xue li is meant to appear fragile and soft, it's what she aims for with her clothing, make up, and general appearance. she loves to be underestimated solely based on this. everything about her is one big web of lies in most cases. honestly, she is powerful. magically gifted and with strength. she is in her element best when backed into corners. xue li can be feral. vicious. and takes delight in breaking spirits.

xue li knows he deals with a lot of stressful things. he does not have the most laxed master. she knows there is a lot to bear and how he must feel weighed down by it all even as a powerful sith lord. power comes with a lot of responsibility. heavy is the head that wears the crown. whatever is bothering him now seems to be preoccupying him more than she liked. he was distant, lost in his thoughts. xue li cannot help but to worry.

there is a sympathetic smile being offered, everything zapped into perspective now. she lifted hand to run fingers carefully through auburn hair, giving a small tug on strands before hands slid down to cup cal's face, pad of thumbs brushing over cheekbones with such delicate tenderness. " politics have a way of being in everything. " xue li nodded in agreement, offering a small smile.

" but these more mental and wit battles you do not need to shoulder alone. i would like to think i'm rather good when it comes to such things. perhaps, i can help. " xue li offered.

" Rrrrrrrrgh, " the Grand Inquisitor groaned. One arm on one armrest, the other bent on the opposite, and rubbed his mouth. Then his eyes. Pinched the bridge of his nose.

Though the feeling of her fingers in his hair made his movements cease. He took in a deep breath through his nose and forcefully exhaled the same way. " It's stupid, " he grumbled, his fingers covered his eyes. " Dealing with politics was never something I envisioned when I took this role. Though, I should have seen it coming, being Vader's apprentice. "

He then moved his face away from his palm and gave her a weak smile.

" ...I'm just glad you're here, " he said, softly, more quietly.
