Perhaps this has been asked already, but do any of you know what exactly is up with your host that's causing this? Seems like an odd situation to be in. Is it a mental condition?

"Causing this"? Are you referring to how there are four of us for one host? We almost certainly depended on our host's brain to decide exactly how many of us would be generated, but it's difficult to say if any disorders are the cause of that. Compared to others around them, they may behave a bit strangely, but we haven't for certain identified any conditions... though some may be likely.
