DID YOU KNOW that proper pearl necklaces actually have knots between each pearl?

This is done to stop the pearls from rubbing up against each other, potentially causing damage and discolouration to each bead, and also so that if the string breaks it’s unlikely that any more than one or two pearls will fall off the string. Pearl necklaces (and bracelets, for that matter) need re-stringing regularly, to make sure that the string isn’t stretched, frayed, or otherwise damaged, which would put the necklace at risk of breaking, and when they are re-stringed properly, new knots are always tied between each pearl.

Hm, I haven't read that many ML fics as of late, but I would like to get back into it. I have a short rec list on my about page (which is titled faq through the tumblr desktop view). Maryssa (@carpisuns) has many wonderful recommendations here.

Here's a list of some of my favorites anyhow;

1. Serendipitous Fate

Adrien is excited to reveal his true identity, while Marinette is terrified. But Master Fu says they can't afford to be distant any longer. Chat Noir and Ladybug are meant to work in tandem both in and out of uniform, their strength stemming from the bond created between them. Yet, teenagers are sometimes better at dancing blind than running with wide-open eyes, even with the steps laid out before them.

Comments: God-tier. Fandom classic. If I had to pick a favorite, it's this one. Plot and lore-heavy. Though it remains incomplete, it's still absolutely worth reading! [chef's kiss]

2. Truth and Consequences

On Sunday, Marinette discovered who her arch-nemesis really was. On Monday, she made Adrien’s father a deal.

Comments: I picked it up a few months ago and binged it within a day or two. It's fantastic—especially if you like lore and world-building. Mending Warped Designs is the companion fic/part two, it's currently ongoing.

3. The Ladybugs and Bees

AKA the early-fandom Ladynoir puberty fic that spiraled waaaaay out of proportion.

Comments: The most read fic in the fandom I believe, another classic. More ship-oriented, less plot-heavy. If you like ladynoir/ladrien and spice, this one's for you.

4. How to Fake a Marriage

Adrien Agreste is excited to go to London to get a degree in Physics- but he's less excited about the ridiculous list of rules his father keeps giving him, especially since it's clear that his father doesn't trust his judgment at all.

So what better way to rebel than to fake a wedding with one of his friends as soon as he gets to London?

Comments: It's so adorable gahh ♥♥♥

5. Lucky Us (AU)

Marinette Dupain-Cheng's life isn't going as planned: twenty-six, recently dumped, and running her parents' bakery. The highlights of her day are the emails sent by her mysterious pen pal, Chat Noir. That is, until handsome model Adrien Agreste starts swinging by the bakery after hours. But how is he to know the Ladybug he loves is standing right in front of him?

Comments: I don't usually read AUs, but this one is amazing. Gahhh also cute with a lot of feels ♥♥♥
