having like my worst charah breakdown in recent history like ITS BAD

Okay, I’ve already watched beyond this ep in my rewatch but I gotta talk about the scene where they go on a real date in 2x01. I’m just not over the part where Chuck finishes pouring out compliments for Sarah because he thinks the world of her and just because he someone who is full of so much care for others and she is like, ‘Well, you’re not so bad yourself,’ he just gives her a sarcastic, “Please. I’m fantastic,” as a joke and jUST 

THE WAY SHE LOOKS AT HIM RIGHT THERE– JUST LOOKING LIKE SHE IS THINKING, ‘Wow, that’s just the perfect way to describe you’

and then she says, “Yeah, you are.” with such sincerity as she looks him straight in the eye to make sure he knows she is saying it with complete honesty

and he JUST

He is beaming!! He is just so used to be self-deprecating and to just being the butt end of the joke because of the way his life has turned out way different than it was supposed to even though it wasn’t even his fault  and yeah, he knows deep down that he really is meant to be something but wow it’s just been so long since someone besides his sister has propped him up and talked positively of him without some sort of pity or condescension to it. 

You can even see him drop his smile briefly like he is in a small state of disbelief that he is hearing something like this directed at him. Not only that, but it’s the person that he is so very smitten telling him that yes, she really does think he is fantastic. 

Ugh, it’s just such a good scene and I loved that he had that moment before everything went haywire again in which he and Sarah were on a real date and he was getting hear her honest feelings about him without anything weighing them down. What a GOOD scene.
