Heeey, don't call yourself stupid!

Character sprites are basically the images of your characters that pop up on the screen in a visual novel. Think of them as your cast, hanging out while their dialogue plays out.

What makes them cool is that they can change expressions (happy, sad, annoyed, etc.) or poses (crossed arms, waving, whatever fits). It's how you show their emotions or reactions without needing full-blown animation. Think of them as the actors, but in 2D form!

Using Sayori, from Doki Doki Literature Club, once again, as an example!
