why bother caring about the environment when 1. It’s so obviously a lost cause and 2. There’s definitely going to be a nuclear war?
And what are you doing about it Anon? Learn about ecological restoration or get out of my way.

Seems Indy and Rubella reported that the RVT are active once more to Spinel, I wonder if this means the Explorers will start becoming more active again to hinder the RVT in their efforts to reveal the truth and clear their names.
Also, Umbreon hopping up to dad for chin scritches. Aww.

You know what I've never really seen realistically depicted in fiction? The way that people in places that get a huge amount of snow deal with said snow. Specifically in the cities. I get that it's probably not exactly an intuitive thing to think about if you've never lived in a place that gets a lot of snow, and even if you do, you probably figure that they must have some really sophisticated infrastructure systems specifically for this purpose. It's not like they'll just scoop the snow off the streets and gather it into huge piles, and then just climb over the progressively larger and larger snow piles every single year for months while waiting for the piles to melt in the spring.
We do. There's no point in planning more sophisticated systems to get rid of something that'll eventually just go away on its own. So they just pile the snow into randomly designated spaces that cars or people aren't supposed to go through, and let it pile up. There's significantly less street parking available in the winter because some spots where you could otherwise park a car are currently the parking spot of a snow pile three times taller than a car.
You get used to it. And if you grow up around here, it never even occurs to you to think of it as something strange in the first place.

Remember "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" ? I feel like there's been a distancing from the "reduce" and "reuse" part and a favoritism towards "recycle" by corporate American.
Capitalism can still thrive with recycling in the mix. You buy Plastic Thing 1, throw it away after one use, and they take that and recycle it into Plastic Thing 2 and sell it back to you. All while continuing to harm the environment.
Reusing puts a damper on things. They can't sell you Plastic Thing 2 when you're still using Plastic Thing 1. Plastic forks, for example- there is literally no reason why you can't reuse plastic forks more than once (aside from maybe microplastics, but it's too late for that)
Reducing is the one everyone wants to ignore. Just don't buy Plastic Thing 1. You don't need Plastic Thing 1. Pick up a set of metal forks and use those for years. Convenience is killing the planet

I saw a post that described the sentiment a very long time ago at this point, but it gives me hope.
I love humans. I love that it is built into our DNA to pattern-recognize faces. We are such social creatures that we look at a tree and find a face, we find a face in everything. We just actively look for others to love and be and celebrate life with. We need the community.
And like! We saw big vicious predator animals (cats and dogs) and went "fluffy! I am gonna keep you" and gave them food and, because they're also social creatures, they were like "yeah, okay ¯\_(ツ)_/¯"
We look to the stars for more friends! For adventure, for hope.
Our brain is also so wired for pattern recognition that sometimes, among the white noise, it fills in voices, or music. Not necessarily in a psychosis way, but some people's brains hear silence and just fills it with music! We have such a tenancy for patterns that we just make something out of nothing.
Things are really scary all over the world rn. But sometimes I feel a bit better thinking about how much love still exists in the world. People are not born cruel. We can fix things. We will get better.
