Aster finally married her best friend Shane. Look at us and Charlie on our little farm. I also built a room for Jas, even though I know the gameplay doesn't allow for her to live with us, I like that she has a room. OKAY BUT MARNIE IN THE LAST PIC. LIKE GIRL.

Alcoholism is a chemical dependence. Some people can still drink after they get help.

Controversial take: Shane is not an alcoholic and doesn't say he'll 100% stop drinking.

I was reading about alcoholism vs alcohol abuse and I think he has the latter. He can function without withdrawals and getting sick. He used beer to self-medicate for his anxiety and depression. His life doesn't depend on beer for him to function.

Also, Shane going to therapy isn't him saying he's going to quit drinking. He's saying he's going to get help and learn it's ok to depend on others. Dude clearly has trust issues on top of his depression. He's learning to not use beer to cope which is the main issue.

I'm so over the narrative that this community gave thinking his storyline is one thing when it's not. He cuts back the beer once you're married which is better than him going to the saloon every night. He puts his energy into raising blue chickens and tries to be a better role model for Jas.

As long as he's not drinking to get drunk people shouldn't be so hard on the character.
