One of my pieces for the @steddiecaz zine, based on The Seamstress by Eugene de Blaas

It was an absolute delight working on this piece for the @steddiecaz ♥️ Inspired by Herbert James Draper's 'The Lament For Icarus', please enjoy my steddie interpretation. This piece was a challenge and a major learning curve, but I wouldn't have it any other way, I am so proud of it.

One broken sled and a whole lot of chaos. [video ID below]

Various segments of the Czech para hockey national team's Veselý engaging in shenanigans during a practice session. His sled is missing the front part, a lack of foot guard leaves the stumps of his legs hanging out of the seat.

The snippets include:

Veselý approaching the camera and mimicking a fast walk with his legs as he's still seated.

Now he is walking, seat hanging off his backside as he uses both sticks as balance.

He skates behind a teammate and gets close enough to kick him in the back. His teammate falls over.

The same strategy is used on another victim.

Veselý skates next to a coach and quickly moves his legs up and down.

He gets close to a (standing) coach and kicks his skate.

An unsuccessful attempt at tackling Doležal, who keeps his composure.

Kicking coach's skate again.

He links arms with a teammate and they spin in a circle.

Another look at his walking session.

Everyone involved appears to be delighted.

And with this, I wrap up WIP Weekend with a nice clean inbox and some adorable sibling and friendship moments... and some light nerdy teasing. Thank you, my dear~!!

“Steve!” El nearly screeched, bolting away from the rest of them toward her brother, who quickly jumped away from the car to catch her in his arms and spin her around, their warm happy laughter filling the space and echoing above the hum of the crowd.

“Might wanna close your mouth, Munson, you’re gonna catch flies.” Chrissy chuckled, leaning against his side while Robin pushed his jaw closed, before she also made her way to Steve. He repeated the same process with her, pressing a firm kiss to her temple, but his eyes never left Eddie.

“Hey Bambi, nice to see so much of you.” He mouthed, eyes crinkling as they roved over the exposed skin of his formerly casted arm and leg, loudly teasing to keep up their own charade in public - just two guys who were stuck together thanks to Chrissy and Robin’s friendship and their connection between the kids, “Gondor calling for aid, Munson?”
