Lucy had settled into her seat on the ground. While she was anxious for Adam to see the surprise, she let her mind focus on the thousands of people filing into the stadium for the show. Sure, if she had gotten tickets, she would have, but being surrounded and cramped in a small seat wouldn't have been as romantic. She had just wanted a night where they could be together and not have to worry about beer being spilled on them or people standing up the whole time. She just wanted time with him...with Adam.
Hearing a familiar voice, Lucy's attention turned and a smile spread across her lips, "It came to me when we were down here the last time, walking across the bridge. Thought it was a romantic spot and something we could both enjoy together, when the right band came of course." She laughed, "Plus, I didn't want beer spilled on me again like the last time, because that's definitely not romantic."
Lucy took in all of the kiss. This moment was already perfect and worth it, "You're right on time. See the hordes of zombies still filing into the stadium?" She grinned. "And look! No costly stadium food. Just a romantic picnic for you and me." She patted the ground next to her.
Shit. He was going to be late if he didn't get going. Adam quickly saved his progress on his work computer before logging out and turning the desk lamp on his desk off. He made sure to grab what he needed to take home and opened the side drawer in his desk to pull out a small ring box. For a moment, he just held it in his hand and stared, a small smile pulling at his lips when he thought about what might happen tonight if the setting was right. That's what he's been waiting on, the right moment to ask Lucy to be with him for the rest of their lives. He took one last moment to think about it before he slipped the box in his pocket and left his office for the night.
His face screwed up when he looked at his life360 though. Why was Lucy at the stadium? They didn't have tickets to tonight's show so her waiting for him down at the stadium didn't make much sense but he made his way there anyway. Spotting the girl, a wide grin broke out, Adam taking in the picnic she had set up for them and almost kicking himself for not thinking of doing this himself.
"How in the world did you come up with this?" Sitting down next to her, he leaned in and pressed a kiss to her lips, savoring the moment while he could. Finally, he pulled away, still smiling as he looked into her eyes. "Hi...I'm not late, am I? I was pretty much running to get here. I almost had to take one of those bike carriage things that I'm scared will kill me one day."

He had hated just dropping in. His grandmother had taught him better than that, but if he had told Mia they needed to have a talk, he was sure she was going to be in a mood worrying about what he had to say. In fact, he had almost backed out of it. He didn’t want to hurt her. It was the last thing he had wanted to do, but it wasn’t fair to him. His love for her was unlike any other love he had experienced. And he wasn’t sure if it was because she wouldn’t just outright admit she felt the same way or what, but in the moment she opened the door and spoke; eyes bright, his heart started pounding harder than before, “Guess I’m just a ninja.”
The ninja line sent him back to their first date as he stepped inside and shut the door behind him. The Color Run. He had had so much fun that day with her. And their date afterwards getting pizza and winning little rubber ducks from claw machines. And every other plan they had ever made. She made him feel like a kid again. Giddy with excitement when they went and did things together, and the day he almost lost her, was the day he knew he truly wanted to be with her, “Uh, tea’s fine. You know me, not big on day drinking, especially since you’re looking at one of Nashville’s newest firefighters.” He smiled, a little unease in his expression.
Walking to her couch, he paced back and forth mumbling to himself, before deciding to sit down. He didn’t want to hurt her. He loved her too much for that, but he also didn’t want to feel regret or frustration every time he looked at her. Noah wanted to be able to see Mia for the woman she was and loved. Fun. Sweet, when she wasn’t a spitfire trying to talk him into something. Compassionate. Smart. And the list could go on. It’s why the words almost choked him coming out of his mouth, as he hoped she hadn’t heard him, “Hey...I...we need to talk...” Had she caught onto to what he said while she was in the kitchen? I mean, it wasn’t like he was speaking through a wall or a door.
Life was good for Mia Riley. She had recovered fully from the incident on Halloween, left with multiple scars and a leg that killed her when the weather was right, but she had recovered. After a year off from school and physical therapy as much as she could handle she was walking normally again. And now that she was back on track with school and her career goals were once again in sight, not to mention having a man willing to go to the ends of the earth for her at her side, she couldn’t see anything going wrong for her. Life was indeed good.
A knock at her door had her shooing away the woman she was facetiming with. She hadn’t been expecting company and was distracting herself with the latest conquest but all plans had changed with the short wrap to her front door. The doorman must have let someone in, someone familiar if he hadn’t informed her they were coming, which meant it could be one of two people. Suspicions were confirmed when she opened the door to find Noah standing there, a bright smile lighting up her features as soon as she laid eyes on him. “Hey, I didn’t know you were coming by. How did you give Leonard the slip?”
She stepped aside after her teasing, letting him know to come in as she walked to the kitchen and left the door open. “You want something to drink? I was just about to make tea. Or we could break into my stash of tequila?” She flashed Noah a teasing smile, knowing he wasn’t one to drink too often but hoping that maybe he’d give in for the night. She wanted some fun and hers had been interrupted, it was only fair that he make up for it, right? “What’s up? Normally I get a phone call before I’m blessed with your pretty face.”

Noah/Mia | Mia's Apartment
It had been one of the hardest years of his life training to become a firefighter. Not as hard as the day he lost his parents, but a personal battle he, at one point, believed he wouldn’t succeed in. But he had Mia to thank for that. It was memories of Halloween night that had kept him pushing forward, knowing that if something like this ever happened again, he wanted to be prepared. But also the desire to save lives was the thing that had sealed the deal. A little over 14 months of true handwork and dedication, and here he was ready to start the first day of the rest of his life. There had just been one thing he was still dealing with. Something that had been weighing on him heavily for quite sometime, and now, it was time to face the facts.
Inhaling deeply, Noah wrapped a fist on the locked door in front of him; Mia’s door. It was time she own up to the truth of whether or not she really wanted to be with him. He had played cat and mouse with her since day one, and his heart was starting to falter. The woman he had fallen madly in love with seemed to only want to do things on her terms, and he had allowed her that space. Firefighter Academy had deeply played a hand in that with his time being occupied, but now that he was out and had more time to focus on the rest of his life, his new career, and the woman of his dreams.
He had practiced the conversation in his head over and over again. Hell, Noah had even consulted with a few of his close friends from the academy, his grandparents, and his little brother. Some had suggested a proposal, while others had said move on. And as much as he had even contemplated getting down on one knee at some point, he just couldn’t bring himself to do it. Not until he knew Mia was truly his and loved him just as much as he did her.

Lucy/Adam | The Pedestrian Bridge/Nissan Stadium (at dusk)
It had been forever since Lucy and Adam had just had a date night together. It had seemed like adulthood had swooped in over night and taken away their childhood and all the fun that came with it. Bills had to be paid. Hours had to be worked. And the older they got, the more of a lull Lucy found herself falling into. Not to blame Adam at all. It was just what happened when couples fell out of their honeymoon phase.
But tonight was going to be different. She had found a nice grassy area, thrown out a blanket, and had a picnic dinner waiting in a basket with a bottle of wine. The Coheed and Cambria show at Nissan Stadium was about to start soon, and she had made Adam promise her that he would find her using Life360 and arrive at her destination at the time she had stated. It was a romantic evening she had planned for months and so help her if he had missed it, because of work, she was going to make the next week or so of his life a living hell. But all in the name of love, of course.

Charlie & Walker | Big Joe's Gas Station & Repair Shop
"Hey, Dad, do we have anymore Gojo?" Her voice carried over the sound of an impact wrench removing lug nuts from the wheels of one of their most recent intakes at the body shop connected onto her Grandpa Joe's gas station. Charlie had just finished changing the oil in a newer Honda Civic and was about to take lunch, but first she needed the Gojo, "Dad?!"
When she didn't get a response, the young woman, oil and grease soaked hands, made her way towards the gas station, laying eyes on a familiar old car, "No way." It had been at least a month since she had seen him, but her mind quickly forgot the soap as she now went on the hunt for her brother, Walker.
Finally laying eyes on the man through the door leading into the gas station, Charlie made her way inside, "Aren't you supposed to be in one of those big cities, being driven around in a bougie limo signing autographs and stuff?" A crooked smile easily slipped across her lips as she waited for him to notice her.

Estie & Hunter | Nashville Farmer's Market
It had been several months since Estie had settled down in Tennessee. The small town she had chosen seemed like the perfect place to escape the spotlight of a very public outing of her private life back in California. But there had been one person from her past life that had found out she was in Tennessee and that was Hunter. He had easily been both her best friend and a source of part of the pain she had gone through with her, now, deceased ex-husband, but clearly she didn't blame her friend. She just swore up and down to herself that she would never openly admit to him what life had really been like with Matthew.
Grabbing the keys from the cup holder and her purse, Estie easily slipped out of her black Jeep Wrangler. It was her first time going to the Nashville Farmer's Market, but word on the street had been nothing but good reviews on the variety of food options, and the idea of taking home some fresh produce didn't seem to bother her either. But first, she had to find...
"Hunter?" Walking towards the man, Estie let a warm, inviting smile slip over her face. She hadn't seen him in quite a while, but having a little taste of California back in her life was nice, even if it did remind her of all the other parts of a not so fairytale life she just wanted to be rid of completely.
