Since I've been kicked out of the OOC blog I'll post this here
this was never about making a choice to STAY anywhere and I hate that it was made to look that way. The intention was for people to do both. We never, ever asked anyone to leave.

Rumple looked up when he heard a rustling nearby and spotted his son. He took the few steps over to him and realized for the first time that there was no longer any pain in his shin. That could only mean one thing. Looking down at his hands, he saw the familiar green tint of skin and the long black fingernails that were the signature of the Dark One. He'd reverted, and that couldn't be a good thing for anyone. Walking over to his son, Rumple was uncertain if he would even speak to him since their last interaction had been less than pleasant. "Been quite some time since I've... looked this way," he said with a half-hearted chuckle.
Into the Great Unknown // Neal & Rumple
Neal could see his father through the trees wondering the beach. He had seemed to lost and confused, and it had been a while since he had seen his own father like this. Neal wanted to call out to him, to allow his father to tell him that everything was okay, but he could not bring himself to do so. He was too hurt by everyone around him. Instead, Neal slowly walked up, just so he was able to be seen by his father, and waited for his father to approach him.

Into the Great Unknown // Neal & Rumple
Rumple had no idea what had happened. All he had were flashes of memories, falling through a portal, and ending up... wherever this was. It was as if the entirety of Storybrooke had opened up and everything had fallen through. He didn't know who had been taken, but his first thought as he tried to get his bearings was Belle. Where was she? Was she here? Was she okay? It couldn't have been good for her to fall through a portal while she was pregnant. How many people were here? For the first time that he could remember, the Dark One was in absolute state of panic. He looked around, trying to find a familiar face and not even particularly caring who that familiar face was.

It hurt worse than anything, hearing Bae say that he had felt abandoned even before he'd let him go. That being with him as the Dark One was the same as being without him altogether. He'd done it all for him, and that was what killed him the most. Something he had done to protect his son and keep him from being killed in war had cost him everything. But at least they were both here, alive. Even if they could never be alright again. "It isn't you, Bae," he assured him. He didn't know who the Darlings were, but the rest he could assure him on. "It was your mother. And me. You deserved so much better... so much more than us."
Kept in the dark | Neal and Gold
“You could have told me!” Neal said as the tears had started to fall down his face. “For years I had felt alone and abandoned and that was even before you let me go.” Neal sunk to the floor. It was all a bit too much to handle, everything was. He now had a brother, his mother abandoned him for a new family and his father was now starting his own new family and Neal’s own family was more torn apart than anything. Emma was with the Sheriff and Henry was torn between two mothers. “Its not that our family isnt enough is it?” Neal said coughing down the tears, “Its me. I can’t have a family or be apart of one. First it was ours, then the Darlings and now my own little family. Its me isn’t it. No wonder Tamara broke things off.”

So the boy had heard a story or two over the years. Rumple wondered why Jones had never told his son that the man who had killed his mother was her husband, the father of her first child. But if he hadn't said anything to the boy, then Rumple certainly wasn't about to. He didn't seem to know who Bae was, and he was more than happy to keep it that way. "You can leave now." His voice was more threatening now. If Orion didn't make himself scarce soon, Rumple would be compelled to use force.
Curiosity: Orion and Rumple
“Yes you do or have you forgotten when you murdered my mother?” Orion bit back. He had often wondered why the Dark One had chose to kill Milah and not his father when he was more of a threat. Once again he thought back to that day. He remembered Rumple and his mother arguing about something before he killed her. Then it came to him. “Bae…” he said after his moment of thinking. “You where arguing about someone called Bae. Was he someone else that you killed?” From his memory Orion knew that he hadn’t killed the person he spoke about but knew that it would cause a reaction in Rumple.

"I don't have to tell you anything," Rumple bit at the young man. He didn't much feel like explaining to him that his mother had abandoned her first family in order to run off with his father and apparently play house with him on that ship. "This is my shop, and I reserve the right to tell anyone I wish to get out. Unless you would like to be charged with trespassing. Or deal with me." He tapped his cane on the side of the counter threateningly.
Curiosity: Orion and Rumple
“No..” he replied eyeing Gold more curiously than ever. “I’m not leaving till I have answers.” He moved to the other side of the counter and jumped up then sat down as if to get comfy and show Gold that he wasn’t leaving. “There is more to this feud you have against my father than my mother isn’t there? Why did you kill her? Was it for that bean?”

Rumple just thanked the gods that Belle already knew about this and it was only Bae's rage he would have to deal with tonight. He had been so afraid, for hundreds of years, that this would happen. That he would find out that he had killed his mother. He hated himself for it, and there was nothing he could do to make it right or fix it in any way at all. He had lost his son now, he was sure of it. At least he had found him. Even if he was never forgiven... he had the opportunity to tell his son what he'd wanted to ever since he let him go. Whether or not that landed on deaf ears. "I'm not the one who didn't think our family was enough, Bae!" he shouted back. "Your mother... she promised me she didn't believe I was a coward. But when I deserted for you, she gave up on us. On you. She left you alone in the house to go out drinking when you were so small you probably don't even remember it! Why do you think it was so easy for her to leave you? To run off with some bloody pirate?" He sighed. "I shouldn't have done what I did. The curse was new and I hadn't yet learned to control it. And I'm sorry, Bae. I'm sorry, son. But your mother was no saint."
Kept in the dark | Neal and Gold
When his father had come to the door he didn’t actually believe that he could be any more angry than he already was, but it turns out that this night was full of surprises. “Belle is asleep,” Neal shouted, “I really don’t care about your new family since you didn’t care for my mother!” Neal went to walk away but something inside him made him turn back around and face the man that he had allowed himself to trust. “You let go of me,” Neal said in between tears, “You killed my mother because she wanted nothing more to do with you. You could have let her live! Why was our old family not good enough for you? Why do you want to push me away with all these lies and secrets and how is it that my own papa couldn’t let my mother go, or keep hold of me?” Neal could see that his father was hurt by this, hurt because of his actions or because of the fact that his lies were all coming to the surface, Neal did not know. “She wouldn’t have let go!” Neal screamed to him, and from the sounds of it, the street.

Gold shook his head when Orion asked what his son had to do with anything. Apparently he knew less than he thought. He didn't know that he had once been married to his mother, that they had a child together. "Nothing," he said under his breath, trying to get a fell for this young man and what exactly it was he wanted. Besides to see him dead, that was. "You can leave my shop now." He didn't want to deal with him anymore, nor his inane questions. They would more than likely be answered soon enough, and Gold wanted to be prepared to defend himself by then.
Curiosity: Orion and Rumple
At first Orion smiled when the the Dark One started to get angry, he even smirked, but then he remembered the price of that anger. The price that he last saw paid with his mothers blood. “What does your son have to do with anything?” Orion shouted. In his own anger he noted the regret fall on the crocodile’s face. Then something dawned on him but he wasn’t sure. “Or what does he have to do with me?” He remembered a look on his mothers face she sometimes gave him when she thought he wouldn’t notice or was too busy playing on deck. She often looked as if she had lost something when she looked at him, always sad as if missing someone from long ago. He hadn’t thought much of it but now it was like a nagging feeling in the back of his mind that was coming close and closer to the front.

Rumple turned and nodded to Belle when she said she thought there were candles in the drawers. He wasn't certain how many candles he had in the house, but hopefully it would be enough to get some decent light going in here. He could easily fix this whole problem with magic, of course, but because of his promise to Bae his hands were tied. He wasn't allowed to use magic unless it was an emergency. And he wasn't certain what it would take to convince his son of what was and wasn't an emergency. Taking some candles out of the cupboard, he put them on the counter. "We could start a fire in the fireplace, if you wish," he said, glancing at Belle and smiling.
Darkness Finds Me // Rumbelle
Darkness was the only thing Belle truly feared because she knew that it could be both the physical darkness or the darkness of someone’s heart, like she had seen with Regina. Rumple had been turned darker by the curse he had inside of him, but there was still goodness there inside his heart because of the man he had once been. But with Regina, she had never been cursed and only had hatred there. There was little goodness left in her after she had drained it all. Nodding as Rumple said they should find some candles, she went toward the kitchen, which seemed like the logical place to keep them. “I think I saw some in here as well,” she said, going toward one of the drawers.

Rumple made his way to the front door, worried by the frantic pounding on it. Who could be here at this time of night? And then he heard his son's voice... and he realized. One way or another, he had found out about Orion. And, gods forbid, about Milah. Opening the door, he shushed him and ushered his son inside. "Bae! Belle is asleep!" he chided, more avoiding the issue than doing anything else. This was going to be the worst conversation of his life, and that was saying something.
Kept in the dark | Neal and Gold
Even in the darkness, Neal could find his way back to his fathers house. He was filled with anger and rage that he was there in a matter of minutes. When he had reached the front door, he didn’t even bother to look for his keys that Rumple had given him, he just banged on the door till there was an answer. “Get out here!” Neal screamed, “Get out here now you liar! You said you had changed and you haven’t! Why lie to me papa!”

"Never harmed anyone, you say?" Gold's blood was boiling now. Things he hadn't allowed himself to think of in centuries rising to the surface. Milah, and every wretched thing she had ever said to him. Everything she had done, how she had completely changed the moment he came home just because leaving the war in order to be a father wasn't good enough. "Tell that to my son!" He regretted it the moment it left his mouth. Now Orion would know he had a son. He would ask questions... and eventually... Bae would know.
Curiosity: Orion and Rumple
“So was my mom!” Orion shouted as loud as he could. Every time he remembered his mother he could only see how loving and caring she had been throughout his life. “She was kind and never harmed anyone who didn’t deserve it. You killed her and for what? A magic bean and because she loved my dad. Why did that bother you so much or was it your intent to separate a child from a their parent?”

I don't care who his parents are. That is, quite literally, ancient history. But no matter whether or not they can, I don't much like having two people planning my demise.
A mayor's job is never-ending
And what exactly do you plan to do about this visitor?
Or is that the real reason you’re here?

"She was innocent!" Rumple defended. He couldn't believe this little poor excuse for a person. For all he knew, the woman he was talking about could have died. And he simply didn't care that his father had done such a thing. "And I sure as hell didn't know about you!" If he had, he wouldn't have killed Milah. That much was certain. Rumplestiltskin may have been a monster then, but he was never the kind of person to take a parent from a child. As unfortunate as this young man would have been to have Milah for a mother, and even worse to have Hook for a father, it simply would not have happened.
Curiosity: Orion and Rumple
Orion noticed the little split second of fear that came across the Crocodile’s face. Although he knew the fear couldn’t be a result of bringing up his father he was curious to what it was for. “Cold blood?” Orion spat more angry than he had ever been in his life. “You where the one who killed his love and left me without a mother. I would say that his actions would be anything other than cold.” His father had taught him many things and one of those that revenge was something that was never done in cold blood but it would be just that: bloody.

Hm. Reminds me of something.
Mood swings and cravings in one night...should be...fun?
Not really…it’s about love and sacrifice. About remaining loyal to someone, even in the end.

Seems a bit dark to read to a child.
Mood swings and cravings in one night...should be...fun?
It’s sad in the end because the rabbit got thrown away after the boy he belonged to caught scarlet fever…but he turned into a real rabbit.

That... sounds nice.
Mood swings and cravings in one night...should be...fun?
It was just a little story I was reading to Rosie about a velveteen rabbit.
