Quick Reminder...
The COVID-19 virus has not changed
Your immune system has not changed
There is no vaccine
There is no cure
What’s Different?
Fewer government-directed restrictions
That’s literally it: fewer lockdowns, closures, and stay-at-home orders, often due to political pressure.
But COVID-19 is still here. It’s still contagious. People are still getting it. People are still dying from it. Just because it’s not as prominent in the news does not mean that this 2020 story arc has concluded!
Please
Wash your hands
Continue social distancing
Wear a face mask
Protect high-risk and vulnerable people
Self-isolate if sick, quarantine if exposed
Help flatten the curve and contain the outbreaks
Source: I am an actual contact tracer and I just got home from a very long shift where we are having to reach out to more and more and more people as they are exposed to people with positive COVID-19 tests.
Please stay safe.

Somewhere, there are orcas. I’m in my little gray house in Ohio surrounded by the stale, staticky air of winter indoors, but somewhere there are orcas. It’s an easy fact to forget. It’s easy to shrink your world to what you can see. But thankfully, somewhere, there are orcas.

I decided to copy @eaudeintegrity‘s idea and put my sketches out there as a reward for people’s donations! It’s my first time doing something like this so I hope all works fine.
Pay what you want for a PDF compilation of 24 drawings. All proceeds from the Gumroad sales will go to ActBlue (they split donations between up to 12 American bail funds for protesters)
OR, if you prefer:
donate to any other Black Lives Matter-related fund (I added a link to a list of some places to donate to the description on Gumroad),
email your receipt to [email protected]  and I will send you the PDF. (I do not always check my socials so please no DMs, emails only :) )
I will keep the sketchbook up until next Saturday (June 13th) and then pay out any proceedss to ActBlue.

Cinderella (1950) Background Art
“Mary Blair played a big part in the success of Disney’s Cinderella. Her rough color/environment sketches didn’t make it to the screen as such, nevertheless her artistic sensibilities influenced the entire production”

Copic portrait of one of my oldest OCs in my sketchbook! It was really fun designing a new outfit for him on the fly and making up color combos I haven't used before. This piece also has gold detailing that looks much better in person!

i just learned from animal crossing that pondskaters stay on top of the water by secreting an oil from their feet
that seems kinda obvious in hindsight. i always figured they were just, like, light enough to not break surface tension

I tried working in copic in my sketchbook again after doing watercolor-copic mixed media for so long and I had so much fun! The copic part of my brain was absolutely delighted to be thinking color code and layering, and I almost forgot how much I love making things up in drawings. Lines? No no. We’re painting over the sketch and eyeballing perspective. Colors off? Use your technique to remove it and layer over top to fix it! Also there’s just so much magic in underpainting? Yes this is a Copic appreciation post now.

Little copic and posca sketch of a random character that definitely ended up looking like a knockoff Tyran! I tried using posca pens to do the background gradient because I got some smaller sizes, and I’m so happy with how it turned out! I can’t wait to try out more color combos!
