With Nora Heidemann winning the girl's chess category, I've been seeing the whole "Trans women in women's chess" conversation pop up again, and as a transfem I have to say, every time the topic of trans women in women's chess comes up I do not like the way most trans-supportive (Including trans!) People talk about it
Most well-meaning allies don't seem to understand the reason why this is even a debate between us and TERFs, while obviously I am not denying there can be misogynistic reasons for having specifically a women-only chess category, I think people are way too eager to gloss over the fact that a lot of these women's categories exist to create a safe-space from men and encourage more women to play chess, not necessarily because they think men are better than women at chess
And it seems to be a lot harder for people to actually argue for us being allowed to play women's chess categories when they have to make an argument stressing how trans women actually experience misogyny and deserve a safe-space from it too! It's just painful to see everyone making the same stupid "Oh so TERFs are saying that men are more intelligent than women 🙄" joke (Making it about anyone but trans women) over and over because if you actually look at what they're saying, that's not their reasoning behind banning us from women's chess
This is what you get after just 10 minutes of searching radfems' blogs with the keyword "Chess":
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even barring the whole "Trans women are more likely to act like men and abuse cis women" argument, TERFs simply just believe that we have male privilege by virtue of being AMAB, the closest they get to saying we have an innate advantage is saying that we are encouraged to be better growing up and so we act better, even then, it's not them saying that men are inherently more intelligent, and the issue isn't the fact that they're pointing out how misogyny affects the way women play, the issue is that they're wrongly applying this to a minority of women who are deemed as inherently male
If you cannot even point this out and argue against it when commenting on trans women being banned from women's chess, you are just as susceptible to TERF rhetoric as they are.
Like I am sorry but if you're not a transfem then it doesn't matter how much this indirectly affects you, "TERFs are wrong because they think men are stronger than women" is just too easy for most of you to say, on top of completely missing the point, it's also just making this whole thing about anyone BUT the people it is targeting (Transfems), by talking about how they're just being misogynistic towards women as a whole (Glossing over the way they specifically target trans women with this)
Cis women can get away with supporting our exclusion from chess because they aren't directly affected by it, they actually benefit from having a minority of women they're privileged over to shun and boot out of spaces, making the conversation about how they're just being bigoted towards cis all women just re-enforces a world where cis women can openly harass trans women out of our own safe spaces with absolutely no consequences to them whatsoever
If you genuinely want to support us, if you truly are against banning us from women's chess, then you're going to have to be willing to stand up for us even if it doesn't benefit cis women in any way shape or form, or save them from anything, you need to stop giving into their prioritisation of cis women over trans women by doing exactly that (Prioritising cis women over us), because at the end of the day that's what they are aiming for anyway

I am Falestine, Jad Al-Haq, I am 37 years old, married, and I have a eight-month-old child named Youssef. I gave birth to him during the war during very harsh conditions that no human being can bear. I moved from the hospital immediately after giving birth to the tent in which we were staying after we were displaced to it after the Israeli bulldozers completely bulldozed my house. and my suffering did not start from here. Rather, it began since the beginning of the war, and I am still suffering. I cannot provide enough milk for my baby or diapers. Even medicines and vitamins are not available.
I ask you for your urgent help in disseminating the link to my family and communicating it to people interested and able to help us.  I didn't want to do it, but the tragic situation we are living in is what pushed me to do it.  I feel sad and helpless, after we had everything, we are now homeless on the streets, living in a tent next to a dilapidated public toilet and there is sewage, dirt and waste everywhere, we sleep on it!  We suffer from terrible heat, insects, scorpions, the danger of death, bombs and missiles, in addition to hunger of course, the danger of pollution and terrible diseases, especially the digestive, respiratory and reproductive systems!
.  My father and mother could not bear it any longer. My father had a stroke after losing his home and his place of work, and my mother suffers from chronic diseases and needs treatment.
Do you have the right to imagine that when you spend your life building for yourself and your children to live a decent life, all of this disappears in the blink of an eye, and now when you reach the age where you should rest, you are forced to start again!!?  But the most important thing now is to try to survive and protect your children from all the factors of death that surround us!  I ask everyone who has humanity or conscience to feel our situation and put themselves in our place.  How can someone who has lived with dignity all his life accept this?  We are slowly dying every day.
Your donation, no matter how small, can have a big impact.  It can provide a meal for my little one, a clean bottle of water, or a moment of safety under these difficult circumstances.  Every donation brings with it a ray of hope, alleviating our suffering and giving us the strength to face a new day.
I ask you to donate and support the steadfastness of the Gazan people, and share this campaign with your friends and families.  Together, we can make a difference and help my family get through this ordeal.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generosity and support.
Warm greetings,
Falestine

"Help sooad Family Survive & Rebuild in Gaza"
Vetted by gaza-vetters number in the list ✅365✅
Hello, my name sooad Muhammad, I am a 61-year-old mother and former school teacher from Gaza💔
Tumblr media
After the army entered the city, we went out to Rafah under the attack of planes and missiles. And the bullets that spare no one, we lived in torn tents that did not protect from the heat, the cold, or the rain. All the words in the world cannot describe what we have lived through. All I want is for you to look at me and my family with a merciful heart and help me.
Tumblr media
Before October 7th, I lived a humble life, dedicated to teaching and raising my children. But everything changed. Since that day, my family and I have been living in unimaginable conditions—without electricity, without clean water, without safety.
Tumblr media
Our home was destroyed, and we now sleep in a torn tent, exposed to the freezing cold. My children cry from hunger and fear. The markets are empty or unaffordable. Bread is now a luxury—I knead pasta just to make something to fill their stomachs
Tumblr media
Please open your heart and stand with us in this time of despair.
We are not asking for much—just a chance to survive. A blanket for the cold. A piece of bread. A roof that does not leak. A moment of peace for my children
Tumblr media
I am humbly asking for your help. Your donation, no matter how small, can give us warmth, food, and hope. It can help us survive these dark days and rebuild a life with dignity.
Your support means the world to me and my family.
Please donate 🙏
Tumblr media
All the destruction that you see, we live every day a hundred times, and we live hunger, death, and a life that has no taste of life

TME people should really be more mindful when reblogging intersex stuff because I keep noticing that even if they reblog from / claim to be transfeminists, they only ever reblog from intersex people who are TME and (most of the time) don't even understand what transmisogyny is, and then they end up reblogging transmisogynistic stuff under the guise of intersex activism...
Like literally I've seen blogs that support using TME/TMA, but then proceed to reblog from TME intersex blogs that are openly against that very thing, you do realise TMA intersex people exist right? Why does it take just being one other marginalised identity (in this case intersex) for you to ignore TMA people once again? I don't want this shit on my dash!!!
If you think you're being intersectional, maybe consider the intersection of being TMA and intersex specifically? Instead of just reblogging any intersex stuff you see and calling it a day.
As an intersex transfem I barely even consider myself part of the intersex community anymore because of how insidiously they downplay transmisogyny, constantly!!! Even my identity as an intersex transfem has been diluted so much into nothing, my experiences and struggles are invisible the moment I interact with TME (and sometimes even other TMA) intersex people... Just please consider our existence for 2 seconds I am begging you.
EDIT: Perisex people can and should reblog. Especially if you're TME

ISTG the trans DIY community needs to stop spreading the myth that self-medicating is harder for transmascs than transfems...
I can absolutely tell you from experience, getting my hands on both DIY E and T to give away to other people, not only is it a complete myth that self-medicating testosterone is hard, you'll get in trouble for it, it's risky, ETC ETC ETC, but it is in fact easier to get
Yes, DIY T is literally easier to get than DIY E! That has been my experience literally every time I've had to distribute it.
Genuinely, right now, you can Google "transmasc DIY HRT", click the first link, and you'll immediately be on a page where you're pointed to sources on where to find it!!!
Like IDK what else you want us to do, it is literally laid out right there for all of you! I'm getting really tired of transmascs who've probably not even so much as Googled DIY HRT lecturing transfems and treating us like we're being self-centred for recommending DIY to them, maybe if you listened for us for 2 whole seconds we would give you sources on where to easily and safely get T! But no it's easier for men to just sit there in their misery and get mad at women for trying to help IG 🙄

TBH, transfems really need to stop saying "you look cis" to each other like it's a compliment, I cannot believe it even became a compliment in the first place... Throw it in the trash! (Along with cis people LMAO)

TBH, a an intersex transfem I find it baffling that TME intersex people insist that it's intersexist to say thay them being mistaken for trans women isn't transmisogyny...
To me, if anything, it's more intersexist to try and latch onto any word but intersexism for the oppression we experience...
Like, whenever someone says "Intersex people AFAB can be affected by transmisogyny" I can't help but think: It's intersexism, the word you're looking for is intersexism...
That's not to say that the cis perisex people spewing hate towards intersex people aren't being transmisogynistic at all obviously what they're doing is rooted in transmisogyny, it's just that it's a huge stretch to say that transmisogyny-exempt intersex people can be transmisogyny-affected when transmisogyny-flavoured intersexism is happening in their direction based on the fact that they're intersex.
Just like how being called fat if you're not doesn't automatically make you fat or the primary target of fatphobia, or being called the n word if you're a dark-skinned brown POC (because racists sometimes can't tell the difference between a brown and black person) doesn't make you black or affected by anti-black racism...
If we can acknowledge that hate directed towards perisex trans people can't be intersexism (even if the people spewing the hate don't necessarily know they're trans) , then we can acknowledge that hate directed towards intersex people can only be intersexism, because it's happening based on the fact that they're intersex... Regardless of how it plays out specifically in a hate incident...
Not to downplay the significance of transmisogyny, but I just refuse to entertain the idea that the word intersexism can be shoved to the side and forgotten about when it's just as equally as important of a word... And for the most part, I've never experienced this type of harassment in public despite being TMA, that doesn't make me TME! Because there is more to transmisogyny than being called tranny by a stranger...

I know many other transfems have probably said this a million times already, and maybe I'm just old and screaming at clouds as I'm rapidly approaching 5 years since coming out, but I really am getting tired of the whole "Gender-affirming misogyny" "Ewphoria" jokes being endlessly thrown around in our community when we're experiencing any of the kind of misogyny that cis women would experience, as if it's some sort of brand new breathtaking experience for all of us, I honestly see it as a very subtle way to say that the misogyny we experience after transitioning doesn't hurt us as much (Do you ever see cis women making these kinds of jokes?), and that the misogyny we experience before transitioning doesn't even exist
It's not gender-affirming, it's not a middle finger to transphobes, it's being punished for being the "inferior" gender, it's the system working as intended.
It's also not a worse or more "true" womanhood experience, than being a non-passing trans woman, or a closeted trans girl who's unsafe to come out, or a trans girl who still thinks she's cis, or even a trans girl who grows old into a woman but still thinks she's cis, that we all have to resign miserably into making stupid "Ewphoria" jokes about to appease cis women
We all experience transmisogyny (Which I shouldn't have to say is a form of misogyny), it's just less recognised as misogyny when directed at women being simultaneously called men
Take it from someone who's been passing as a cis woman for years now, passing transfems are treated way better than non-passing transfems or transfems who haven't come out yet, because we're being visually identified as the group of women who have privilege over us! Misogyny without the transphobia is a different flavour of misogyny that we're usually used to (transmisogyny), don't get me wrong, you'd need adjust to it, but it's also a much more bland flavour, it has less ingredients in it
Misogyny without the transphobia is nowhere near as terrifying as transmisogyny, the violence and sexual abuse cis women face is nowhere near as terrifying and pervasive as the violence and sexual abuse we have to suffer beginning from childhood, even if we aren't out, because they DO notice and we DO suffer for it, and even barring dysphoria, it's a million times worse of an experience than passing for a cis woman as a trans woman
And most of all, I just want any newly out transfem reading this to know: You do not have to put the pain and suffering you experience from misogyny without the transphobia on such a high pedestal for cisfems, they don't CARE, they will always inevitably fall back into the belief that you experience less misogyny than them, because they see us as guests to womanhood, most of them probably haven't even HEARD of the word transmisogyny.
It's okay to complain about misogyny without the transphobia and get upset about it and be hurt and traumatised by it and express that, and it's also okay to recognise "Holy shit this is so much less terrifying than being in the closet", and you can just be mad about it while acknowledging that it's actually better than being treated like a transfem
Obviously, I get that passing very early on in your transition can be a new and scary experience, it was for me, and I get that you'd probably get very mixed feelings about being finally truly recognised as your gender while simultaneously experiencing violence for it, but you need to think about how much you're leaning on the ewphoria joke to cope with the fact that it sucks. It sucks that we're treated so awfully before transitioning and the light at the end of the tunnel is this...

I write to you from the heart of devastated Gaza, where nothing remains but pain and the faint echo of hope. We are enduring moments so cruel they defy description—surrounded by the rubble of our homes, the roar of bombardment, and a fear that never leaves our hearts.
I plead with you from the depths of my broken soul: do not abandon me in this ordeal. All I want is to protect my children and my wife, to lead them out of this hell into a safe place that embraces them.
Your donation is not merely assistance—it is the only hope I cling to in this darkness.

Please, do not turn away from my plea.

I keep thinking about the Matrix as a trans allegory, and this scene from the Animatrix always hauts me. This machine is protesting in the "million machine march" for the right to be treated with dignity and the very recognition of her humanity. In response, she is viciously assaulted and murdered, called a "skinjob" for daring to look like a woman. Her last words as she is being maimed are

Help Jamal Shamia family
Tumblr media
Jamal Shamia, Iam a criminal lawyer, lam suffering of many diseases hypertension and diabetic mellitus and Muscle spasms and always got shocked and coma .
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, I was injured in the war and suffered a very serious injury, which was a blood clot in the hip joint area, which caused him many infections and the infection spread in the area. is currently in Gaza, and my home was destroyed at the beginning of the war. We have lost security and peace. We have witnessed how a single rocket can destroy your entire life, both your past and your future. Our dreams have been shattered. Now the future is unknown and dark. There is no home, no basic life essentials, no job. We are now seeking to leave this country for a life abroad and to obtain security. We estimate our loss to be at least $50,000 to rebuild a home and start our lives anew.
Tumblr media
My wife, Mufida, is 62 years old. She traveled before the war to have surgery on her eye alone, and now she is stuck on the Egyptian side. She has no breadwinner and needs many medications and medical supplies.
After that, she suffered a broken hand due to the lack of necessary care for her. I want to collect money to go to her and support her.
Tumblr media
Rasha Jamal Shamia and her husband, Khalil Abu Samaan, have two children, Mira and Omar. They have been forced to flee their home in Gaza City and are now living in a tent in Rafah, far from everything they once knew. Their home, their children’s education, and their future—everything is gone. Their days are filled with fear, and their nights bring no rest. The constant sound of bombs haunts them, and they have no way to provide their children with the life they deserve
Tumblr media
Ahmad Jamal Shamia resides in Gaza and is a third-year student in dental school. He lost his education due to the devastating war in Gaza. He was studying at Al-Azhar University in Gaza, and his home was destroyed in the war. He is currently suffering from moving from one temporary shelter to another. Ahmad was a diligent, ambitious, and creative student who ranked first in his class. He didn't limit himself to what he learned in university. He attended courses and workshops online with Egyptian doctors to learn more and excel in his field. He always sought excellence and worked hard for it, and he loved helping all students. He now needs money to continue his education, which will cost him a lot of money since he will complete his studies in Egypt.

In short, what happened last night is as follows: The quadcopter (killer plane) came and landed on the roof of the tent and started making terrifying sounds, one of which was the sound of a child screaming, but that wasn’t the terrifying thing. The terrifying thing was seeing my sister putting her hand over her mouth to stifle her crying and fear, and her tears flooding her face. She couldn’t control herself from the intensity of her fear. She wet herself. I didn’t know what to say, because any movement we made meant being sniped. This is the life of a 6-year-old girl. Please donate to save my family and evacuate them from this hell or paypal here

I'm tired.. I've been trying to reach people to help me with my campaign for 3 days now.. There's no more flour in our house.. I have 4 children and my wife. If anyone would like to help us..
The other solution is to go to the death traps, the American-Israeli aid distribution centers, and I might return or die. Even now my children cry when I tell them about this. They are afraid that I will die and not return to them.
I know my campaign is for education and rent but I can't even afford to buy food anymore.
This is our campaign.
