all the girls use 私... not surprised, but I do kind of wish queen was a 僕 girl

X, ghostblade, and dragon boy all use 俺 (dragon boy sounds more arrogant as expected lol, would be cool if he used オレ too. for ghostblade and X they just sounds older)

e-soul uses 僕, nice might also use this? I can't tell if the voiceline at 1:38 is nice or e-soul...

梅林 (meilin) means plum grove; it is used as a transliteration of Merlin. I have opted to transliterate as Maylin since I feel this is more appropriate for my OC; Maylin is typically the romanization of 美琳 (meilin), beautiful jade (and 琳 is made from the combination of 王 from 王女/Queen + 林). 美琳 is somewhat of a homophone of 梅林 as they only differ in tones.

The numbers in 03/07 (March 7th) are a reference to how in Daoism, 3 is a number associated with yang, and 7 is likewise for yin. I'm reaching hard here.

Pisces is two fish; this horoscope has favorable compatibility with Queen's Libra, balanced against her scales.

I like height difference, so she's 25cm shorter than Queen (180cm). For easy visualization:

Will post the drawing in a month or two, I am exceptionally busy at work and in my free time is eaten up by my social life. And I draw really slow. So. Please bear with me. Here's some ideas though:

Her design was made with the intention of complementing Queen: short VS long hair, red and purple VS white and gold, a hairpin contrasting a crown, and cloth in place of armor.

In combination, these features are meant to highlight her lack of martial prowess - she's not a fighter the same way other heroes are, but that's not a problem. There's more than one way to be someone's hero.

For her clothes, I drew inspiration from modern hanfu designs (AKA scrolled Taobao for a few hours).

the opening song is called inertia, which feels a little funny to me especially bc inertia (in physics) refers to an object's ability to stay at rest or in continuous motion iff there is no additional force acting upon said object - newton's first law.

but the translated song lyrics (specifically the line "I'm feeling my inertia") refer to inertia as 感受我心中的那份执着 which translates to "I'm feeling that persistence in my heart" (执着 is more like persistence than perseverance imo)

so in this case, inertia is meant to be taken as the quality or state of being unwavering, unchanging. "I'm feeling my inertia" takes on an air of stubbornness, which transitions well into the next line: 固执地我相信 lit. "stubbornly, I will believe"

ive seen a lot of ppl talk about how nice is like the stereotypical hero but i honestly think lucky cyan and e-soul embody the spirit of heroism the best. not sure if this is a can of worms i really want to start anytime soon since any analysis would feature ep1 spoilers, but may as well throw my delusions out here while i still can

i have many thoughts on dragon boy tbh but its kinda hard to articulate how i feel abt him bc i just. dont really care. based off what little i have seen from him there's potential, but it's being withheld from us. he's violent, which is not a good look, but he can be civil (see: official art of him posing for an ad).

it's the gap moe!!! it's there! but wow. they need to polish his character and stop shrouding him in mystery. i'm also curious if his markings extend under his pants? like why does he have a whole skeleton tattoo'd...

was talking abt this with a friend a while ago, but what even is loli's power? like, i was under the impression she made her suits or something, but clearly in pv2 she was able to manifest a mechanical arm over her human arm, and that's probably related to her ability...

same with ghostblade, he uses knives but we haven't exactly seen anything hinting at a supernatural element with him. maybeee something related to the prayer beads then? who knows not me
