Ushimitsu Gao... It is... A thing!
Paru has a talent to make us as weirded out as possible yet keeping our interest despite us feeling dirty as a result.
This manga... I read the first seven chapters. And it is probably Paru's most messed up work yet. And keep in mind that she wrote about a school student snake who ate his bully.
At this point, I don't see the point of adding a warning as it is Paru we talk about.
But this blog contains talk of sex, cheating and ghost fetish.

Megumi is a woman in her thirties who is a full-time housewife as well as living in a very unfulfilling marriage. It's not just that her husband is not very attentive, he is barely touching her.
Megumi also have another problem: She can see ghosts.
It's usually not a problem as the ghosts she sees mind their own business so she minds hers. But as she is in bed with her husband to try get pregnant and no other reason... a ghost in in their bedroom, watching them have unfulfilling and stiff sex.
Megumi is obviously disturbed by this. She at first is angry at this spirit she calls Gou for butting in, observing her.
But then, the mute ghost starts doing more than that. He touches her, paralyzing her body... and Megumi is very much into it.
Yes, Megumi has a bondage fetish. Her encounter with Gou made her realize that she for as long as she can remember liked it when she was strapped up in a rollercoaster.
So as the days turn to weeks, Megumi and the VEEEEERY friendly ghost Gou experiment as they have sex right next to her husband who is soundly asleep and unaware of what is going on.
I won't go into details about what is happening of weird shit in the first seven chapters, partly to not make you lose your interest in this blog... though I find it likely most who started reading this blog have left at this point, asking themselves why they read this in public transportation and want to get home and wash the shame away.
What is interesting about this story is the duality.
Megumi is clearly a victim. She has married a man out of convenience and because it felt weird to "date" as if she was a teen or a young woman, not an adult. And her husband, when he is not busy not being attentive, is mansplaining her hard(!).
But at the same time... what she does is wrong. She is aware what she is doing is wrong! Not just the cheating part, she is having sex with a god damn ghost for crying out loud!
My favorite page of the series so far is after Gou has possessed Megumi's husband for the first time to have sex with her through his body and they even have their first conversation instead of him making hand signals as a mute spirit. It all seems so tender, how happy she is that he cares for her, how Megumi feels fulfilment in so many ways...
And then...

Sheeeeeeesh.
Paru's story have three important parts: the beginning, the middle and, most importantly, the plot twist.
Megumi went from the deer-eyed poor housewife on one page to the crazy ghost-fucker who now uses her unaware hubby as a host body for her side-guy on the last page.
I honestly thought this would have been the perfect way to end the series. Building up sympathy for Megumi and then... THAT!
"Ushimitsu Gao" is a very... Alternative read that doesn't glorify cheating yet still makes us feel bad for the main character when we are not crossed out because of her weird gjost-fucking.
BTW, I want to make it clear I don't condone what she is doing at all, even if I don't like her husband. But I am intrigued and want to see where Paru is going with this.
ESPECIALLY since Megumi is experiencing side effects.
I'm Waezi2 and thanks for wasting time with me.
