"Bored to Tears is easily one of the most important bands in the Starkville area right now. This band is the embodiment of the DIY ethic. They wanted to make music that they enjoyed, so they did. And they did it as quickly as possible without sacrificing any artistic integrity or quality. After only being a band for two weeks, they competed in the Battle of the Bands competition held by Music Makers on campus, and two weeks after that they were the first band to play a fully DIY concert in Starkville alongside Bad Data and Hartle Road. Since then, these guys have only gotten better and have even branched out into new projects all without sacrificing any quality or momentum, and it's clear that people are taking notice because their EP release show was one of the largest shows that Starkville has ever seen. I'm incredibly excited to see what they'll accomplish in the future, and I encourage you to listen to the EP and go to a show so you can see what I'm talking about. "

"There are very few ways I can go about describing Cicadas other than absolute insanity. These guys bring such a technical level to math rock that it should honestly be a whole new genre. Cicadas may not be the most active band in the area, but that just makes seeing them live even more of a treat. If you care at all about musical mastery, then these guys are going to be your new favorite band. "

"It's no secret that our scene has a love for energetic indie rock, and TW!NS delivered that perfectly on their demo release. This demo is perfectly layered between songs that make you want to just get up and dance and songs that would fit perfectly as the closing song of a coming-of-age movie. Each of the five songs come together so perfectly in this release it's hard to tell that they're all just demos. And although TW!NS no longer exists; their impact can be felt all across the Starkville music scene through bands like Bad Data and Parrot Weather."
