiest when you're using mental energy to hold the space, but if you use physical barriers like existing walls then your cast energy resides in that physical block and is held automatically. I especially love doing this as a quasi-permanent marker to sanctify an entire room because any doorways become defacto entrances/exits that spiritually open and close when physically opened and closed.

Okay but isn't this being lazy? NO you rude hypothetical, it's not. It's being resourceful. Using these physical anchors allows a solitary practitioner to put their focus towards other things. I use this method when I'm studying magic texts, or so I can hang out with my ancestors and spirit friends casually for extended periods of time, or if I am going to be attempting astral projection. And by "I use this method," I mean it is one of the permanent protections I have in place in my home.

The Phase Basics

I’ve heard so much varying information on The Phase going around here lately, I wanted to understand the concept from the source. I spent hours reading the extremely long textbook from the original creator, and would like to summarize some basic information that will help clarify what The Phase is.

As always, it’s important to remember this is just one way of explaining and exploring these out-of-body phenomena and should not be taken as a holy grail. I always encourage everyone to listen to their intuition and choose methods that align with their natural strengths.

✩ What is The Phase? ✩

The Phase is a state of consciousness between wakefulness and REM sleep where individuals can experience lucid dreaming, out-of-body experiences, and other paranormal phenomena.

Phase states includes lucid dreaming, astral projection, sleep paralysis, and other OOBE. If you become lucid in a dream, or are able to induce sleep paralysis - congrats you’re already in a phase state, and don’t need to use The Phase Method.

This specific concept of The Phase was introduced by Michael Raduga. He has worked with groups of people for years helping them get into phase states with his Phase Method, and proven his techniques to be very effective.

✩ What is the Phase Method? ✩

The Phase Method is a series of techniques used to get into a phase state. It uses the natural awakenings we have in the early morning hours - where sleep is lighter and REM is more frequent - to try to induce a phase state.

✩ What are the steps to the Phase Method? ✩

Step 1: Sleep 6 hours and wake up with (or without) an alarm clock. Waking up around this time will cause lighter and more frequent REM sleep, which will make it easier to induce phase states.

Note: it’s not necessary to use an alarm clock if you already wake up frequently during the night. You can honestly just skip this step and go right to step 2, make your intention before bed, and using every natural awakening to induce a phase state. There are many successful astral projectors who use a simplified version of the phase method based on this idea, without disrupting their sleep cycles, which I will link in the resources below.

Step 2: Go back to sleep with intention. What do you want to do? Lucid dream? Astral travel? Enter the void? Decide what you want and what you will do to induce it.

Examples:

“When I wake up, I will remain still and focus on the blackness behind my eyes, which will take me to the void, where I will affirm for my desires.”

“When I fall asleep, I will enter a lucid dream. I will create a portal in my dream that will take me to my DR”.

Step 3: Perform a “separation technique” - a way for your mind to move your awareness away from your body. This can be done in various ways such as: peering into the darkness behind your eyes, listening to noises in your head, affirming your desires, making an imagined movement like sitting up, rolling over, or pulling a rope to disconnect your astral body from your physical.

Step 4+5: Repeat techniques until something happens. If nothing happens after a few minutes, go back to sleep and try again at the next natural awakening.

Getting Back Into Your Practice

Sometimes life is shitty and your spiritual practice doesn't take priority. Thats okay. Here are some tips for how to get back into your practice once you're feeling up for it.

Cleanse and Clean Your Space This is defiantly the first think you should focus your energy on. This can take as long as needed and as intensive as you want or feel is needed. Spiritual and physically cleanse your space. Pick up items, open windows and start your cleansing method of choice.

Redo Wards and Protections Once you've cleansed its important to redo your protection. Cleanse to get rid of, protect to keep it away. Even if nothing has *hit* your protections and wards, its important to keep up to date on them being energized.

Keep Actives Low on Spoons Now that you've done the basics, stick to low spoon actives and slowly build from there. Even if you feel super energized and ready to get into it- you want to take things slow. This'll help you from losing steam..

Slowly Add Back In Your Daily Practice This is totally unique person to person, but dont expect to be back into your multi step daily routine right away. Add in each step one at a time, or slowly so you wont feel overwhelmed.

Come Up with a Ritual Youre EXCITED About You want to focus on the parts of witchcraft you love. Do something you've always wanted to try, something you always love doing, or anything that will make you excited for the working.

Pick a New Topic, Not an Older One Getting into your practice and going to an older topic might feel disheartening. Pick a new topic like astrology, plants, or an aspect of witchcraft you havent gotten too into before. Then go back to the older topic you left on.

Do Some Divination on What You Need Right Now Spend time with your spirit team, deities or ancestors and figure out what you should be focusing in on right now. Maybe you need more rest, maybe theres a ritual they want you to work on.

Remember You Dont Have To Do Magic Daily Dont put too much stress into doing something every single day. Take breaks. Youre still a witch.

I hope these helped. Remember to take things slow and dont let the pressure of getting back into it weigh you down. Magic is suppose to help not hinder.

Witch things to add in your room, poor person edition

Fuck it Most of witchcraft people tell you to buy shit. So here's some stuff u can do for free

grab some sticks from the ground, bind them together in a shape you like, add intent (usually protection), hang it up

make a flower crown, add protection intent, dry it out, hang it up. protection spell and real ward. regularly recharge intent.

dry plants, set warding intent, hang them up.

crushed eggshells on your window sill to prevent bad energy.

wear a bandana or veil somewhere on your body, sometimes i use mine as belts, to protect from bad vibes.

paint your nails in the color meaning you want. mine are pink for self attraction rn

when you light up a candle always ask if theres a spirit or entity there, pyromancy skills can be learned through google, tumblr, and tiktok.

Regularly clean and rearrange your altar if you can't practice everyday, this keeos the space clean and shows entities around that even if ur not active, you're still a witch

A cup of water can be an offering to anyone, imagine being an entity and you can't have water at all for centuries??

If you have glasses, draw a sigil on them while you clean them (i usually wash mine with soap and water to make it extra clean ((and dry with paper towels)))

Give your wall art jobs. Sure they can be decorative, or they can be extra eyes to watch you while you sleep to make sure no one messes with you. (Ive had so much wall art fall in the middle of the night and turns out smth was trying to get in my room...)

If you have black-out/thick curtains, let the sun in!!! I keep them tied during the day so i can use natural light and ease up my electricity bill

Change ur bedsheets semi regularly, it doesn't need to be every week, but keep in mind bedbugs and other entities can get trapped there... or even try to get there to make your sleep unrestful.

If your room is a bio-hazard, at least make pathways so you can walk without injuring yourself.

How to make sea, ocean, rain, stream, or river charged water that is safe to consume

I am so excited to finally put pen to paper about this topic! It’s something I’ve mixed into my craft for a few years now and something I’ve been meaning to post about since I brewed up this method. Over the years, I have seen many witchcraft practitioners consume water or oil infused waters that are not safe or healthy; it’s one thing to harm ourselves but another to rampantly spread misinformation. Not pointing fingers or placing blame, I’m not perfect either. 

I will preface this by saying, this does not at all involve or condone the consumption of actual water derived from these natural sources. Even when boiled, these waters are not to be consumed.** Bear with me, because I’m about to clear things up.

What you’ll need • a sealed water bottle or drinkable water and a bottle/container for it • the ability to access your desired water source • your intent(s) for this charged water …And that’s about it! Method • Allow your closed/seal container of water to come in contact with the water or submerge if safe/possible. Hold it (or secure steadily) and don’t leave it unattended, lest it become another piece of litter. • Leave it exposed to water or submerged until it feels right to you, or for as long as you are able to. • Pro tip: Consider how the type of natural water you chose will add to your charged water. Does it softly brush the lake shore, crash down into waves, cascade in endless river rapids, or flow slow & steady? Is it saltwater or freshwater? The clearer your intent, the more you benefit. Do this charging method in the day to harness the sun’s power, or at night to harness the moon’s power. Draw or place a sigil or rune on the container if you wish.

Ta daaa! You got yourself some naturally charged water that is perfectly safe to consume. This should go without saying, but don’t consume the water if your bottle or its seal is compromised.

I devised this method because it is either free or relatively cheap for most people.

**I know there are natural sources of running water that are perfectly safe to drink from, in which case, by all means, consume way! Do not consume rain water and please don’t consider consuming natural waters unless you’re certain of the purity. It’s not another’s job to figure out what’s safe for us. Use common sense and research everything! Don’t rely on others to tell you what is and isn’t safe.

Blood Magic- Intermediate Stuff

If you’re unfamiliar at all with blood magic, and interested in learning the basics, then check out these two posts I’ve done on blood magic before.

Where Do I Start?

If you’re trying to figure out what comes after the 101 stuff, then that’s what this post is for. I’m not an expert, I’m not the sole authority on blood magic, this is just my practice, and what I’ve learned, but I’m willing to help out the curious by sharing what I know.

In this post I’m assuming you already understand the basics of safety when handling and using blood in spell work, and I’m assuming you’ve already considered the moral implications for yourself in using blood, and what kind you like to work with. This is not a “how to” for what blood magic “really is.” That’s talked about more in my introduction to blood magic, where I explain safety, and realistic standards for incorporating blood into your spell work.

So, having said all that…..do you work with blood magic? Feel like you’re just “tacking it on” to a spell? Or maybe you aren’t sure of how to use blood magic effectively? Fear not! I’m here to share my own piddly knowledge and experiences. Side note, while my knowledge isn’t super-awesome-master level, let me put that into perspective real quick. Every single person who does spell work has their own unique experiences, they have their own associations, their own practices, and entirely different cultural bases on which they build their skills. I can’t know their backgrounds and the same things they know, at least not in the same way. I will always have more to learn, until the day I stop breathing. That’s how the universe works. So I’m not saying I don’t know jack, I’m saying more that mine is a single drop of information, drawn from an ocean of knowledge.

The essence of blood magic is strength, equal to that of a life. That’s both the appeal and the terror behind blood magic. Blood, on it’s own will make any spell stronger. But working that blood as you would other elements of a spell, makes it into something even greater. Beyond just determining the associations of blood in magic depending on how it was gathered, we can also tap into its other potential. One grossly important part of that is intimately understanding blood as an ingredient. Just as you can study and learn all the properties of a specific plant or stone, and learn how to manipulate it to its full potential in your spell work, you can do the same with blood. At it’s core, blood is about creation and life. From it, all animals exist. Blood holds the very code for who each individual is. Your body is constantly producing more blood, to keep you alive. You have blood that carries oxygen and nourishes your body, and you have blood that fights disease and infection. From your blood (especially thinking about donating blood in this instance) others can live, well past an otherwise fatal incident. Without blood, our lungs and brains and limbs are all useless and lifeless. At the same time though, a single blood cell is a short lived, expendable drone. It is a single point, and the system functions the same without it. It is all possibility, all creation, all change, and yet on it’s own…completely insignificant.

When you draw blood for spell work, you can already begin to charge and focus it towards an intent before you ever add it to a spell. Just like when you pick an herb to use because you want it for it’s ability to protect, but not for it’s associations with love, you can do that with blood. One way of do this is to pair the ingredients with other items that have the same desired association as your spell goal. Another is to take an ingredient with that desired association, and when you charge it, specifically focus on that one aspect of it. If you’re drawing your own blood, this can be done prior to the spell work and the drawing of blood, by meditation or trance work. Through your meditation, focus not only on the intent you desire the spell (and your blood as an ingredient) to have, but on tying that intent to your blood. Listen to your heart beat, feel it. Each time it beats, it’s driving that intent and energy deeper into the individual blood cells. You can also do this focusing on blood that’s already been obtained from another source as well, just focus that energy into the ingredient, rather than allowing it to run through your own being.

This charged blood can then be used for many purposes. You can include it as is, as an ingredient in it’s own right. You can include it to charge a spell, allowing the blood to be a constant carrier for your energy and intent, inside the spell. You can also use it to enhance other ingredients. For example, you’ve charged your blood, focusing on protection. You want to enhance the protective abilities of basil before adding it to a spell though. You can combine a small amount of blood with basil, and mix them (if your basil is powered/ground) or smear a bit of blood onto a basil leaf. This essentially takes the charged blood, and focuses it on one of the spell ingredients, to basically tone down all the other latent associations, and bring the desired one to the fore-front in order to keep the spell intent from getting muddled. This can also be used to nudge an ingredient over to where you want it. Say you associate all roses with love, but specifically yellow roses with platonic love, and orange-ish roses with friendship. You want a spell for strengthening friendship, but can’t find orange-ish roses. You can charge blood and apply it to any color rose to nudge it’s energy more into line with what you desire. For me, this is easier than just trying to charge the rose with the exact intent I want, because I have trouble getting ti to “stick.” However, since my blood is a stand in for me, it holds my will, and when I apply that to the rose with the intent of shaping the energy to my will, it holds much easier.

Blood can be mixed with wax for many purposes as well. Use this blood to seal spell jars. Add a few drops to the melted wax in a partially burned candle and let it cool to have a candle with the exact intent you charged the blood with. Use a mold to cast wax dolls with blood inside the wax. A blood and wax seal with a sigil or other symbol pressed into it can be used to bind something.

Speaking of sigils. You can make your own sigil inks using blood magic, that enhance the abilities of the sigil. Charge your blood that you’ll be using for the sigil. Add it, along with powdered dry ingredients and liquid ingredients that match your intent, or are simply designed for adding extra energy and power to a sigil, and mix them all together until you like the consistency. Essentially all you need to make ink is color and liquid. Gum arabic, or another thickening agent will keep your ink from being too runny and going all over the place, and it also helps to make the ink appear crisper and darker on paper, though too much gum arabic makes the dry ink stiff and brittle. By custom making your inks for sigils, you are insuring that every fiber of the sigils creation and existence is custom tailored for your purposes.  

This is just some of the examples of how to start using blood magic in a more advanced way. I may do another post with more information, and specific examples late on. I hope this was interesting for some of you, at least. And as always, my ask box is always open. :)

Witch Tip: Getting Started With Planetary Magic

Note: This is, as always, my personal experience of studying astrology and working with the planets for twenty-five years. There's some UPG in there. Your results may vary. My paradigm is based on creating relationships with the planets rather than demanding they obey your commands. This is what I mean by work with: begin the process of forging a relationship.

If you are looking for a place to start with planetary magic, work with the traditional planetary ruler of your Sun, Moon, or Ascendant - whichever of the three feels right.

They are as follows: Aries - Mars, Taurus - Venus, Gemini - Mercury, Cancer - the Moon, Leo - the Sun, Virgo - Mercury, Libra - Venus, Scorpio - Mars, Sagittarius - Jupiter, Capricorn - Saturn, Aquarius - Saturn, and Pisces - Jupiter.

If you are under the age of 30, I would steer you away from working with Saturn to start with and if you are under 25, I would steer you away from Jupiter as well. (as intermediary planets they require a bit of life experience to fully actualize)

The Sun and the Moon can be looked at a bit like parents. Most of the time, they like you and want to support your life and successes. Sometimes they can be bossy or naggy and they definitely will always think they know better than you.

Venus and Mars are like your besties, or sometimes, your siblings. They can be your wingman when you need them and will definitely beat somebody up if they've been bullying you. They may not always agree with you, but most times you can convince them to your side.

Mercury is a capricious bitch. They will play tricks on anyone, including you. They are endlessly convinceable so just be reasonable and you will probably get what you want (though sometimes in a roundabout way).

Jupiter doesn't have an inside voice. Thankfully, they tend to want the best for everybody. That includes people you don't like, though. You may have a problem with moderation if you work with Jupiter too often, some people like it that way.

Saturn is a buzzkill. Some buzzes need to be killed. Working with Saturn too much can lead you straight into depression. But if you need to stop something, get a handle on a situation, or just slow the fuck down, this is your slightly Scary Uncle. Intimidation x10.

Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto don't care because they don't have dominion over our everyday lives. And that's okay, they control the inevitability of change (Uranus), death (Pluto), and the Unknowable (Neptune). They can't be convinced because we cannot control the inevitability of change, death, and the unknowable. They happen to us - all we can do is accept it or (very occasionally) get out of the way.
