A sandwich is any food that is kept on another food item which prevent the person holding it from getting their hands dirty or at the very least provide a container for the ingredients. Basically anything with bread as part of it is a sandwich. Taco? Sandwich. Burrito? Sandwich. Pizza? Sandwich. Thank you for coming to my ted talk now let me take a moment to prepare my funeral

Tabletop commander players: how many of you (pandemic nonwithstanding) actually follow the commander banlist?
Cuz I see a lot of complaints about it, and as a ttrpg player where every rule is taken with a grain of salt, a comprehensive peer review and an exhaustive amendment process, I'm surprised you guys don't just ignore it if you don't like it

Ryan Guldemond's voice can express emotions I can't even think of
Also his, Molly's, and Jasmin's ability to perfectly sync together is incredible and amplifies the Secret Emotions by orders of magnitude

Mother Mother albums ranked by how much they scare me
7. Dance And Cry. It has very sweet and nice moments (It's Alright, Get Up), and Ryan is being as true to the heart as possible. There are some emotional peaks (Bottom Is A Rock, Give Me Back The Night), but they're more "fuck it" than angry. There are also super personal songs (So Down, Keep) that keep the album grounded in its creation.
6. Very Good Bad Thing. It feels very personal, and there's a nice emotional curve to it. There are some super angry songs (Get Out The Way, Have It Out) but they're balanced by kind of mournful songs (I Go Hungry, Kept Down), and also some calm, classical guitar-ish songs (Alone And Sublime, No One To Nothing).
5. Oh My Heart. It's so...young. It has a lot of feelings to express, but it does so in a calmer way than most of the other albums. Its most despairing points (Burning Pile, Body) are expressed through orchestration, which makes it seem slower, less aggressive. It has its calm moments as well (Ghosting, Arms Tonite), but they still aren't high on self esteem and serve as reminders that even here, not all is as it should be.
4. Eureka. This is a natural evolution from O My Heart. The self-deprecation has changed form, changing to distancing from the world and strange fixations (The Stand, Baby Don't Dance). There are some sweetness-in-decay songs here like in O My Heart (Simply Simple, Getaway) but they carry a slightly different and more ominous tone.
3. No Culture. This bad boy can fit so much mental illness in it. Not unlike other albums, but this time there's more distortion (The Drugs, Free). It also feels more melancholy than other albums (Letter, Mouth Of The Devil).
2. Touch Up. Angery. This is the most flaunting not-rightness of their discography (Verbatim, Neighbor) and the most biting in the sad songs (Oh Ana, title track).
1. The Sticks. This one isn't fucking human. It has the least hope, and is what happens when you take Eureka and make it evil. It detests society (Business Man, Latter Days) and has a very electronic sound, but whereas VGBT used a lot of high-register electronics, The Sticks uses a lot of low-register, particularly in the bass (title track, All Gone) and it makes it sound terrifying.

I love Free by mother mother for many reasons but the one I'm currently all over is the "love let"s
Because there's two meanings to that. "Love let my nightmares turn into dreams" could be in the past tense, the nightmares already turned.
OR it could be a plea, and Ryan is begging for it to happen.
These give the song almost opposite feelings, on whether Ryan feels so vehemently that all his emotions have left him, or that he is so desperate to allow his love to calm him down.
This is especially interesting as a follow-up to Love Stuck, a song which is album tailored to lead into Free. Love Stuck's "I've got to give my love to my soul and let go" reaches something of a conclusion here. If you go with the past-tense interpretation, he's done it. But he's not happy about it (look no further than "a bloody war behind my eyes... I'll come out right on the other side"). With the pleading interpretation, he still hasn't found his happiness, but it seems like he has been trying in vain to let go and is now overwhelmed by his internal turmoil.
Anyways I love this song thank you for coming

Mother mother songs do NOT all have the same message they have moved slowly from "Fuck everything I hate it all" to "Well this is just trauma here" to "Actually some things are good"
