Few of the Materialists reviews. Celine can blame everyone, but the reality is she is responsible. She wrote this. I can't believe people at the studio were like, "Yes! Finally, a romcom that will get an Oscar!" Acting was bad. From everyone. The story was toxic. No character development. Looooong scenes. There was nothing funny in it. Her idea of love is not realistic. Going after poor guy is fine if he isn't a 40+ years old child.

PART 2: PR DAMAGE CONTROL — HOW HOLLYWOOD TRIES TO FOOL YOU (AGAIN)

So let’s say the PR relationship starts looking shaky.

Fans start noticing the weird photo ops, the lack of chemistry, the convenient timing.

The comment sections go from “Omg couple goals 😍” to “This looks so fake it’s embarrassing.”

What happens next?

The PR agency steps in with Damage Control Mode™️—and it’s a whole production.

Step 1: “You’re Just Jealous” (AKA Fan Gaslighting)

The most common trick? Make fans question their own instincts.

They’ll plant tweets, comments, and articles saying:

• “You don’t know them. You’re just jealous.”

• “They deserve privacy, why are you so obsessed?”

• “They look happy, stop ruining it.”

🔍 But ask yourself:

Why is a totally “private” couple being photographed holding hands on an empty hiking trail… by paparazzi?

Step 2: Clean the Timeline

Suddenly:

• Old photos vanish

• Rumors are denied without being addressed

• “Sources” confirm everything’s fine

They use soft media (People Mag, Us Weekly, DeuxMoi) to create noise, distraction, or watered-down “updates.”

They want you to forget what you saw. To second-guess what you felt.

“It wasn’t fake… it was just misunderstood.”

No. It was managed, start to finish.

Step 3: The “Wholesome Reset”

After fans start pushing back, PR pivots to Image Rehab:

• A surprise charity event

• A cute dog post

• An old interview clip about their humble childhood

This is reputation CPR. It distracts from the fake relationship by reminding fans:

“Hey, remember why you liked them in the first place?”

Don’t fall for the soft-focus filter. The manipulation didn’t stop—it just got cozier.

Step 4: The Quiet Dump

Here’s the final PR magic trick: disappearing the relationship without consequences.

• No breakup announcement

• No drama

• Just… gone.

Back to “private” life. A clean slate for the next project.

The PR machine expects you to forget it ever happened.

No closure. No accountability. Just another fake “romance” added to the pile.

Why does it matter?

Because YOU, the fan, are being used.

• Your likes, reblogs, and engagement = free marketing

• Your trust = their reputation

• Your silence = their power

Everything about him is staged/rehearsed. He was acting way too much at this premiere, and interesting he was around his fans a lot more compared to other times. Usually he almost ignores them, or he he is 'too busy' I think thats an excuse for him to not interact with is fans. This time he was around them a lot more, and I dont think its natural. CHRIS & ABBA’S LATEST PR STUNT & THE VISIBLE ENDGAME OF THE PR STRATEGY or… “WILL YOU JUST GET OVER IT ALREADY? IT HAS BEEN TWO FREAKING YEARS”…

Recap of recent events: 

Yesterday was the premiere of Red One in Berlin. Go Germany. Chris didn’t walk the red carpet before Dwayne as he was supposed to, arrived late with his wife, walked the carpet (after almost missing it) without her, played with the precious very ostentatiously for the cameras, she and Chris shared a moment together as they hugged and she gave him a look of... disgust(?). Then they were filmed sitting together for the movie and Chris seemed angry/pissed(?) at her as he gestures, seemingly does a nervous tick by pressing on his glasses and she rolls her head… #couplegoals LOL

Side note: kudos to the PR agent sitting next to Abba for her clapping as it seemingly helped indicate to her she was supposed to applaud her loving husband and also served as miraculous blocking from this angle, to show us only what they want us to see. 

She was always going to be there…

I have been asked many times if I thought Abba would show up at the premiere. And I always answered that I was 50/50 on the matter. When we learned that it was actually Justin who arranged that podcast for her, I was leaning towards no. Because why would she feel the need to go on a podcast no one asked for, if she was going to get the exposure of a big Hollywood premiere soon, right? Then we got the Avengers’ PR stunt where they endorsed Kamala Harris and Chris was flashing his ringless hand so ostentatiously. And then I immediately thought, of course she will there. Her saying her marriage year was terrible coupled with his non wearing his wedding ring was meant to manipulate his fans into thinking the end was near and like always to add shock value to their next PR stunt. 

And of course she was going to be there, this is actually a big part of why he did this PR stunt in the first place. He wanted the world to know he was a married man and there is no better platform than a Hollywood event to push a narrative… even when you push it as discreetly as you can so that you don’t offend your fandom and the general public any further…

Why did we get a remake of what happened at the Ghosted premiere and what does this mean?

If people remember the Ghosted Premiere, they did not walk together as they infamously made their red carpet debut for the Vanity Fair party. At the time, I theorized that the reason they didn’t was because they wanted to ease his fans in as they knew there was quite a lot of backlash from his fans but also from the general public. I still think that was the case but it’s even more obvious after today’s stunt, as this was a win-win for Chris. He gets to sell the married man brand he is craving so desperately while putting his kinda wife in a corner.  Go Berlin! She gets to come but has to make sure she is not seen too much as her presence could offend his fans and a part of the general public and more importantly have an impact on his movie’s box office and his career more generally speaking. And look how his “fans” take this as a victory… 

But it’s not, it’s just more manipulation and gaslighting on Chris and his team’s part. 

Because clearly all the content of the 2 of them was not meant for the general public but destined to his fandom. And as you can see they didn’t make it to the Just Jared article this time. But they did get to sell the “we are real and private/we are just PR” narrative. Badly like always because it’s the point.

But now we finally get a clearer sense of why Abba felt the need to go on a podcast no one cared about for the first edition of a small festival that got little to no media coverage! She is basically reduced to a prop that has basically no voice or agency but is taken out for minimal lowkey PR stunts when it’s absolutely necessary. But since she a Nazi sex worker, I am guessing we should all be ok with this. But more on that later. 

The latest appearance of the precious ring and its use from a PR standpoint… 

I have already discussed the ring profusely and even recently when he went to the walk of fame for Kevin Feige. Here are a couple of posts where I give my 2 cents about it.

Before I dive into the latest shenanigans with the precious, it’s important to note that playing with wedding rings is very “in” right now. And so what Chris did last night was textbook CAA. Just look at what Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck recently did with theirs or even more ridiculously how Dakota flashed her engagement ring during an arranged papwalk.

As people have pointed out, the ring is way too big, isn’t it? And clearly that’s the whole point since it feeds the “it’s only PR” narrative, isn’t it? But that’s not even the most interesting part about this little clip. Look at where the fans are on this video, then pay closer attention to the camera placement. Can you see how much emphasis the person who is filming (not a fan) is putting on the loose ring and how CURATED this all is?

And now look at Chris playing with his ring so naturally and organically (sarcasm) as the photographers are taking his picture.

They want you to see it, they are showing it to you, as ostentatiously as it gets. Even when Chris plays the game of “hide the ring”, it is to draw more attention to it while trying to gain sympathy from fans who are so desperate to see a glimmer of regret in his demeanor. 

The programmed obsolescence of Team Real/Team PR and the endgame of the PR strategy 

I have discussed months ago, how this strategy of “divide and conquer” which was symbolized by the discourse and fighting between Team Real and Team PR was just a starting point. A PR strategy can only be understood and appreciated when it can be analyzed in the long run. Those 2 trolling teams were the loud extremist voices that were obnoxious and repulsive enough (in their tone or rhetoric) to drive fans away from them and the narratives they were selling, paving the way for the more reasoned and rational Team Middle. I wrote a post about it if you want to check it out. 

As Team PR and team Real have become completely redundant, all that is left is the narrative Team Middle are pushing. Notice how they purposefully keep blurring the line to disorient (classic manipulation tactics by the way) and make people accept what they are selling. And today they might distract you with the loose ring, the presence of her relatives, the not walking the red carpet together or taking pictures together (but just you wait for the NY premiere as it is just around the corner), their bad body language around each other, the awkwardness and coolness of their exchanges, her cheap outfit while he is dressed in designer clothes by his scientologist and rapist apologist stylist, or they will point out as over the top and fake he was in his reactions at the premiere and I could go on and on… All of this is true BUT it is all a distraction and misdirection. 

As they have pointed out repeatedly, it has been two years, so you should just accept it or move on. The fandom no longer needs your services if you are not capable of enjoying the content they “so kindly” provide for you. They will feed you the crumbs showing how fake it is to appease you and to distract from Chris’ complicity and manipulation as long as you behave. 

The seemingly counterintuitive promoting of this girl by plants, their vicious trolling and what purposes it serves..

So many plants allegedly hate Abba but talk about her constantly. The amount of attention she is getting from them seems incommensurable. Like posting her numbers religiously or obsessing about what she is wearing and so forth.

If it weren’t for them we would hear very little about her. For example, we would have known she was going to do a podcast in her home country only after she posted about it and not a long time before hand. It's also important to note that most of the time she is mentioned, it is in a very negative way as they usually make fun of her and humiliate her. As you know, “there is no such thing as bad publicity”. But in this instance, it’s interesting to ask ourselves why and also what purposes it serves more specifically.

Well, I have just mentioned that bad publicity is still publicly, but another key rule is: know your audience. And obviously Chris’ fandom dislikes her so intensely that talking about her in a negative way, showing animosity towards her is the smart approach to gain the trust of his fans you want to manipulate. The goal here is to paint her as an absolute villain. I am not defending her by the way as she is an awful person but she has 0 power in this story but she makes for a hell of a scapegoat in this shitshow. And indeed, people can easily project all of their disappointment, anger and negative emotions onto her in order to soothe their frustration. 

You see the industry makes you do things you don’t want to do if you let it, talent agencies are as unethical as it gets and will play an awful game if you let them, the PR wife that you selected (or agreed on) might be a POS… but at the end of the day, it’s all a reflection of your own choices and of who you are…

THE ONE WHERE SHE SOLD THE SAME NARRATIVE AS HER KINDA HUSBAND…

Recap of recent events: Abba Batista went to the Tribeca Film Festival in Lisbon this past weekend, where she also participated in a podcast set up by her soulmate Justin to talk about her miserable 2023, her need to be forgotten and the toxicity of social media among other topics…

Many mods have been focusing on the outrageousness and hypocrisy of her claims, seemingly missing the main point of what she said. Although, I strongly suspect that some and more precisely Team blogs have done so purposefully for misdirection. Clearly she did what she was supposed to do well enough. Let’s take a look at what objectives this podcast served. 

ATTENTION

The main reason, she went to this festival and did that podcast is for attention and clout. Despite the grotesque claim she wants to be forgotten, she went to a Festival where she had no movie to promote and did a podcast her soulmate arranged himself. 

Sidenote: whether CAA had a hand in her being there or not is beside the point because clearly they could have shut it down if they had chosen to.

ENGAGMENT

What she said seems to have angered quite a few people. I won’t go into details as many mods have already discussed it profusely. But I will say it was likely the whole point because enraging and riling people up was meant to make them more involved and create more engagement for them. And clearly, her latest contribution seems to have awoken a decimated and exhausted fandom after having been the victim of manipulation, trolling, gaslighting and demonizing. 

SEEDS FOR A BUA

Not coincidentally, she painted a picture very similar to what Chris did back in July when he gave all those interviews for the dog food brand.

Remember when he implied she was depressed and Dodger had to comfort her. She basically sold the same narrative, minus the dog and planting the seeds for their separation. I am not saying a break up announcement is imminent by the way. Who knows when it will come but the seeds are there, aren’t they? Her being lonely and miserable away from her home country! Her being a victim of fan toxicity! I have written a post about how fans will likely take the blame for the separation as well. Unfortunately the toxic fan narrative has been pushed by Chris, his family, his team and even by… Nicole Yvette Brown.

Which Chris is the real one?

The amount of disorienting content

In the last few days, we have had quite a lot of Chris content: the award video, the one for the Olympian, the 2 pics including the one that’s so very clearly photoshopped while the other is allegedly very recent.

The most important observation regarding this latest barrage of content is that Chris has looked extremely different (weight, hair color/length, beard color/length, practical hat to conceal hair) on those 4 occasions which is definitely not organic whereas the release of content has been very meticulous and purposeful.

Reminiscent of another stunt…

By the way doesn’t it ring any bell? Doesn’t it remind you of the pics of them in Lisbon that were released just before his con in Seattle? One looked real but was probably old while the other with Joana and a guy who had his hand on Alba’s ass looks ridiculously photoshopped.

Purposeful disorienting content and classic manipulation technique

This content has clearly been disorienting on purpose and this is likely enabling them to achieve a couple of goals.

The first objective is to get people to talk and to keep them engaged. Desperate, much?

We have Team Real and Team PR fighting over what is real or not, what is recent or not as they are trying to keep you distracted and entertained.

Disorienting people is also used in order to make sure people stop asking questions. When people can’t make sense of something that clearly doesn’t make any sense, they just stop trying to figure it out. And then they will be more prone to believe whatever bullshit they are being fed.

A LOT OF CHRIS’ RECENT PR ISSUES ACTUALLY FALLS ON HIM…

I won’t go as far as some plants from Team Middle/Real who have defended the unfamous talent agency as CAA has proved to be as shady as it gets and that’s putting it mildly but a lot of Chris’ current issues PR wise can be attributed to his own doing and likely input. And I am not even talking about the fact that Chris has signed off on all of this PR rebranding and the tactics used to achieve it since he is the client and actually pays for their expertise and services.

The cringe and alienating content they shoved down our throats…

Some people have drawn the parallel between Chris and Alba’s shitshow with Seb’s former shitshow with Ale, and rightfully so. As clearly, CAA’s stamp is all over some of the content they shoved down our throats. Here are a few examples of pictures that show all the similarities.

However I would argue that the scare videos were very probably Chris and Scott’s idea. And it sure was a good idea originally. During Covid, so many celebrities were desperate to stay in the public eye and their scare videos were a cute way to get some good attention as this banter between two siblings living together during hard times was quite entertaining. At least it was for a while until it felt quite forced. It is still puzzling to me that anyone (Chris?) thought it would be a good idea to have him do the same thing with Alba. As if the dynamic between 2 romantic partners resembled the dynamic existing between two siblings? How didn’t anyone say that the optics of an immature middle aged man play silly games with his teenage looking girlfriend were not only atrocious but humiliating for both participants? And the general public deserved a lot better than this horrifying & badly acted spectacle that turned a lot of people against them right from the start.

The duplicity of playing the victim card to feed the discourse/save face with his fans

I have already talked about this aspect profusely in several posts including these:

Chris has been more than complicit in the little games that has been played at the expense of his fans. He might genuinely dislike her or be depressed but obviously he is an actor and he CAN act. And he did manage to do a much better job at selling their relationship at the Vanity Fair party for their debut when he wanted to for example. So of course, it’s safe to assume he has not only tried to feed the discourse but also tried to gain sympathy from his fans as he has looked purposefully miserable to the point where it was over the top. Do people remember the first pap pictures that were released when he was on the set of The Materialists? He looked so down, sour and miserable but it was short-lived as he then looked ridiculously happy and was smiling from ear to ear and laughing on the barrage of onset pictures we got afterwards. Ad nauseum I should add, which also shows how curated and manufactured it all was.

Side note: I believe that the backlash would not have been this extensive if Chris and Alba had both tried to sell the puppy love better but I suspect the relationship between them was always designed and meant to be controversial to give Chris some much needed edge. I might develop this aspect in another post. 

The crisis of the signing of the inert object and the disastrous PR response

The crisis that resulted from John Cusack posting the picture of Chris signing an inert object was poorly handled to say the least and I suspect it falls exclusively on Chris, for the sole reason that a PR firm would have never handled that crisis in the way that it was done. 

PR 101 tells us the steps you need to take when it comes to handling a PR crisis: acknowledge the issue, own it, apologize for it and then promise a better future. There was none of that here and I suspect it was because Chris didn’t want to apologize as he felt he had done nothing wrong. I won’t discuss his merits as it’s totally irrelevant but I will say that he should have kept quiet if he truly felt that way. 

Because in the PR world, lame-ass apologies are worse than no apology. When the wife of a senate candidate rebuffs antisemitic claims by saying that one of their attorneys is a Jew… well, how can I put it? Not helpful! Drew Barrymore’s crying video after crossing the picket line? Not helpful and deleted! Ashton and Mila Kunis’ apology after defending convicted rapist and scientologist Masterson? Not helpful! However she is about to make a comeback in Knives Out 3 because this is Hollywood and nobody cares if you are a monster or a monster apologist.

To go back to Chris, he should have kept quiet about this issue because he not only drew more attention to the controversy but he also put even more emphasis on what he didn’t apologize for: his silence after being so vocal politically speaking and the backlash he received for associating with Nazis. Not a smart move.

And I suspect CAA did their best to help him by creating a much needed distraction as they basically sacrificed the movie The Materialists for good PR for Chris and Dakota, by releasing an unheard and unseen amount of onset pictures.

BuT hE iS pRiVaTe...

THE SHOWER PORN AND A FEW FICTITIOUS MYTHS…

Recently again, I have come across the fictitious myth that Alba posted her shower porn to deflect from her racist and antisemitic stuff that was uncovered by (more likely leaked to) Chris’ fandom a few days earlier. 

But I would argue that this explanation for her posting herself stripping in the shower has little to no credibility. I will explain why, share my theory about what likely went down and the clues that point to it. I will also use this opportunity to debunk a few myths that have plagued this fandom for a very long time…

Usual disclaimer: I have no insider knowledge and have 0 contact familiar with this shitshow and the protagonists.

Her posting a shower porn was likely an act of retaliation to embarrass Chris…

When someone posts their nudes online, it can be either accidental or purposeful. If the posting is purposeful, it cannot be about deflecting from an existing PR crisis for the sole reason that the distraction would only work temporarily. The thing you are trying to deflect from would come back and bite you (on the butt) very quickly AND you would have added a sex scandal to the mix. Not the greatest move. Especially when you are a woman. Men tend to go unscathed or even end up benefitting from such scandals, but it’s rarely the case for women because… double standards and misogyny, you know? 

So the reason someone would post their nudes, a sex tape or in this instance a shower porn is to find elsewhere. It is most likely to get attention. The question is: what kind of attention and from whom?

I suspect it was actually Chris’ side that leaked the receipts showing her to associate with racist/antisemitic people in what turned out to be a successful effort to silence her. The reason his team likely tried to keep her quiet is probably because she had made a couple of very costly mistakes prior to that.

What made Chris’ team want to silence her and get her under control…

Her first mistake was to post the now debunked fake yoga certificate so that she could place herself in Atlanta with Chris. It probably forced his team into damage control mode, as they had to get assistance from a yoga studio based in Atlanta and a couple of its members that helped corroborate Alba’s claims. But her most aggravating mistake was posting her mother’s age on Instagram, very shortly after people commented on the fact that Chris was closer in age to Alba’s mom than to Alba herself. It was a catastrophic move on her part because, it showed she and his team were lurking on SM, it showed how thin-skinned and rash she is and worse it drew more attention to the age difference and terrible optics of this “relationship”. 

Leaking her problematic stuff likely served as a warning shot to behave and stay quiet or else she would be destroyed. And that’s probably why she posted that shower porn, to embarrass Chris and get a semblance of revenge. I believe she felt safe doing that anyway because a marriage was already in the pipeline.

But notice that she has kept quiet since then. You can compare her SM activity before that event and after she came back to Insta, and it differs greatly. And of course, her problematic stuff never reached the general public. 

Do people remember the GQ event in Portugal where she refused to talk to the media and was said to be rude? It was most likely because that poor Nazi troll wasn’t allowed to speak. Her only job was to flash “her” ring in order to honor one of their sponsors and that was it. 

But she did manage to post a video of the rings with her soulmate Justin to try and embarrass Chris once more. 

Why a talent agency would seemingly work against its client’s best interests…

Of course, some people might think this theory has little credibility because leaking her problematic stuff doesn’t reflect on Chris well. But I believe that not only did the talent agency not mind this little problem, but they actually welcomed it. First of all, they made sure her problematic stuff never reached the general public, as this information was only destined to his fandom. But more importantly, why not charge more hours to your client to manage a crisis you have created yourself? That’s actually quite the smart savvy business model and that’s “capitalism” for you. 

It might be too cynical for some but we are talking about a company that allegedly dabbled in sex trafficking by providing actresses to a famous disgraced producer so that he could sexually assault them. They then allegedly helped cover the scandal by helping him destroy the lives of the women who dared speak up. So this shitshow, that would be kids’ stuff for them, wouldn’t it?  

Of course, such tactics have helped decrease Chris’ market value or help accelerate it but as you have noticed, all of his upcoming projects (excluding Red One) are CAA-backed, so they basically get him for cheaper. And Marvel is likely the only place where he can still get huge paychecks these days but they will get a big chunk of that anyway so basically it is a win-win situation for the talent agency. 

Of course, it’s difficult to know what is happening behind the scenes and it’s just speculation on my part but I suspect they no longer have much faith in Chris’ career and future. A few critically panned projects and commercial flops may have helped reinforce their strategy and it seems like that they are trying to squeeze as much money out of Chris as quickly as they can. 

The legend that Chris’ fandom is like the FBI is a great cover story…

Rumors are that the fandom uncovered Alba’s past and exposed her, like they have uncovered so much of Chris’ business over the years. But I suspect this is a lie. A very practical lie by the way. 

Because the legend that Chris’ fandom possesses the most amazing investigative skills has served two purposes. First of all, it has enabled the fandom to feel good about themselves as they could pat themselves on the back for being such great detectives. And yes, I would argue, it was a good thing to try to make a loyal fanbase feel good about themselves, especially when they are so easily and so often thrown under the bus. But more importantly, this legend has been used to cover the fact that this fandom has been infiltrated for years and has been fed information directly from his team. On this platform (which sponsored his NY con) and other SM platform. I have discussed it previously and have used many examples to illustrate that. 

Like a Team Real blog having a picture of Chris’ dog at the daycare center. Like a blog which made a (non)sensical U-turn from Team PR to Team Real (a very practical trajectory that I explained in a previous post) who allegedly recognized a hotel room in Finland or in… Lisbon!

Let’s talk for a second about the video Chris did in his hotel room in Lisbon for that teacher. Isn’t it amazing how quickly people found out where Chris had shot this video? Isn’t it tragic how that poor teacher allegedly had to quit her job because Chris’ crazy stalker fans harassed her? 

People would be smart to question the veracity of this story as it is likely totally fictional. It did serve at least 2 purposes. First, it helped reinforce the crazy fan narrative that has been shoved down our throats for years and more importantly it helped place Chris in Portugal, which was the whole point of this little video. His team leaked where Chris was (something they have done very often) to breadcrumb his relationship to Alba, so that his fans could connect the dots. Do people remember the first articles that came out after Chris and Alba became official? They all put so much emphasis on the fact that his fans figured it all out and put 2 and 2 together when Chris and Alba were trying so hard to be private. Because private people always breadcrumb their relationship on Social Media, don't they?

But it was nothing new for Chris as he was flirting very ostentatiously and so privately with Jenny on Twitter back in the day...

THE ONE WHERE HE SAID HER NAME

For people who aren’t aware, Chris was just interviewed on Access Hollywood where he is promoting his dog food brand and talking about his wife’s connection and relationship with “their” beloved dog. Go Portugal! 

First remark, she will no longer be known as Voldemort as it’s the first time since the start of this shitshow that he has ever said her name. Good for her and shame on him. 

Second remark, his background has been blurred for more… privacy (sarcastic coughs).

Apart from those 2 new elements, it’s pretty much the same old stuff. Let’s dig. 

THE TIMING OF THE INTERVIEW

This interview takes place at a time where Chris is gaining a lot of momentum. He just made a very talked about cameo in a huge Marvel hit. As a positive sign, he is gaining followers again, which at least looks organic whether they are real or bots or a combination of both. He is working hard, doing stunts with ASP, in order to look deserving of the Spirit of Service award he is going to receive on September 11th which, by the way, coincides with the one-year anniversary of his wedding. 

This interview is about promoting his dog food brand and their partnership with a giant retail store. Because obviously why not ride this wave of publicity, make more bucks and get more attention? Especially after that planned story on his Insta about his Deadpool cameo and the variety article that suspiciously followed so quickly after it. 

Not coincidentally, this date was supposed to be the one when a BUA was to be announced, as Team PR blogs were insisting. (By the way, that fact alone should enrage Chris’ fans as his team clearly looks in cahoots with them, as many suspected.) 

TEAM PR AND THEIR LASTEST DECEPTION

Team PR blogs have been claiming the contract expired on July 26th, that the BUA was imminent and was to happen before the end of July.

They were clearly lying like they have been lying since the start of this shitshow. Particularly about the ending which was supposed to happen after the Ghosted premiere, after the Peter Holmes interview, after he came back to Insta, after theForbes article, after the papwalk in December… …during the shooting of the Materialists… 

The fact people actually gave credence to their most recent claims is not a testament to their “cunning” manipulation techniques or people’s gullibility but to how much this fandom wants this shitshow to be over. 

As you noticed, one key and vicious member of Team PR was explaining yesterday that Chris’ wearing the ring meant nothing and “was insignificant”. How hypocritical, isn’t it?  When Team PR, Team Real & Team Middle have all been talking & trolling about the precious for months. 

Notice how those Team PR blogs are now deflecting once more with silly diversions such as dog behavior or how allegedly his family will suffer for it (oh please), or play the victim card as they are allegedly receiving threats and hate messages. All of this is meant to distract from the fact that they lied once more. And they did it for several reasons, the most important being... 

ANOTHER CLASSIC BAIT & SWITCH FOR ADDED SHOCK VALUE

We have seen this movie before and repeatedly, haven’t we? The pattern is so similar to what we have witnessed in February with the ski trip. 

And even recently, with all the time she was seen spending in her home country without him (the concert, the birthday), her furnishing an apartment in Portugal, his wearing and hiding the ring every chance he got, and more importantly the stunt at the walk of fame of Kevin Feige where she was seen to be a no show so ostentatiously… Look at how staged that was, and you will realize what the purpose for it was. 

So, what they did was to try to breadcrumb a separation once again, to build up the fans’ anticipation before pulling the rug out from under them in order to add shock value. 

Well done! But FYI the aftereffect might prove very counterproductive for Chris, as his complicity looks more and more obvious and his playing the victim card looks more and more infuriating. 

CHRIS’ COMPLICITY

Chris claimed in his SMA interview how much he hates any forms of manipulation. He should have added that he was fine with it as long as he was the one doing the manipulating.  Indeed, his complicity is absolutely undeniable.

Let’s add to this his recent shenanigans and more precisely what he did with the precious ring. I won’t go too far back and will just use 2 recent examples. 

Do people remember the Jinx commercial where he uses his pinkie to “hide” the ring as he gives food to Dodger? What he is actually doing here is to draw more attention to the ring and promote his relationship with Alba, he also looks ashamed to gain sympathy from his fans and manages to feed the discourse (real or not?) in the process. 

Isn’t it exactly what he did again for that walk of fame ceremony where he allegedly arrived without the ring (like he would forget to wear it) and then get photographed with it from every angle while his wife was a no-show?

Now let’s move on to the most interesting aspects of it all: the brand deal.

THE BRAND DEALS CONNECTED TO THIS SHITWHOW

First observation. You can see the similarity to the interview he did on The View sponsored by Jinx when he came back to Insta just in time for the Black Friday. 

I am not privy to any private information and haven’t seen the contracts but it’s safe to assume that certain businesses of his are directly connected to this shitshow for the simple reason that they have been getting an incommensurable amount of “free” publicity from many prestigious publications & media outlets. 

And by the way, it started before Alba even entered the scene. We can safely deduct Chris had already cashed in on those checks (“free” publicity) and this shitshow was also used as a payment for it. 

Because clearly, dog food and a civil engagement platform are not the “sexiest” businesses. And, the amount of media coverage those companies have been getting seems totally disproportionate compared to Chris’ status and the marketability of those businesses.

Compare this to the media coverage his fellow Avengers have been getting, like Jeremy Renner’s cigar and alcohol businesses, or Scarlett’s The Outset. 

Obviously, Chris gets to promote his businesses Jinx or ASP when he talks or breadcrumbs his relationship to Alba because this is far more selling and salacious for the media and the public. 

Sidenote, now observe the media coverage his commercial for a much “sexier” brand like Audi got, a commercial where he did not have to wear the ring by the way. 

So if you guys are enraged by this shitshow and how it is conducted, not looking at this train wreck won’t change a thing or the timeline but what might have an impact is to boycott the protagonists and the brands that are playing and manipulating you. 

THE ENDING OF THE SHITSHOW

Clearly this shitshow is long-term and won’t be ending anytime soon. And the reason for that is simple. The optics of this relationship aren’t great as he looks like her old uncle and the power imbalance is all over the place. He HAS to stay married to her for a while to give value to this relationship. 

Because clearly, he looks like another Hollywood cliché going through a midlife crisis. The only thing that could salvage a part of his public persona is to make this marriage last so that he doesn’t look like a “one-dollar Leo but without the talent”. 

In fact, it will likely last for much longer and might even escalate (DM is breadcrumbing baby rumors) because one thing appears crystal clear at this point: this marriage seems to be much more than a rebrand and a publicity stunt.

WHAT MIGHT BE COMING NEXT?

There is a rumor that Chris might be selling his LA home after he just sold his Concord house. Not so long ago it was the one in Vermont.

Like some Team PR blogs rightfully said, it was purposefully leaked to the fandom after the house had already been sold. It was a great and very smart PR move. Suddenly, Chris seemed like he was at a crossroads, like it was a new start where anything is possible. 

But as you guys noticed, the background was purposefully blurry for this interview, which gives the illusion he is private when he is really not, also puts emphasis on the crazy fan narrative (Chris has to hide to protect his family from his crazy fans) and more importantly helps to present any fabricated life he wants to the general public. It is a white canvas so to speak.
