    The pungent stink of alcohol and body fluids is enough to make weaker men faint, but the feisty—even a little fighty athmosphere inside the clandestine tavern, smoothed with music and laughter, makes up for it. Jack downs a glass of muddied rum and snatches a bottle from a nearby man, way too drunk to realize or take offense to that.   “Y’know what I hate about Port Royal?”   Miss Pallas looks only moderately intrigued. No matter.   “That it is starkly evident by a mere glance at this city that you English folk not only don’t know how to enjoy life, but want no one else to.”   He shows her around with an ample, theatrical gesture—then, looking back into her eyes, the jade-green color of his own seems torched alive by the dancing lamplight.

    “If you hold some sort of power over this once-blessed island, you really should make it a life mission to have more taverns like this built. Restore it to how it was back when pirates ran it.”

          A CURIOUS SITUATION. Caught in a tavern with infamous pirate, nestled in bustling tavern littered with drunken patrons. Not the true chaotic nature renown to pirates, yet enough to cause woman to lift the fabric of her skirt to avoid it touching unclean floorboards, but to also assist movement. To allow her ability to remain close for comfort as taverns were not her favourite place in the world. Serene leant closer, to listen &&. gave a slow, unsure nod at his words.  ❛  Oh, that is only certain members of society who wish that. From my experience, these members attempted to take away any joy I had.  ❜

          ❛  Perhaps I’ll speak to the governor on your behalf.  ❜  WHAT AN IDEA. Thrilling, exciting, positively charming. Though a curious gleam did bring itself to her gaze as it followed him &&. entertaining antics. A true man of his legend.  ❛  He might not be thrilled with a large abundance of taverns springing up all over the place, yet maybe a few wouldn’t hurt.
