Hello! I hope everything is fine with you! My exercise basics are the topic of today's post! These are items that I bring with me to the gym or on a run, and they are quite useful! If you're new to exercise or don't know what to include in your gym bag, I hope this helps! I hope you enjoyed this post and let me know what your fitness must-haves are.
Earphones
I enjoy working out while listening to music, so I always bring my earbuds with me when I go to the gym! Keep an eye out for a blog post about a workout playlist coming soon! Music greatly motivates me to exercise and work harder during my workout! I only have wired earbuds, but I'm expecting to purchase some wireless earphones or headphones soon, which will be much more comfortable to wear when exercising!
Water Bottle
It's critical to stay hydrated while training and afterward, therefore I always bring a water bottle with me to the gym! You may put water, juice, or an energy drink in it! For the gym, I bring a larger water bottle so I don't have to refill it till I get home, but if you're performing a brief activity (like a run), you can bring a smaller water bottle that is easier to carry!
Workout Clothes & Trainers
For running and going to the gym, I normally wear a workout shirt, sports bra, gym leggings, and a sweater (if it's chilly). Last year, I acquired a sports bra, and it's so much better than wearing a standard bra when working out! When it comes to workouts, having top quality trainers can help you avoid injury and have a better workout! I recently purchased some Hoka running shoes, and they are quite comfortable to wear while exercising!
Fitbit

Dumbbells (DBs) – Dumbbells (DBs) are extremely versatile. A minimum of three pairs of DBs would be ideal, with a heavy set, a medium set, and a light set. I would always recommend erring on the heavy side for your heavy and medium sets because you can always use only one of them to cut weight. I would choose rubber HEX dumbbells over any other type.
Kettlebells – When used properly, the kettlebell can function as a full-fledged gym in its own right. The kettlebell is best known for the kettlebell swing, but it can also be used for a variety of exercises ranging from goblet squats to get ups and snatches. A close contender for position 3, the TRX (or rings or another brand) can help you with single leg squats and squatting in general, as well as provide a killer core workout. They can be attached to a wall or even a door, making them extremely versatile. For me, this is a must-have item that can easily be substituted for the pull-up bar.
Skipping rope – Cardio, agility, coordination, and balance in a low-cost, ultra-compact piece of equipment. The list's most efficient piece of equipment. Can't avoid it? Then study!
Medicine ball – Choose a soft, leather style. 35cm balls are ideal for core exercises, power exercises, and even assisted squats. They are not cheap, but they last forever and take up very little space – Rage Flooring – Depending on where you live, some rubber tiled flooring can please your neighbors while also keeping your deposit safe. Many exercises become more comfortable and have a lower impact as a result. 15mm interlocking rubber tiles are the best and easiest to install.
Sandbag – Sandbags are excellent for use in home gyms. Weight adjustment at a low cost
Barbell setup – The barbell and weights are at 9 because, while great, they are not always required for many people and take up a lot of space. Don't bother with 15kg plates; 10s and 5s will suffice. If you are an Olympic lifter, choose a bar with good bushings or spend the extra money on bearings. A bearing bar is not required for standard strength exercises such as squats and deadlifts. Where to buy a barbell – Eleiko if you have the money, but this is a luxury and you can get by with many others. Just make sure it doesn't have a bolt on the end.
Cardio machines – Coming in at number ten, a cardio machine is unquestionably necessary for a 5-star home gym setup. Which one, though? Your first choices are the rower or the bike, in my opinion. Rowers and bikes are 5-10 times less expensive than treadmills, take up less space when in use, and even take up less space when not in use. Rowers, especially the Concept 2, are also very simple in design, so you can't go wrong. Rowers from Concept 2 (no compromises) and bikes from Xebex fitness or Rogue for the airbike style, or Wattbike (premium) or Concept 2 for the more steady state bike. Treadmills are the ultimate luxury if you can't get outside – we prefer natural running machines like the curved Wooster.
