I like to imagine in a world of Daminette, when Talia finds out her boy is dating she might, possibly go on a "no one is worthy of my child" streak and then she meets the girl and its like:

And Regulus realizes then, the problem was never that he was a boy, it was that he was him

Or worse, Regulus isn't a "real" boy

He's not a girl, but he's not enough of a boy

He's not enough for James in any way at all

Remus who wants a cat so so so badly. He's always been very fond of cats and would take such good care of one and checks out books from the library about cats just in case he gets one, so he'll know what to do.

But cats don't like werewolves, and every cat Remus has tried to pet has hissed and scratched at him. So he resigns himself to never having his own cat, but he still loves them. He loves to watch them sit in windows and leaves out food for them that they never eat.

And then maybe one day on his birthday, Sirius—who has spent hours training a kitten so that they're used to Remus's scent—presents a little scruffy stray kitten that reminded him of Remus.

Remus cries and loves that cat with all his heart ❤️

“Hey, Potter.”

James was so distracted as he walked, muttering Quidditch plays and Potions ingredients under his breath, that he was completely caught off-guard by Regulus’s voice. He’d been stretched incredibly thin lately, what with the final Quidditch game of the season that weekend, along with several important exams coming in the next few weeks. He felt like he’d lose track of his head if it wasn’t attached to his body. Still, he was a bit embarrassed by the high-pitched yelp he let out as he jumped a foot in the air.

He calmed quickly though, at the sound of his boyfriend’s low, melodious laughter.

“Fuck, Reg. You nearly killed me,” he murmured, clutching at his chest and looking around for the source of the voice.

He nearly passed out again, however, when Regulus materialized out of thin air in front of him, smirking widely with his arms crossed. “Well, we can’t have that. Imagine how many girls around here would be inconsolable with grief,” he teased, rolling his eyes.

James gaped. “How…how did you get my Cloak?” he demanded, a mixture of shock and affection fluttering in his chest. He couldn’t decide if he was annoyed or proud of Regulus for pulling such a thing off so easily.

“Nicked it. You’re not very careful with your possessions you know, James,” Regulus drawled, stepping closer, his voice like honey, his eyes wide and innocent.

“I…”

“You should be more careful. You never know what else I might take. Or when,” the younger boy shrugged.

And with that, Regulus uncrossed his arms and moved the Cloak from his front, allowing James a better look at the jumper he was wearing–one of James’s old ones, the letter J knitted into the front by his mother.

Suddenly, all thoughts of Quidditch plays and Potions ingredients disappeared from James’s brain. All he could focus on was leaning forward to grab Regulus’s hand as he turned to leave, a devilish grin on his face.

not wanting to be outdone by the benders in the gang, sokka invents the flamethrower, the supersoaker, the leaf blower, and the concept of throwing rocks at people

Regulus who learned to be an animagus to sneak out of his room and onto his roof at night

Regulus who soon learned being an animagus comes in equally is handy to sneak around the castle at night

Regulus who crosses paths as an animagus with James when he was out for a prank, and he couldn’t stay away. its always easier to give into what he wants when he’s a cat

Regulus who finds out James is really good at petting

Regulus who acts like it didn’t happen at all

Regulus who keeps sneaking out to walk around and clear his mind and keeps every once in a while bumping into James, more and more until it’s every night he can’t escape James finding him to play

Regulus who starts actively looking for James because, well, James will find him anyway so let’s save themselves the time

Regulus who once a month can’t find James and james apparently can’t find him either, but he gets visits of a stag in the courtyard

Regulus who one night finds james drunk, after he snuck out of a gryffindor party, and keeps him company until he sobers up. James doesn’t, he talks and talks to the cat. At one point he tells him he reminds him of a boy he likes. they fall asleep together for the first time

Regulus who learned enough about animagi to become one and do silly things, not caring much about the details for the first time in his life. Regulus who therefore doesn’t know animagi can accidentally turn back human in their sleep, o even turn back into animals all without waking up

James who wakes up at 4am in some hallway, still tipsy and with a headache, and looks down to see regulus laying down on top of him fast asleep

James who says “i knew it” before falling back asleep and acting like nothing happened

Regulus who woke up an hour later, a cat again, in horror at how well he slept. He claw James’ hands to jolt him awake before leaving him there and going back to his room

James and Regulus who end up routinely sleeping on James’ bed, because James wants to and Regulus is convinced nobody will know anyway if he’s a cat

Regulus who turns switches between human and animal repeatedly in his sleep and James keeps acting like he doesn’t know but still charms his curtains every time so nobody will ever see

Regulus who wakes up from a bad nightmare in James’ bed and James hurries to comfort and reassure him

Regulus who is still in shock from the nightmare it takes him a second to realize he’s a human… around James

Regulus who takes evem longer to realize James isn’t reacting at all to the fact he is a human in his bed… he is Regulus of all people, in his bed

and then they kiss mwah mwah thank you
