can you explain the appeal of fitz/dex for me? i get it kind of, but not to the extent you do, i think

Sorry I took me a whiel to get to this. Life was life.

there are a few reasons for me, but it can be different for others.

Their color palettes go really well, in my opinion.

I loved their "revelry," as Dex would say when we all knew it was one-sided. Fitz was just chilling while Dex got flustered about the little things Fitz did, like breathing.

I think they're perfect for each other. One of my main things is that they need each other. Fitz needs Dex to help show him that you don't have to be the perfect other than someone to be because you are already perfect. Fauls and all. And Dex needs Fitz to know that he isn't always alone.

Dex knows imperfection on a personal level because of his family and how their world views them. Even after all that, Dex sees how perfect imperfection can be and when things need fixing. Thats what Fitz needs to learn. I think Dex is the perfect person to teach him that.

I also get the strong feeling that Dex thinks he's alone. His friends always leave him behind, and he's stuck at home working on things they want him to do. I don't think Dex gets a lot of thanks for his hard work. We've also seen him open up to Sophie about what happened to him during the kidnapping, but it went right back to Sophie not giving Dex a second thought. That feeling is so incredibly lonely.

We have seen how loyal Fitz can be, and I think that is just what Dex needs. Someone who will stick around and be there when he needs them to be. if Fitz shows he's just as loyal of a friend to Dex as he with sophie them I believe Dex will see he isn't alone.

4. They are my companions. When I started to ship them, I was going through a difficult time in life, and reading and seeing things where they were happy together made me feel happy.
