Spritz is getting put down tomorrow. I don’t think he’ll even make it through the night. I’ll stay with him until the morning but I doubt he’ll last that long. If I was able to get him to an emergency vet and have him put to sleep right now I would in an instant but I have no way to get to one so I just have to watch him suffocate to death. It’s horrible. I’m sorry I couldn’t save you Spritz.

Took him to the vets today. Long story short, he’s very ill and he’s not going to get any better. It’ll only be a matter of days before I have to take him back there and say goodbye. I’m just hoping and praying I’ll know when the time is right, because I want to keep him by my side as long as possible, but I don’t want him to start having an awful time. I can’t imagine being without Spritz, I’m going to miss him so much.

First time using his nebuliser the other day… It was pretty terrifying honestly, I was so scared he was gonna die in that thing. But he was right as rain in the end! Still nervous about using it though, I really hope it works.

This was Spritz on his third birthday earlier this year! Apparently, only 5% of pet rats in the UK live to the age of three years or more, so I feel very lucky to have had him this long. It’s unlikely he’ll have another birthday, so I tried to make it extra special for him. I think he had fun.
