Day 29: Favorite Kylo Ren Moment: Kylo’s Dramatic ass on crait

The sleeping boys. 

Ben was doubtful about having children, afraid he would pass on the dark within him, so that made him a fearful father. He knew his child was strong with the Force but he couldn’t realize how his feelings affected his young son. Rey was in charge of putting their child to sleep as he was restless everytime Ben tried it, and it pained him. The day Rey had to leave for a mission to scout for force sensitives, he knew what it meant and he dreaded it. When the time for bedtime came, the usual happened: his son cried and cried, unable to sleep in his arms. With anguish about to overcome him, he remembered how his mother would gently press her forehead on his, soothing him. 

So without a second thought he did too. But it didn’t work,

His everything kept on crying, louder now. With his heart aching for his son, Ben wistfully remembered the time he would try reaching him when he was in Rey’s womb, his everything rejoiced and made Rey giggle with his restlessness. But fear of contaminating him with his darkness deterred him. 

In a last attempt, he relieved this memory through the Force, pressing again his forehead to his little one’s. 

And it worked. At once, the tiny wails subsided and his reddened face relaxed, tears of relief streamed down Ben’s cheeks.

Everytime I draw a piece like this, I just start making a story about it and it makes it easier for the idea to flow.
