this isn't meant to be mean or confrontational but that wasn't really the point I was making at all - even in media ABOUT women, media with well written girl characters, and media with women protagonists, they're still treated that way at large by the fanbase. every well written female villain is either labelled as "girlboss!" or "irredeemable bitch" . this isn't just a phenomenon that exists in the fan spaces from male protag shonen animes but in literally every single fan space you will ever go into. and even then, the excuse that they weren't written well enough to pay attention to falls through considering that men can be written absolutely fucking awful and be legitimately irredeemable or do very very VERY little at all in their media, and still be fawned over and have every microscopic aspect of their character analysed. I doubt this was a bad faith addition but I still want to make my intentions clear so that my point is not misconstrued
