End to End Process Mapping
If you want your business to function more efficiently, it is essential that all of its processes are well-defined. Doing so can help to eliminate redundancies, prevent errors, and improve quality. One of the best ways to do so is through end to end process mapping, a visual technique for documenting and improving the flow of work from start to finish.
Tumblr media
To create an end to end process map, your team needs to first determine where the process starts and ends. They should also identify what inputs are needed and the outputs generated by each step. Once the team has a clear idea of what is involved in completing a given process, they can begin to map it using standard process mapping symbols.
There are about 30 different process mapping symbols that can be used to represent key elements on a process map. These include: terminators (ovals), process steps (rectangles), decision points (a diamond with arrows pointing either "yes" or "no"), and delays (a parallelogram). Other common symbols include: a document that is an input or an output of a process step, a symbol resembling multiple stacked wavy rectangles for indicating that data must be manually entered into a process, and a predefined subprocess indicated by a double vertical line.

Once the process map has been completed, it is important that all of its information be reviewed and analyzed to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement. The end result is a more efficient and effective workflow, which leads to increased productivity for your business.

How to Create a Document Control System
Document control systems ensure that staff work with the most current set of documents. This can help protect businesses from costly errors and loss of reputation. They also enable strict access control, archiving of obsolete documents and version approval. This is especially important when regulatory compliance like ISO 13485, GxP or FDA require absolute accountability and traceability of all documentation processes.
Tumblr media
To create a document control system, start by taking stock of the current documentation challenges your business faces. Then, design a set of standards to govern categorization, labeling, processing, review, storage, retrieval, security and transmission. Once these are firmly established, make sure that everyone in the business is aware of them.
You can automate most of these processes by integrating your document control system with key applications like CRM, ERP & Tally. This enables speedier document transfers and saves on manual effort. For example, if you have to manually import a large number of documents from folders on your drives, it will take up a significant amount of time and energy for each individual employee. Instead, a document control solution can monitor those folders and automatically transfer all incoming files to the system.

You can streamline the process of creating submittals from a specification book by using a document control solution that combines automation with ease-of-use. This will save time for your employees and ensure that all the information is correct. This way, your project team can turn a complex specification into submittals within minutes and not hours.

Standardized Process Meaning
Standardized process meaning is a set of rules that dictates how a company will handle certain processes. These rules are documented and remain the same throughout the organization, regardless of department or team. Standardized procedures are used in many businesses, including telemarketing companies that have scripts for their sales associates to follow and manufacturing firms that adhere to agency standards for consistency across production.
Tumblr media
Typically, these processes are established through legislative oversight or ethical/best practices and policies arrived at through evidence-based practices. They also may be the result of kaizen, which is the philosophy that states large problems can be solved through hundreds of small changes.
Once standardized processes are in place, they help to streamline workflows and improve productivity. This is especially helpful for supervisors who have multiple responsibilities, allowing them to focus on high-priority tasks. Standardized work also helps to eliminate confusion in the workplace and ensures that all employees are following company guidelines.
In addition to improving productivity, standardized work provides an effective framework for continuous improvement. This is because the kaizen principles of reducing waste and eliminating defects are integrated into every step of a standardized work process.
youtube
In manufacturing, standardized work is defined as precise procedures that allow operators to make products the fastest, safest and easiest way possible using current technologies and a limited amount of materials. This is done by defining the Takt time (rate at which products must be made), work sequence, quality requirements, required inventory and more.

SAP EWM - An End-To-End Process Management Tool For Warehouse Operations
SAP EWM is an end-to-end process management tool for warehouse operations. It enables businesses to manage a wide range of warehouse processes, such as picking and packing, inventory storage, shipment preparation, and warehouse logistics. It integrates tightly with SAP ERP applications like SAP MM, SD, PP, QM, and TM and also non-ERP products like SAP CRM and GTS.
Tumblr media
It helps improve the visibility and transparency of warehouse operations by providing a single source of truth for inventory. Real-time data enables users to monitor warehouse activities and identify issues quickly, reducing the time it takes to respond to them. It also improves warehouse efficiency by supporting mobile data entry. This includes radio frequency functions and handling unit management, allowing your employees to complete tasks on the move.
In SAP EWM, you can use the warehouse cockpit to see key figures graphically on a screen. This makes it easier to assess the status of warehouse activity and plan labor times and resources more effectively. In addition, it offers improved control over material flow and the ability to handle a wide variety of warehouse operations in one system.
youtube
The SAP EWM workflow begins with a sales order, and it checks to see whether the warehouse has sufficient stock to fill the order. If it does, it creates an outbound delivery request. The warehouse team then picks and packs the order for shipment and hands it off to transportation and logistics. If the warehouse finds a discrepancy between the actual quantity picked and the amount on the outbound delivery, it can initiate a pick denial process.

How to Create a Document Control System in Excel
Document control is more than just a compliance or auditing consideration. It's the key to maintaining overall efficiency and product quality. Without it, companies can easily fall behind the competition due to costly errors, lost business and even a negative reputation.
Tumblr media
The best way to create a document control system is with an electronic quality management software solution that combines a comprehensive suite of digital tools. The system you choose should be fast, easy to use and fully integrated with all other aspects of your organization. This way you can eliminate rework and delays caused by siloed systems that do not talk to each other.
It is important that all staff have access to the same system of records, as this will make it easier for them to understand and follow the same procedures. SimplerQMS software allows you to set hierarchies of access so that only the right people can see the files they need. This also ensures that the latest revision of a file is always available.
You can also use an add-in that allows you to check documents in and out from the system, so that changes are instantly reflected across all platforms and shared with everyone. This is especially useful for teams working on the same project and will reduce time spent tracking down revisions.
youtube
Lastly, a good quality management system will help you avoid the risk of losing important information due to natural disaster or cyberattack. You should look for a solution that offers cloud-based storage so that you can continue operations regardless of whether your office is destroyed or under attack.
