It's funny because I think Taylor had drawn and redrawn her boundaries with fans a bunch of times and her boundaries are pretty aligned with what would be popular with people her age at the time and fans just don't accept them anymore.

When she was a teen, she did almost curate a parasocial relationship with her fans. However, that seems to be pretty normal/predictable for a teenager who became famous. She did build that relationship, but when things were getting to be too much, she figured out how to take some of it back. Not in a "I hate you" way, but in a "I need my space too" way.

She doesn't really post personal things online anymore and it seems like home is almost always off limits. It seems like her current line is "personal life vs. work life". Travis is on her IG, but at her job. The random TikTok from the SB after party was in a public space so not encroaching on her private spaces. Outside of a YouTube short, there is really nothing personal shared from private spaces.

Her pushback on the interviewer for the POTY interview about her current relationship being public is important: she does not view showing up and supporting someone you love as sharing something private (and she is right). She doesn't post things from games, the most we see is of her with other players partners. She is there in a private capacity, but she is one of the biggest stars on the planet so it will draw attention.

But it seems like some fans have not realized these are her boundaries. Her personal life is still really private. I think the extent of not known things about them that has been shared is...they watch Monday Night Football together (and that was a fairly safe assumption to make based on Travis's job and the fact he has a football podcast). Like, we don't know a lot about what happens behind closed doors (and in fact have seen less of them in a private setting even if that is not pictures of them, but of their spaces) since they got together. Truly drawing a line around things. It's how to protect your space and give yourself peace without cutting an arm off.

In short: Taylor did share a lot or open herself up a lot when she was younger. And as someone 3.5 years younger than her, she was behaving normal for the time. Now she has shifted her boundaries and also kind just uses SM in a very age-normal way and some people still hold 16 year old Taylor up as the way she must always be.
