🌸Amepan headcanons!🍔

Yes, some of these may/will be out of character. No, I do not care :)

→ Alfred is like, the king of abandonment issues. As a result, he has pretty severe separation anxiety with Kiku. They work hard together on ensuring it's manageable for both parties, but Alfred still struggles with that fear of Kiku leaving and Kiku still struggles with handling all of Alfred's clinginess.

→ Alfred is usually the one to initiate any sort of affection between the two of them. But Kiku has been working hard on initiating it more himself. He loves Alfred, and doesn't want to make it seem as though he doesn't want to. He's just not as used to this as Alfred is.

→ Despite Kiku's issues with physical touch, he actually loves to cuddle. There are times where they'll be watching a movie or even just sitting together doing various activities and Kiku will end up subtly leaning into Alfred. Alfred knows Kiku well enough at this point to pick up on it and always ends up pulling him against his side or into his lap.

→ Alfred doesn't know how to handle Kiku being mad or upset with him in any way, especially when he's unsure of what he's done wrong. So instead of asking about it like a logical person, he tries making grand, and often idiotic, gestures to try and win Kiku back. After a few days of this, Kiku eventually gets sick of his nonsense and forces the two of them to sit down and actually have a conversation.

→ During an argument, Alfred is always the first to cry. Kiku tends to turn cold during fights or high tension scenarios, so he doesn't have much of an emotional response himself. But as soon as he sees Alfred's eyes get shiny, he knows things have gone too far and immediately takes Alfred into his arms to deescalate the situation.

→ Kiku is by far the better communicator of the two. He is very firm about his boundaries with Alfred, and while Alfred always tries his hardest to respect them, he finds it difficult to establish any of his own. Kiku has to remind him that it's okay for him to have discomforts and needs, and that he's allowed to set boundaries for himself as well.

→ Kiku cooks, Alfred cleans.

→ Additionally, Alfred likes to have music playing as he's cleaning up the kitchen or doing dishes, and he'll randomly pull Kiku into a spontaneous slow dance in an attempt to be romantic. And while Kiku finds it silly, he also finds it charming.

→ Despite the differences in their personalities, with Alfred being more childish and hyper while Kiku is more mature and reserved, they balance each other out perfectly. Alfred is able to get Kiku out of his comfort zone every once in a while, such as accompanying him to different hangouts to help get him a bit more socialized. And Kiku is able to keep Alfred in line during meetings, or calm him down when he's getting to be a bit too hyper. They accept each other's flaws, and love each other immensely despite them, but they also make each other better at the end of the day.

→ They both have a mutual admiration for the other's culture, and actively participate in each other's celebrations and traditions when appropriate.
