       matthew takes winter’s hand in his own, intertwining their fingers together under the sheets and squeezing gently to reassure him that everything would work out. “trust me, i don’t like it either and would love to go on a longer trip with you my sweet lovely baby,” he continues to run his thumb over the younger’s lower lip and gazing at him affectionately. when winter mentions the virgin islands, a soft chuckle leaves his lips as a small smile appears on his own lips. “sounds lovely then perhaps we could head to thailand - i hear they’ve got lovely beaches to die for.”

“ well, why aren’t you? you’re a grown man, matthew. you can do whatever the hell you want, you know?” winter reminds the older, a look of mild irritation on his face. the blonde hates having to share matthew’s time with others, whether it’s work or family related. it’s like he’s permanently stuck in the third spot when it comes to his lover’s list of priorities, no matter what he does. so damn frustrating. “thailand? you’d rather go there? well, i don’t really care where we go, as long as it’s warm.” and as long as they could spend lots of private time together, without having to worry about bumping into a familiar face. “ oh, yeah? do you wanna fuck me on one of those lovely beaches?” he inches closer, whispering into the other’s ear with a sultry voice, a cheeky grin playing on his lips. “ tell me, daddy. would you like that?”

“i talk too much? well, my mouth isn’t otherwise occupied right now, so what else do you suggest i do with it?” the comeback quip came out fast, unfiltered. it was too much fun to tease ashe, his eyes catching on the redness of the tips of his ears. he tried not to think too long on how much he enjoyed to see the other man flushed from head to toe, spread out on the sheets. what he hadn’t expected was for ashe to bite back, the smirk on his face slowly recovering after he chewed on the words. while he had been brazen in his approach, he decided to be more cautionary now, lest he close the door for good with his cocky attitude. minjae crossed his arms, humming as he glanced upward. “would you really want me to seek service somewhere else?” the question flew back, and minjae wondered how much he should admit. he had to be willing to give some concessions, adding, “maybe i just like to get your engine going, even if you haven’t been able to fix mine. there’s something about you that makes me want to give you one more chance.” he held up a singular finger. “those doe eyes are very deceiving, you know.” and it was far too easily to fall into them. 

a deep pink hue blossoms from beneath the collar of his overall, moving rapidly across his cheeks. he hates the effect the other male has on him, knowing fully well that messing with him is nothing but a game for minjae, his so-called flirting included. “like, you could zip it! would make you a lot more tolerable too!” ashe fires back, sputtering nervously. reaching out, he grabs an oily rag off the hood of the car he has been working on, attempting to wipe his hands. not because they were particularly dirty, but more so to keep his fidgety hands occupied somehow. “ does it matter what i want? i mean, knowing you, you’d just do the opposite of what i want. trying to get a rise out of me for shits and giggles,” he points out, with a humorless laugh. especially now that he feels like it’s abundantly clear that he has a thing for the annoying rich boy. a stupid crush he can’t wait to get over. wouldn’t have slept with him otherwise, because casual sex just isn’t for him. “ my engine? god, you’re so... so... fucking cringey.” ashe scrunches up his features, pulling a face. “ well, there isn’t going to be another time. there shouldn’t have even been a first time.” one time is an honest mistake, a bad decision, but two in a row would make him an utter fool. “ deceiving? i’m not deceiving anyone. you’re the one playing games, minjae. i don’t get why, or what the hell you want from me. i mean, you’ve already had me, so shouldn’t you be prowling for your next prey?”

operating outside of the law like noeul did came with its consequences, yet he had no regrets about the path that he had carved for himself and the members of elixir. he practiced his own form of justice, having spent so long in the gutter that he had grown tired of being told to accept scraps and to embrace the filth and grime while those more privileged crushed him beneath their heel. but his intention was never to drag anyone unwillingly down the rabbit hole with him. vesper was a bystander, someone that stood in the sun and could hold his head high in the light of day. he needed to be kept unmarred. those doe eyes need not be exposed to the worst of noeul’s world, to the worst of him. “i’ll be fine.” the assertion came through a shaky exhale. “i don’t do hospitals. best that you not ask why. you’re already too involved. we need to get you out of here before the wrong people remember your face and associate you too closely with me.” 

in hindsight, he should have known that the infamous crime lord most likely has his own ‘medical staff’ to help fix him up at home during a crisis. showing up at the hospital with these kind of wounds is far too risky. in his line of work, it’s best to avoid difficult questions as much as possible. “ that’s okay, i think i have an inkling. alright,  if you’re totally sure, i’ll just drive you to your house,” vesper nods, though he keeps his gaze fixed on the gash, a look of concern remains etched into his features. “ i could clean it for you at home. not an expert by any means, but i know basic first aid. so, i can help, if needed,” he offers, holding his car door open for the handsome older male. the wrong people remembering his face? it’s almost like he’s stuck in a terrible b-movie about the mafia. how is noel okay with going through this shit every day? maybe it’s because he grew up financially privileged, but he can’t imagine putting your life on the line to this extent for a job. “ am i... am i in danger?” he questions, feeling his heart skip a beat at noel’s comment. “ but i’m just a lawyer. there’s no point in getting rid of me, right? everything happend so fast just now, i didn’t see a thing!”
