​RISE 1ST ANNIVERSARY: 03/13/18 - 03/13/19

As you surely remember, Rise premiered last year on March 13th on NBC, so the first anniversary has come and I thought, together with the Rise Discord people, that we could do something to celebrate it. It’s not really a trend on Twitter, because I know that time has passed and it’s difficult to gather the Rise fandom for such thing, so it’s a simple way to remember the show, letting Jason and the cast know.

WHAT: write and tweet/post what Rise meant and still means to you one year later. Since we want to tag the cast (see next point) and the tweet characters are limited, you can use Photoshop to create a text banner or simply post a screenshot of note written on your phone, so you have more space to write! Add pics from the show if you like! WRITE the #1YearOfRISE hashtag in the tweet together with #RISEAGAIN., so all the tweets are easier to find and retweet by other people. @ the cast and Jason Katims too! We’re doing it for them too. Be nice and positive and try to not insult the network. I know it’s hard, but it’s a celebration, so let’s keep it nice.

Siremy prompts #47 & #93

Jeremy’s giggling was tapping away at Simon’s patience. He watched his boyfriend, slumped on the couch across from him. His legs thrown up on the coffee table and his head thrown back from laughing so hard. Robbie was beside him, also giggling hysterically. Simon didn’t understand what was so funny until Jeremy lifted his head. He saw his slightly pink eyes that seemed to be drooping just a tiny bit in his head. He immediately got to his feet. Sitting down beside him, Simon took Jeremy’s face in his hands. “Are you high?”

“Like a kite”. Jeremy’s response made Robbie burst out in another fit of laughter, falling off the couch and onto to floor, which ultimately made Jeremy start giggling too, again.

Simon sighed, clearly frustrated. He was trying to think. How could he get these two home without his mom catching him. What would she think? She’d think he was smoking weed too. Then she’d tell his father and god knows what he would do if he found out he was anywhere near the stuff. A drug? It doesn’t matter how harmless it seemed. He would be grounded for life.

Trying to think of what he was going to do with two high boys was difficult when all he could hear was ridiculously loud laughter. “Can you two shut up for one second?”, he shouted.

“Heyyy.. shh”, Jeremy brought his finger up to Simon’s lips. “Try some?, you don’t have to. But if you want to, it’s fun”, he grinned, stupidly. “Uh no. Come on. We’re going back to your place”, he said, maybe a little too harshly. Simon knew that Jeremy’s family weren’t home, it seemed to be the only solution.

“You’re cute when you’re angry”, Jeremy said as he leaned forward, kissing Simon’s cheek. Simon smiled, excited to tease Jeremy in the morning, once he’s come down.

After about an hour of Simon convincing the boys to get into his car (and a quick stop at mcdonalds because oh my god they had the munchies and if he didn’t stop he was sure he was gonna crash the car, sick of listening to their constant whines), he finally arrived at Jeremy’s house.

Simon, still a little pissed that they put him in that situation, hauled them upstairs. Robbie lid down on the blow up mattress Simon had put down for him. He was talking but Simon wasn’t listening. He was more focused on getting Jeremy to sit still for a few moments. The boys just wouldn’t shut up, Simon wondered how much they smoked because ?? wouldn’t they be okay by now?

He sighed, hopping into bed beside Jeremy. Even though he was still mad, the feeling of Jeremy’s arms wrapping around him always seemed to make him forget why. He closed his eyes, hoping they would do the same, but, is life really that simple? Definitely not.

“If humans.. evolved from monkeys then.. why are there.. still monkeys?”, Simon looked down at Robbie, who looked genuinely shook at the thought. He couldn’t take it anymore, this was golden. He pulled out his phone and started recording. The two boys broke out in yet another fit of laughter discussing how maybe some monkeys just didn’t shave? But what if a monkey had a baby monkey but that baby monkey started evolving into a human but the momma monkey didn’t and eventually the baby monkey turned into a human and when he tells everyone his mamma is a monkey no one believes him?

“Would you believe him Si? I would”, Jeremy giggled. He looked so cute and carefree and seemed to be having the time of his life. Simon lay back on the pillow and thought.. maybe he would try it sometime too. Maybe. Just maybe. But, probably not.
