I know damn well Andrew softens whenever Neil is around. He has that deadly blank aura on a regular basis, can threaten someone without a change of expression or even batting an eye. But when Neil is around, the tension leaves his shoulders, his eyes glare a little less, he moves with less sharp precision, almost gentle, the tiniest bit of softness overtaking every peice of him. Neil doesn't even have to do anything, simply being in the room is enough for that devilish edge to smooth over. He breaths easier, walks lighter, his whole world is a little calmer with just the presence of Neil Josten.

Found the post where Nora talks about Neil being demi. Sometimes the best representation comes unintentionally, the author just writing a character as they are and that ends up being recognized by the audience - that's what happened here, and it's cool to see the author not so much confirm it as acknowledge it. People can get quite nasty about aspec characters, but I haven't seen any of that in the fandom so far (I'm new so I'm sure the nastiness exists somewhere, that's inevitable, but Neil's demisexuality being accepted and respected by both the author and the fandom generally is a massive win) and it's been extremely nice.
