I just finished s2 cause I had to be in the right mental space to watch the last couple episodes but THAT WAS AMAZING!!!! I'm so interested with the direction this remake is going. it already feels like it has its own distinct style- slightly moody and surreal but not overly melodramatic. tethered down by concrete themes of nature, music, architecture, etc.

TINAAAA SWEET ANGEL:((( I hope they focus on their relationship even more this season!!! I will say that part of me wishes there was slightly more conflict or at least an emotional response from tina seeing as nora basically gets no consequences for lying to her this whole time. but also nora will go through enough this season so....😭😭

Something I had in my notes as a Skam unpopular opinion after my first watch:
‘Eva’s character became confused after the first season. She became more stereotypical and we lost some of that depth I wanted to see in her finding her identity. ‘
I still do agree with this. The chriseva ship in the og (while very stereotypical of teenagers) felt rushed and like it needed more development so that we could understand Eva’s thought process especially after how we left their dynamic in s1.
What I’m loving about sram is how they are really taking the time to develop and let us see eva grow - she’s still having fun and exploring being herself, but at the same time we have discussions about how she feels about alcohol (which jonas brought up in the og but apart from that wasn’t really addressed), her moving on and being grounded without jakov, her opinion on Adam as in the new clip, AND we get to see her and nix bond and flirt a little at the party BEFORE something happens - that is if anything happens. The changes are subtle, but meaningful and imo do eva a lot of justice that wasn’t accounted for in the og.
#yeah as defensive as i am about og eva it is frustating when the whole first seaosn was about identity#and then kinda having her flattoned to the background to just become a contrasting character to noora was disappointing

I know I'm late but I can't express how much I loved the clip of nora coming back from her "date" and seeing everyone at the apartment drinking and singing.... the joy of that moment but also the bittersweet nature of knowing she was doing something that would hurt tina.... they were balanced so beautifully in that clip

S1E1 clip 1 vs S2E2 clip 2 parallels
jonas sits with his new girlfriend on the same bench as he was with eva, only this time eva watches it from the outside- from the other side of the fence.

again lovro "breaks up" jakovs kiss by hitting him with the skateboard. but this time eva is physically and metaphorically on the same side of the fence as him.
at the end of the clip, nora and eva are sitting together and then leave together. unlike how eva sits alone at the end of season ones first clip.
eva has moved on from jakov. she can observe herself with hindsight and she is no longer isolated in her relationship with him. she has a strong group of friends and especially in nora. she isn't the lonely girl from season 1 anymore. she can also understand lovro and what went down between the three of them better now than when they were close. she can see that they were actually parallels to each other the whole time. both interested in jakov when they weren't supposed to be. both "ashamed". both on the other side of the fence yet he is still going through the motions, and she's moved on.
