Nice new album from Ty Segall right on schedule. (Always dropping at least one album per year and sometimes more.) This one doesn’t disappoint and has perhaps the most variety of any TS album. Built this little box to make editing presets on my @chaseblissaudio pedals much easier with the @disasterareadesigns DMC micro. Now I can turn the trs/midi signal on or off which is needed to edit an existing preset since you have to send a program change message to resave. Simple but effective. I saved this little baby bunny last night. Somehow he fell down into the hole outside one of our basement windows despite the fact it was covered up. Poor little guy. I heard a funny noise while in the studio and ended up discovering this little dude was trying to jump out of the hole, but it was covered and he couldn’t quite jump high enough to get out. He didn’t move at all when I opened up the cover and stayed completely still while I scooped him up. Then once I set him down, he stayed frozen for a couple minutes. Last weekend’s project: replace power cable on My beloved Hammond M-102. The old one was certainly a hazard. Also lubricated the tonewheels and scanner. Started and finished in one afternoon surprisingly. New @ponderers album is another instant classic. A bit of a departure from their earlier work, there’s a lot more synths, drum machines and vocoder throughout. It’s more electronic overall but still a wonderful blend of infectious hooks, clever lyrics, and an assortment of instruments. I think it might also be their most cohesive album since “beard, wives, denim” from 2012. Great vibes throughout the record despite being a bit more downtempo than most of their work. I think @niqueallbrook , @jay.w.watson , and @mcjamathon really tapped into something good with this release. And it sounds fantastic thanks to mixing by @tame__impala and the Pond guys. New @moog Sirin with my Mother-32 is a beautiful match. The addition of this little gem means I now have a 3 oscillator Moog mono synth with multiple filters, LFOs, EGs, plus a sequencer, and some crazy capabilities overall. Still learning a lot about what these can do together but my initial experiments have been very educational and fun. Started to dust off my old midi keyboard and then decided it needed a full on cleaning after 10+ years of use so I had to disassemble. Turns out it really needed a full cleanup. There was lots of fur and other gross dusty stuff trapped inside. Finished up a custom, 3 channel true-bypass looper this week. Fun little build that should help with my “mega Studio pedalboard” that I’ve been working on. I’ve been working on Drum tracks for my homie’s new album for the past few months. I think I’m finally done! 9 tracks that I think are really special. Charles Bradley - Black Velvet This is the only box-set I’ve ever purchased. Awesome release from @daptonerecords and @dunhamrecords. I love all the insight into the songs provided by Mr. Brenneck and the story about Charles in his younger days is just amazing. The music is expectedly fantastic and it’s provided in a delightful package complete with color photos, custom slipmat and a black, velvety box.
