So today in confirmations we had the "halloween is demonic" talk. And well, I fully agreed that there are some nasty shit that people do on that date just because it's that date, but what I hated was that the person who gave us the talk considered everything that happened on halloween diabolic. Including children asking for candy. CHILDREN.

I mean, yeah, it had weird origins and stuff, but really? Ugh. I don't like halloween that much but this was just ridiculous.

I thought that our confirmation classes had cool teachers who weren't the overly zealous everything-is-tempting-you-to-sell-your-soul-to-satan type of catholics, but I guess I was wrong.

And this is not the first time someone stepped up to give our religion a bad name with their crappy lesson. Some weeks ago we had a chick who was like, maybe trying to tell us that it was important to love our brethen (I fully agree), but she worded in such a way that it was basically "never stand up for yourself, even if that person is hurting you emotionally or physically, it's a sin!".
