Queen Maxima’s Pink Tiered Gown
It’s not often I will agree that adding lace to a gown improves it (there’s just SOOOO much lace these days!), but this is one such gown!

Royal Tiara Challenge 2024: Tiara you most want to see Princess Leonor wear
Ansorena Fleur de Lys tiara
This is definitely not my favourite tiara that belongs to the Spanish Royal Family however I’d love to see this tiara on Leonor, especially if Queen Letizia wears the larger Fleur de Lys tiara. This tiara was bought for Letizia while she was Princess of Asturias so it’d be lovely if the current Princess of Asturias also wore it. The only time that it has been worn was in 2015 for Queen Margrethe’s 75th birthday celebrations.
Honourable mention: Queen Ena’s Pearl and Diamond Tiara

Royal Tiara Challenge 2024: Least Favourite Tiara
Queen Wilhelmina’s Festoon Tiara
There are many tiaras that are owned by various Royal Families that I am not a fan of, the Swedish 6 button, the British Brazilian Aquamarine, Queen Maud’s aigrette from Norway which looks like antenna to name a few, but Wilhelmina’s Festoon Tiara from the Netherlands wins the title of my least favourite. This tiara looks as though someone tried to make a 5 year old’s drawing of a Princess come to life. It started as a necklace and looks a lot better in that form until 2005 when Queen Maxima wore it as a tiara for the state visit from Latvia. It was last worn in June 2006 by Princess Margriet so hopefully this tiara has been forgotten in the back of the vault!

Royal Tiara Challenge 2024: All Time Favourite Tiara
The Girls of Great Britain and Ireland
It’s apt that the tiara that started this challenge is the one to finish it. The Girls is THE tiara, it is iconic, it is beautiful and I love it!
Other tiaras within my top 10: Queen Victoria’s Emerald, Swedish Aquamarine Kokoshnik, Baden Fringe, the Fife, Dutch Diamond Bandeau, Queen Mary’s fringe, Dutch Sapphire Necklace Tiara, Sapphire Sunburst Tiara, Queen Mary of Denmark’s necklace tiara.

Royal Tiara Challenge 2024: Favourite tiara moment of 2023
South Korean State Visit to the UK
There were some fantastic tiara moments in 2023: the Wedding of Crown Prince Hussein and Princess Rajwa, the birthday celebrations of Prince Christian, but for me, the South Korean State Visit to the UK won! Queen Camilla wore the Burmese Ruby for the first time, which was the tiara that I was looking forward for her to wear the most. The Duchess of Gloucester wore the Gloucester Emerald Bandeau for the first time in years. The highlight of the evening, of course, was the Princess of Wales in the Strathmore Rose! It looked so good on her!!! The tiara was last worn by Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother in 1935.
