Ava bakes a lot. She thinks it’s fun and it’s something she hasn’t indulged in since she was a little girl baking medialunas with her mom so her dad can bring some to work with him.

With so much free time and not much to do besides catch up on all the lost sleep and find out about the world that existed beyond her Ghost peripheral, she spends a lot of time learning about YouTube and all the cool cooking videos. She starts off simply doing the premade cookies and cinnamon rolls you get at the store before graduating to asking Bill to buy cake flour and baking soda and powder. No, Bill, they’re two different things. Bill ends up bringing the round, rustic style bread with him to work to share with his coworkers and tells his classes if everyone does well on their midterm he’ll bring in some homemade Swiss rolls to celebrate.

Eventually, Ava starts giving the few people she knows (and likes) baked goods as gifts. Ava rides her bike to X Con Security Consultants to deliver some AUTHENTIC, NOT STORE BOUGHT danishes which Luis is eternally grateful for.

And Ava’s friends start showing her how to make their childhood faves. Kurt teaches her how to make little Russian snacks, Scott shows her how to bake challah bread that they then turn into French toast for breakfast, Dave makes her help him make a sweet potato casserole for Thanksgiving, and Janet lets her help in the kitchen when they make apple fritters.

Just.. Ava gets into baking and it’s fun and productive and she helps Cassie with her school’s bake sale.

Ghost's Shame Room

Ava's situtiation varies from the death of her parents to S.H.I.E.L.D's weaponized operative years.

Her ability becomes her very curse. She can not hold on to anything, anyone and first of all; herself. Against the odds, her being very altruistic for Thunderbolts (even she barely knew them, was trying to just survive and was sent to kill) shows her desire to hold onto something. I find a good inspiration there.

(And horrors for void for sure...)

i do, however, LOVE iced coffees and that felt more like bob anyway

Thunderbolts* Iced Coffee Headcannons

Bob took up the hobby of making iced coffees while the New Avengers were at work and everybody gets one every morning

It is never the same as it was the day before

Sometimes, he makes everyone their own individual drink—one that he knows that they like, or if it’s a special occasion, like a birthday, he’ll make them something really special to celebrate. 

Bob has a whole cabinet filled with all sorts of supplies—I’m talking all kinds of syrups and sweeteners and matchas.

Yelena loves to reap the rewards of this new hobby

In the past week, she’s had an iced mocha, a cookie butter iced latte with brown sugar cinnamon cold foam, a raspberry iced latte, honey cinnamon shaken espresso, a iced s'mores latte because she’d had a really bad night with a lot of bad dreams, an iced carmel macchiato, and then an iced strawberry shortcake latte on Saturday.

Bob recently made himself and Alexei pink coconut iced lattes in the afternoon, and Alexei poured a shot of vodka in it to “spice things up.”

They both enjoyed it, though. 

John is the only one who hates iced coffees. He prefers them hot.

Bob often makes him hot caramel macchiatos or Americanos

Sometimes, though, he pretends to “screw up” and gives him an iced coffee instead, which John begrudgingly accepts. 

Ava likes the coffees, but hates inconsistency, so Bucky has made an agreement with her that every day, Sunday through Friday, is the exact same—a cinnamon toast crush latte. And every Saturday, he makes her something new to try, or makes the same thing for everybody to try together. And since she’s prepared for the difference every Saturday, Ava is perfectly good with this arrangement. She had an iced strawberry shortcake latte with Yelena on Saturday, while the two made fun of John for his hot Americano instead of joining in on the fun. Eventually, John got so sick of it that he agreed to have one, and admitted he kind of liked it, which made Bob happy. 

Bucky would never have done this if it weren’t for Bob. But he loves Bob like everybody else, and he’s gonna be nice to him, goddammit. And he actually does really like the coffees, even though he didn’t expect to.

Bucky’s favorite that Bob has made so far is a honey and coffee frappe, and he did actually communicate this by telling Bob it was his favorite. This meant the world to Bob that Bucky was being so cooperative, honest and kind about Bob’s new hobby, so he often makes the coffee for Bucky, especially when he knows that he needs a pick me up. 

Other than the honey and coffee frappe, Bucky also really likes a good brown sugar vanilla iced coffee. 

Alexei drinks anything. He’ll guzzle absolutely anything and he loves everything. Bob can hand him a drink and he’ll consume the whole thing in under a minute and give Bob a wide grin and a big ole thumbs up. He doesn’t have a favorite. Everything’s his favorite, especially if he can put vodka in it.  

Sometimes, Mel stops by. Bob gives her whatever he has on hand, but if she has time, he makes her an iced strawberry syrup latte.

Valentina also comes by occasionally, but it’s more of business ordeal. Bob still offers her a coffee. Most of the time, everybody’s sitting at a table as she talks, and Bob just silently keeps pushing a maple latte towards her until she eventually takes it and drinks it. 

Damn, this makes me want some of Bob’s coffee.
