           even though he was walking off one ship to, essentially, an even larger ship the higher ceilings and wider corridors helped remy feel like he could breathe.  being tall on a space ship wasn’t as detrimental as one might think but he liked a little more overhead.  probably a side effect of growing up beneath an actual atmosphere.

         masked gaze falls upon a familiar sign.  he tilts his head to the side, then redirects his eyes down to his hand terminal.  still plenty of time to meet back up with ronan.

          “ did you know, “ wrench pokes his head in.  hand terminal aims right for the good doctor in question.  “ that a long time ago.  and i do mean, before there were colonies occupying all of space, that we made these things called band-aids? “  the clear rectangle lifts so he can show off a number of archived images he managed to dig up from the absolute bottom of the informational sphere.  “ adhesive strips you put on your owies.  and??? they were even pre-decorated.  cats, hearts, superheroes, weird yellow faces with different expressions.  some...brown swirl thing... “  that one had him shrugging.  “ much more visually pleasing than a quick and easy spray. “

despite being one of dedsec’s core members, wrench’s specialty is in robotics.  he builds.  he can absolutely hack the pants off the un, mars, or anyone in the belt but his skills are on the lower end of the spectrum.  where he excels is in building whatever it is that dedsec might need to further their plans.  he’s designed infiltration drones.  he can apply stealth technology to them.  he built most of the computers located at their headquarters on luna, including the security measures built in to the building itself.

wrench jr. is, in an expanse setting, is a hospitality / information drone meant to help tourists around lovell city.  dedsec ambushed a shipment of these new drones in the search of a way into cTOS.  once he learned all he could learn from the robot’s inner workings ( and how to apply it to their cause ), wrench repurposed the software to be his personal companion.  basically, it’s a glorified hand terminal.

wrench has a soft spot for kids.  specifically, kids getting treated well.  when he sees anything to the contrary it makes him go off the handle.  when news about mei meng hit he used every resource at his disposal to find any hints on where she could’ve been taken to, what could’ve happened, anything about ganymede.  honestly, anything he could think of that information about her would be attached to.

do not mistreat children.  he will do everything in his power to make sure karma knocks you into space.

ok.  i’m bringing my boy back.  if you see this message please know that his revamp will include a new url and a new main verse; the expanse.  a modern verse will offer an opportunity for more canon based interaction if that’s what you’d prefer.  but, for now, we’re taking hacktivism to space, baby.

          wrench hasn’t ever held down a real job unless you count that six months in college before meeting sitara and getting set up with dedsec.

          when he was a kid he sold drugs for one of his dad’s friends and kept a very small percentage of the profits for himself.  parting ways with the club and his family meant this stream of income went sideways.  his scholarship helped pay for his day to day but in terms of fun it wasn’t anything to live off of.  what he’d saved prior to that all went into various tech projects from his laptop, to various hardware projects, and even into software.

           there’d been times he thought about running scams through the internet but hadn’t ever pulled the trigger.  wrench wasn’t confident enough in the logistics of what he’d worked through.  talks of ctos had him afraid and he needed to build up a barrier to the smart system first.

          sitara helped him work through that part.  when they became friends they shared certain bits of information and found they were incredibly supplemental to one another.  she taught him how to siphon money from various corporate accounts undetected.  taking her suggestions to heart, wrench tends to steal enough to survive, save a little, and have some fun on the side.
