♥ Warmblood Association Easter Invitational Grading Show ♥

Our beautiful mare, Corona Attack WL, got the chance to show of at the WBA Grading show on Cavaletti Sims.Cora loved the attention she got from every angles, and Elena was very pleased with how the mare showed her self in front of the judges.Next up for Elena to show is our golden mare, Legally Blonde WL, and of course our newest darling, Total US WL.

♥ A small update on life ... ♥

It has been a while since my last post. Life has been crazy for me the last month or so, and I have had no motivation at all to go in game, take pictures or edit.. Things has been very quiet at Winther Lake, but all horses and humans are doing well. I have managed to edit a few pics, which hopefully will get my motivation going again soon ♥♥

♥ April 6th ♥

Yesterday was a very special day at Winther Lake Equestrian, since it was Elena’s birthday. At Winther Lake we loooove celebrating birthdays, and yesterday was a good day to celebrate. Hayden had left on sunday to .. Well, he hadn’t really told anyone, what he was going to do, or where he was going, but he returned yesterday with a very special gift - a birthday gift for Elena.

Elena couldn’t believe her own eyes, when Hayden opened up the trailer. Inside stood the most shiny, black stallion, she had ever seen. It took her a while before she realized, that she had seen the horse before: at a stallion show not long ago, where the stallion,Total US WL, had been premiered with Supreme Premium Champion at the show, and Elena had been in love from the first look she had taken of the stallion. It hadn’t been for sale or anything, so she couldn’t believe how in the world Hayden had been able to get the stallion to their stable. And he wasn’t going to tell. Elena took a step inside the trailer to let the stallion see her, and got Hayden to open, so she could led the big boy outside. He was such a gentleman, staying right beside her the whole time... ..o0o.. Elena went to bed after a long day filled with so much happyness, that she couldn’t keep her eyes open for much longer. She was very excited to see how the future would go with ‘Usher’.. ♥

♥ Ladies ♥

We are currently under some massive building-changes with new facilities being build. Our new arenas has been ride-able for a few days, and the girls has already had a few of the mares out to try the out! Top: Elena & Corona Attack WL in the dressage arena. Bottom: Emily & Geraldine WL in the big show jumping arena.Elena, Hayden and Melanie got just a few minutes to take a look at the new seating-area in the middle of the arena. We will for sure be have some great times here!

♦ A day with Emily ♦

Our show jumping rider Emily has lots going on these days. She is taking care of the training for all our show jumpers, expect Tokyo, who are getting some time of after given birth to our lovely Paddy. Besides training the jumping-horses, Emily also takes care of our sales horses at the moment. Right now, we have two lovely horses for sale; Left: Snickerdoodle WL 5 years old Swedish Warmblood mare - show jumping Snickerdoodle WL - or as we call her; Snickers - is a gentle mare with a very sweet temper. She loves to cuddle in the barn, and enjoys being around and close to other horses in the paddocks. She is well-ridden, has some good gaits and lots of power. She works really well under saddle, and listens closely to what is asked of her. She is a good jumper, who gives her very best in every arena and every course you are putting in front of her. (We are going to breed her once before she will go to her new owner.) Right: Nordic’s Boomblast 4 years old Danish Warmblood stallion, dressage A big fellah, with his heart in the right place. He is a big goof-ball who loves to run around with his pals in the paddock all day long. He is very friendly to other horses and humans, and loves a good scratch. He is broken in, has been in training for about a month now, and are showing good potential for dressage.   (Selling this one with permission from the breeder @ninawolfbear, who would like to accept the new owner, so we both know where he is going to end up <3)

♦ Spring time = Foal time ♥

It has been some quite exciting days around Winther Lake lately. Some of our mares have been giving birth to some absolutely cute foals, and we nearly can’t take anymore cuteness around here - all though... More foals are about to be born soon! Top: Paddington WL Danish Warmblood colt by the impressive show jumping stallion IEQ Pajazzo, owned by Illusion Equestrian / Emily Kane, out of our own show jumping mare, Tokyo WL. Paddy - as the girls already is calling him - has taken a lot of personality from his father. He can be a little pushy to the other foals, but we think he is just trying to get all the attention from the humans that he can possible get. He will for sure stay at Winther Lake, and hopefully do his amazing sire justice and show a lot of potential in the future! Middle: Zakurai Gold WL & Zakura Gold WL Elena was not able to believe her own eyes, when she one morning went over to say good morning to her lovely mare, Treasure Gold WL. Two beautiful small Danish Warmblood foals was laying in the hay, sound asleep, and not caring at all, that she was looking at them. Both foals - twins to be exact - was doing very well, and after a check-up by the vet, the only notice there was to give, was that Zakura, the filly, was a little smaller than Zakurai, the colt. The twins has taking a lo after their dad, and there is no doubt who the sire is: Zodiac WL. Bottom: Vegas Rush WLOur beautiful mare, Vegas Gold WL, is at the age of 6 already retired from shows and competition due to a leg injury when she was only 3,5 years old. Since the recovery has been going very well, but with no sight of riding in the nearest future, Elena accepted to do a breeding with Vegas. As a trade for our beautiful new mare, VRH Diamita, Elena let Emily Kane decide, who she wanted to be bred to Vegas. Emily picked our lovely black stallion, Ramiro KH, and the outcome is nothing else than outstanding! A beautiful little Danish Warmblood filly, who already has shown us loots of personality!Vegas Rush is going to live with Emily at Illusion Equestrian ♥

It is not always easy to manage a stable with a lot of horses in training. Some days are like these; the first horse under saddle at 6:30 AM. Elena enjoys these mornings. There is a very special feeling over Winther Lake when riding in the early morning hours. And today she enjoyed a good training with D’Artagnan WL, a 4 years old Danish Warmblood stallion. David - as we call him in the barn - is a well-behaved young guy, who really enjoys working under saddle. He is a fast learner, and you don’t have to show him things twice before he gets it. Oh... did you see the colors of the tack? Elena was trying out a new outfit she and Emily got yesterday. What do you think? :)

Our three 1,5 years old boys (soon turning 2 years) are taking a time off during their playing around. Woody [bay colt with blaze] and Disney [black colt] has been taking such good care of Zentropa [flaxen chestnut colt] after he was introduced yesterday. The three boys are having so much fun!

It is not always easy to be the new kid in the class, but for Diamita there were no problems making friends with the other ladies in the pasture next to “hers”. Tilly, our ‘babysitter’ for our young girls [Holly and Callie] was the first to say ‘Hello’ to the new chestnut, and after just a few minutes sniffing each other over the fence, they were grassing next to each other - only thing separating them was the fence for the rest of the day. @madi-simss
