Water you doing back here again..
I have repeat customers! or blogustmers..though that sounds quite ordinary, i will keep working on that. But thank you firstly for the nice comments and positive feedback
Jumping straight into writing about lifestyle and fitness took a bit of courage as a lot of my advice is from personal experiences and if you speak to the right people, you'l find out that I am the exception, not the norm. Especially when it comes to the exercise.
Enough about me, let’s get back to our next section - Drinks and I would to incorporate how food applies in this too.
Drinking is a huge yet underrated portion of the pie chart.
This consists of everything..from water to coffee to alcohol to soft drinks.
The truly, truly fit people or the ones who are the most dedicated to their training lifestyle, you'll find that majority of them have zero alcohol, no soft drink and no milk in their coffee.
I've tried the no alcohol thing but failed within 10 minutes..don’t worry, iv checked myself in and am sitting outside AA as i'm writing this..i am of course, kidding.
Don't even start with soft drinks. I think everyone knows how bad it is for you. Whether you are drinking coke, diet coke, coke zero or coke zero gravity its all bad. Trust me, I know the temptation but its only after you cut it out of your diet for a while and you notice the difference, do you actually realize the kind of crap you are putting into your mouth.
Now to the hero of the article. Water. When i was younger, i baulked at the idea of 8 glasses of water a day..How could you? OR in this case and more importantly WHY would you?! When there are so much better tasting drinks around (BTW I did grow up in an asian country where you get the most ridiculously sweet and amazing drinks). But as I grew older and the more aware I became of what is good for you and what isn’t, the more I realised those 4 in 5 doctors who believed that 8 glasses of water is integral, may have been onto something #whoknew
Now i generally have 2.5 - 3L of water a day and you would struggle to not find me with a bottle near me at any stage..water hydrates you, it keeps everything saweet and u know who else loves it? yep u guessed it..steve!
#savesteve is picking up, soon i'l have my own t-shirts..help anyone?
Having an alcoholic beverage when having dinner or lunch or a meal seems to be the norm now. But there actually is no reason why that beverage couldn’t be a nice glass of water instead. That wine isn’t important..its a choice that you make but u rarely need it.
How to work around food and drink when trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle is a mindset. People think that one glass of red wine a night isn’t anything but it all adds up and Steve's memory is long. You may be able to read articles or studies on the topic but every body is different and just because something works for one person doesn’t mean it’s going to work on you.
If there is one thing that should be taken from all of this, it is exactly that.
You have to find out what works for you when it comes to food, eating calamari salads 4 times a week or cutting out meat from your diet just because you think that is why you are gaining weight is ridiculous. Maybe its the chips you have been having when watching movies during the weekend, or it’s the third piece of cake that you’re eating now.
Like alot of things in life, if you put your mind to it, food and drink restrictions should not be the hardest decision you ever make.
That, is the first step to attaining any goals you have..in this case trying to begin a healthy lifestyle.
Stay away from soft drinks, limit your alcohol intake and drink plenty water..do these things, along with the other 3 aspects of the picture and I guarantee you..there will be a difference.
Next week..sleep!
Stay healthy and stay safe

You win some..you lose some
Hopefully you’re winning more compliments and losing some of the unwanted feelings you resented about yourself
Just quickly..I’m back! for about the 4th time! However, its a case of same same but different in this edition of S’porters.
I want to talk about fitness and how to achieve what it is you want to. I am by no means qualified or certified but I have been through a physical change in the last 12-18 months and I feel that sharing my experiences and what I’ve learnt could help others.
Achieving a good lifestyle, feeling good about yourself, wanting that beach body..these are all common lines you’d hear from friends, family, strangers even if you walk close enough to them..but I wouldn't recommend it..just saying
To get this, it really comes down to 4 parts of the main puzzle. If you do these 4 things regularly, there’s about a 98% chance that you would feel comfortable enough replacing your jeans with budgie smugglers for the entire summer months. I may or may not be ad-libbing here.
Over the next few weeks, i’l get into detail on the 4 pieces to the puzzle. These include Water, Sleep, Exercise and Food. Today i’l talk about food.
Food.
It’s good huh? Muffins, pizza, churros, pizza, chorizo, pizza..there is abit of a trend there.
Yet as amazing as food is, I have countless friends who simply refuse to eat when they’re hungry because they ‘ceebs’ or ‘too lazy’. Who can be too lazy to eat? Shouldn’t this be the best part? I eat a ridiculous amount of food, some say too much but due to my high levels of exercise, I have been blessed with a high metabolism rate which pretty much means I have this huge fireplace in my esophagus which just disintegrates the food as it goes in.
I could go on and on about this but there’s a few simple rules when it comes to eating.
Ignore diets. Eat often, snack well.
You should be eating least 6 times a day, with small snacks in between main meals to keep your stomach happy. Think about Steve the stomach for a second.Or if you must,Susan the stomach.
You feed Steve at 9pm for dinner, u do your thang before bed and u wake up the next morning at 7am for work. But you’re rushing out cos you slept in, so you pick up a milk based coffee on the way. Then you get caught up in work.
Meanwhile Steve’s been giving you silent reminders, its been 15 hours since you fed me..but you decide to ignore Steve cos you’re too ‘busy’. You look up at your watch again and its 130pm..OH you know what maybe il go grab some lunch now. The second you get some sort of food down to Steve, hes going to swallow it whole without even digesting it because its simply been 16.5 hours since you last fed him.
Think about yourself not eating for 16.5 hours then eat a sandwich and see quickly you finished that..that is what poor Steve feels like..
Now you eat just had your sandwich at 130pm, and you’re feeling ‘sooo full’. You’re not going to have a snack at 4 or even think of dinner at 7pm and thus begins a vicious cycle of late eating or even worse..not eating. So let’s remember to..
..#SAVESTEVE or #SAVESUSAN
Always happy to help with anything if need be, most of you would know how to reach me.
If i still get you back for next week, we’l be talking about how awesome water is for you!
Stay safe and live well

BJ & Cloaks..
No, it isn't some sick (or normal for some) p0rno..these are two of the big name players who are tossing their names into the free agency market. Pardon the slightly adult themed puns but I can only work with the names in front of me...and the mind I have
First things first, Travi cloke, someone told me he was jealous of Travis Mccoy stealing his 'token travis' name so he decided to steal his 'travi' moniker. Clearly something other than footy was at the forefront of his mind but then again you dont have to be a genius to see that. His footy has dropped off hugely since early in the season when news broke about my beloved Fremantle,as well as other teams unworthy of being mentioned *cough melbourne demons cough* tabling an offer of $1.1 million over 4 years to the middle son of the prestigious Cloke family. However, lately the way TC has been playing, you'd think he'd be lucky to get a packet of Samboy chips and a can of coke zero during 3QT as suitable pay the way he's been strutting this stuff on the hallowed turf of the MCG..that strutting was meant in the most sarcastic tone ever heard. Apparently he's still getting the job done according to umm himself, good to see that you can add delusional to your awesome CV trav!
BJ,also known as,one Brendan Goddard has decided to 'test the market waters' and possibly leave the Saints..now this is the first time you're going to hear such a term being used in the country, just another thing we adopted from the US of the huge A and not such a bad idea i dont think. Though dont think the Saints are liking it all that much. BJ's name first got dropped last year with the GWS Giants but the way they are going, dont think he's going to be rushing down the highway to link up with them..think bout the wasted toll money!
Once again, my wonderful team Freo, who seems to be currently bankrolled by the Russians and Sheiks combined, seems to have offered Goddard a 4 year deal for what i'm assuming can only be for a lot of money if hes thinking of making the switch out west to link up with his first love..ol Rossy Lyon.
Honestly,Ross would be Lyon if he said he didnt want BJ down in Fremantle
til next time my...blopps?i dont know what blog followers are called anymore
keep watching and il watch you

Enough with the limited Spanish!
Well for another couple of years anyways..
I'd like to take this time, to welcome everyone back to S’porters, took a little hiatus over the summer months (that worked out well) and come back ready for the second half of the footy season, the pre and post season for the EPL and the NBA
And I guess I'll cover the Olympics..seems to be a pretty big deal….in most countries
BUT first things first..well done to the Spanish national football team.
First footballing nation to win 3 of the national trophies back to back and also defended their European crown, so kudos to the team.
Even though they beat the Italians who I was rather proudly going for, especially after having no chance of advancing from the group stage, according to some critics who are definitely getting paid for their reknowned knowledge of the round ball game.
The game was played at a furious pace,(thanks Raj)one quicker than I've seen in most football matches let alone Italian matches but Spain deserved the win wit their well published ‘tiki-taka’ style of game play and classic finishes.
Spain turned it up a notch in style when they were sent out by Del Bosque (pronounced Baws) in a what was seen as a bizarre decision in the beginning, turned into a masterstroke by playing a 4-6-0 formation.
Perhaps revolutionary tactics? We’ll see…if we make it past the Mayan calender
Even the much maligned Torres, managed to get on the scoreboard and ended up winning the golden boot. He wins 2 trophies with his club, European championship with his country yet he still gets ripped into. Go figure
Oh I still hate the guy but just giving credit where its due.
Finally hatred to the people I know (u know who you are) just because you go for a football nation whose language you don’t know DOES NOT give you reason to speak Spanish on your status
You don’t see French supporters going Merci Les Bleus Ohh Hho Jacques Cousteau baguette
So stop wit the Vamos Espana or Vamos Espanoyol or Vamos Escabeche
Just no.
I may say Forza Italia but I can…cos I'm writing this
You keep watching sport, and I’l keep watching you
Sorry I meant, I’l keep watching sport and you keep watching this page

Lost Space Cadets - Have you seen any?
I have...his name is Mario Balotelli.
The names familiar and at first glance, a non-sport fan would be able to deduce that this is some suave italian guy, jet black hair and drives a car isn't logical to buy
but no...*refer to the picture above*
The car bit is right..everything else, not so..the kid's got a different haircut every other day,its almost like a game to see if you can guess the type of haircut he's gonna pull out before match day.
But im not here to talk about Mario's awesome skill which he definately has but more so on his other, lets just say, more creative side...
Now Mario's been in the new recently ALOT due to his umm lets just say lack of thinking ability. In summary in the last few months, he's set fireworks off his own toilet in his house, broke curfews twice in the last fortnight..1) to go have some curry before the game against Chelsea where he engaged in a mock sword fighting using rolling pins and 2) to drive around handing out money to people in the streets, dressed as Santa Claus before his game against Arsenal.
I had initially pencilled this in last week but i somehow had a feeling he would balls up again and thank you for making me look like Nostradamus, young Mario and driving through the street pretending to be Santa!
This guy is a major major space cadet, ie he's just not in this world, not in terms of skill but just in general. There's a video also being uploaded that shows this genius struggling to put a bib on, even AFTER he was showed how to..being the nice guy that i am, I'll upload it for all you peeps to see.
Most will also remember his simple shot at goal attempt which he decided to make a whole lot more difficult by trying a back heel which missed and irked the manager so much that he took Balotelli off after only 20 minutes of game time.
And did Mario feel bad? Nope..he instead queried why?
Only in space,Mario...

Long Time Coming..
Long time coming..funny phrase, you could put a few things down to that..Jesus coming again, Freo's breakthrough premiership win in 2012, Phil Hughes being caught in front of the wicket and NOT in the slips cordon..AND of course the return of Sportersblog..
Been a while but im back with a vengeance..
Firstly but Damn Phil Hughes..i could get a girl before you wont get caught in the gully again in a test match but luckily for you, you can practice getting out in County cricket now
#useless
More importantly, summers here and that means epic test matches, if you discount last year's Ashes..this year we got India. Now I'm gonna cop a whole lot of crap for going for Australia but I'm big enough and ugly enough to cop it and say that India wont win the test series in Australia AGAIN and continue their little jinx run
Not sayin Australia's gonna win but i think it'd end up 1-1. Thats my predictions, now let the haters hate.
Big talking points about dropping Huss and/or Ponting..I kind of agree wit the Ponting call but selectors made their call, everyone should just get over it and move on! I'm happy that the new selection team are making slightly harsh decisions with dropping Usman and Hughes but unfortunately Hughes had his written all over the wall on the plane back from South Africa.
Team got released today and the final 11 is set, with Mitchell Starc and Dan Christian missing out and Ed Cowan and Ben Hilfenhaus back in. I'm a little surprised but not at the same time regarding Cowan only because he's playing well in the Sheffield Shield and selectors never used to reward consistent performances this quickly, opening batsmen wise anyways.
Hilfenhaus's an interesting debate, majority of people remember his Ashes campaign which was disappointing and see it as him being in the way of a up and coming star in Mitchell Starc but as good as Starc was bowling in the Sheffield Shield and Ryobi Cup, he wasn't that impressive in the test match when you take into account, Pat Cummins's test debut as well as James Pattinson's.
In that sense, i commend you John Inverarity and other selectors.
Now just to see if Australia can do the job against India!
Thats my predictions, now let the haters hate.

Los(T) your way there abit Carlos?
How far have you fallen Carlos Tevez? Amazing player, tremendous work ethic but clearly brain explosions have unfortunately scuttled this champion players ability to again, (i believe anyways) in the EPL. Before i start to abuse him again, let me give credit where credit is due This guy is a star..alot of goals in not alot of games and also those goals were off top notch, whether its playing for Boca Juniors or the heights of the Red Devils, Tevez knew how to find the back of the net. His work ethic on the pitch is second to none.. My scouts, who occasionally go under the moniker of Wikipedia has occasionally informed me that his performance on the training pitch is just, for a lack of a better word, wow. Now, with the good, occasionally, comes the bad and here it is.. A) he looks umm interesting, yes i know harsh but hey, tell me one person whos gonna disagree with me b) seriously tho, he looks..no I'm kidding, he often plays/lives in a different world At United, from certain reports, he tried to strong-arm Sir Alex into a new deal but good ol Fergie wouldnt and would commence talking about a new deal when he wanted to, but unfortunately for Carlos, that wasnt good enough and he spat the dummy and packed his bags, said catch ya cuz to Old Trafford and drove his shiny new car to Eastlands. Once and for all making him the sworn enemy of United, the blue side of Manchester. There, he scored, once again plenty goals and did the team thing on the field BUT off the field, it was the same Carlos Tevez of red..putting in his transfer requests, taking out his transfer requests and all of that shenanigans. But the cherry on top of the cake came in the form of refusing to come on as a subsitute in a recent UCL game against Bayern Munich. This resulted in fights with the coach, Roberto Mancini, who at the time stated that Tevez would never play for Man City under him ever again and his own country man, who looked disinterested when listening to Tevez's reasons. Now thanks to his brain explosion, he's on a current 2 week ban and on 'gardener's duty'..which is basically getting his weekly, enormous wage but hes not allowed anywhere near the Eastland grounds. Looking at the big picture, that's not such a bad way to do things but for someone who loves the game as much as he does........not really worth having a sad and refusing to come on as a subsitute issit Carlos? Tune in soon for a video blog recap of our indoor soccer grand final win and also a preview of the Rugby world cup against NZ and France. Til then S'porters

A Suma-sault to the opposition!
Woo! my first foray into a heading thats reminscient of the useless cliche newspaper article titles..
but more importantly, Peter Sumich has jumped ship to come to Fremantle to coach and its good news for all thats involved in the port club, but you gotta ask why now Suma?
You said you were headhunted in 05, but didn't want to go because the Eagles had just lost the 2005 grand final but come on Suma, you can be honest, you didnt wanna work with Chris Connolly! i dont really blame you
Then again in 07 but the judd and cousins nonsense had begun and you didnt want to leave the eagles in that state..AND again in 2010 but you wanted to stay on for one more year because you didn't want to leave them when they were down..good loyal man you are Sumich.
Yet when the Eagles had a breakthrough season, you are like um cya John..cheers take care!
I'm definitely not complaining because having a 1-2 hit combo in our coaching ranks with two very experienced coaches can only do good things for the club. I hope your coaching expertise came along with you down the highway
On behalf of all Freo's s'porters (See what i did there?), id like to wish you a warm welcome and here's to not getting booed when your down the coffee strip in Fremantle next.
Btw for those who aren't familiar with Suma's playing/coaching credentials then cast your eyes down for a quick summary!
Peter Sumich
- Played 150 games for WCE and kicked 514 goals (HOLY JESUS!)
- 2 Premierships with the WCE in '92 and '94
- 1 Premiership with South Fremantle in '97
- Coached South Fremantle in 2000-2002,his last game was a grand final loss to East Perth in   2001.
- Joined the Eagles in 2002 as an assistant coach, taking part in the 2005 GF loss to the Sydney Swans and avenged that loss with the 2006 AFL Premiership against the aforementioned team.
- NOW Fremantle senior assistant coach
Good times ahead S'porters..not too distant future, watch out for posts re: Tevez and an all important video blog!

Not all fun and games playing Goose..is there Campbell?
Couple of weeks ago, 4 of the Gold Coast Suns boys went to Thailand for their end of season footy trip to let loose and have a good time,Campbell Brown, Maverick Weller,Joel Wilkinson and Jacob Gilbee. For 3 of these boys, its their first trip and something to enjoy and look forward to.
Now I'm not fully sure about the actual story but from what i know..thank you Fox Sports..at the infamous Full Moon Party on a beach off Thailand, young Maverick (I'm assuming another kid who's parents were gobsmacked by Top Gun) Weller was recognised by a fellow Australian at the party which is quite amazing considering I have no idea what number the kid even wears..
Well long story short, that Australian had a few strong words exchanged with Maverick and Campbell Brown stepped in and a few words turned into a punch-up..as it usually ends up with Campbell. Unfortunately one of the people involved in the punch-up was a plain clothed officer, which means Campbell Brown and Maverick ended up behind bars for that night.
The Gold Coast top dogs, whom i feel made their mind up about whats going to happen to Campbell Brown, called the boys back for a 'review on what happened'.
Lo and behold, 2 nights ago, they stripped Campbell Brown of his vice captaincy for a period of 12 months.
Bit harsh don't you think? For a senior player who was looking after his younger teammate from getting pummelled.
Gold Coast hierarchy, please have a good hard look at yourself..what was he meant to do and from now on end, you're more or less saying to senior players..Hey, if you're in an argument or if you see one of your younger players in an argument or fighting, then please stand back and take photos or write a farkin article about it..
BTW not saying that I'm a senior player at a football club!!
I reckon it all comes down to the fact that clubs are stopping the traditional Mad Monday every year and this creates an illusion in the players heads that they got to go nuts overseas to let loose and that's where these problems begins..
These players are grown men, well apart from Fev, who know how to handle themselves cos they're professional players.
It'd all be sorted or this mess could be side-swiped if clubs just let their players live a little..it's after the season where they (most of the them anyways) played hard solid footy for 6 months..
Jeez they aren't robots u know

Well done Dane Swan, AFL Brownlow Medallist of 2011

Water off a Swan's Back
So Dane Swan won the Brownlow for 2011..
Some may see it as a shock seeing as the favourite for the award,Chris Judd was on some ridiculously short odds to become the 4th three-time Brownlow Medalist in the game's history. Funnily enough, the second favourite for the award, Adam Goodes was also in line to join that exclusive three-time Brownlow winner circle should he have won.
Thanks for that Goodes, had my well-earnt money on you to join that group.....
Swan, in my opinion, didn't have as much of a dominating season as he did last year when he was the overwhelming favourite to take out his first Brownlow medal, but he still managed to average 31 disposals a game this year and even that was with missing a game due to injury and clearly playing under duress before he jetted off to the high altitude city of Arizona to fix the injury..but hey he killed it after coming back so it must work like a charm..
Never really got that..high altitude = shortness of breathe = injuries being fixed......hmmm right.......
Nathan Brown definitely wouldn't say that it worked, seeing as his season was written off after getting injured again in Arizona, but that's another story
Quietly, I'm happy that Sam Mitchell didn't poll the most votes..it would have been terrible for him to have 'won' the Brownlow then give it up again for what seems like a bull decision from the Match Review Panel..
BUT, in midst of all that..
Well done to Swanny for the win, champion player..laconic person..body FULL of tattoos..it kind of sums up the un-orthodox AFL player doesn't it?
On a medal-flavoured post, Marc Murphy won the AFL Coaches Association's Player of the Year award last night and as an early tip, get onto Marc Murphy for next years' Brownlow Medal betting..
The umpires are always one year behind the coaches..just saying, as you can see for yourself below
              AFL Coaches Association          Brownlow
2010     Dane Swan                                Chris Judd
2011     Marc Murphy                             Dane Swan
One point before I leave you,
Dane Swan mentioned in his speech that he met his current girlfriend (See above for photo) whilst running into her at a pub in Melbourne and she's stayed with him after 4 years..
Just a quick favour Swanny, PLEASE let me know which pub you were at and I'm booking my ticket to Melbourne, one way!
