see I keep going back to this shot for reasons and I’ve to a theory is like to share for all of us in delulu land
the few instances of ouizzy peppered in the second season make me believe they were canon. at least there was a possibility in the writer’s room and they either a) scrapped it from the start to focus on the 3 main ships (edstede, lupete, and the polycule) or 2) filmed more ouizzy-centric scenes that didn’t make it into the final cut because of reason #1
because the hand holding never really makes it in the final cut and I think it was a conscious choice when they scrapped that storyline

[OUIZZY + comfort] During the Kraken reign, Izzy's not having the best of times. Frenchie takes notice. Bonus for including unrequited Edizzy

I love Our Flag Means Death because you can clearly feel the chemistry of two close friends who just love working together, and are so comfortable with themselves, they can act intimately as a gay couple without being insecure about it. Same with Good Omens except one of them won’t shut the fuck up about wanting to powerfuck the other on Twitter

"Do you see me now, Stede? You were always going to realize what I am."
This is one of the saddest moments because Stede hears that Ed is leaving him for someone else, someone more masculine, a proper pirate, someone who has just called him a "fop."
Meanwhile Ed is saying, "You were always going to realize what I am." That it's not Stede at all, and it's not even Jack; it's Ed's bone-deep belief that he is not good enough. That he only deserves someone like Jack, and that he can never be anything other than what Jack makes him out to be.
It circles back to the conversation they have at the beginning of the episode, where Jack keeps bringing up Hornigold and burning ships and all the things Ed has done. Ed's ashamed of it being said in front of Stede. He's afraid of what Stede thinks of him. He's afraid of what it means about him and his capacity for violence, and that it will only ever end with Stede realizing that Ed is a monster.
For so much of Season 1 and even into Season 2, they both believe they don't deserve the other's love.

Since OFMD let us down, sometimes I imagine this is Izzy instead of Cliff.
Just think how much conflict could have been avoided if Izzy had just been getting laid on the reg during season 1. 😔

glad that chelsea winstanley is speaking about how miserable she was in her marriage to taika waititi. she deserves to be recognised for her work in her own right and has gone through horrific things in her life and still came out the other side.

Fans of Shameless may have to deal with the fact that their show went on for way too long and definitely went down hill, but they will always be able to brag that their most popular gay ship is not only canon, not only kissed, but got married in an episode titled after their fandom ship name.
