HEAVYYYYYY GOLDEN RAVEN SPOILERS
No because I’m actually never gonna get over any part of tgr but ESPECIALLY not Andrew during it. Because what do you mean the trial, Jeans Speech TM, and the brawl happened in the span of a couple of months. What do you mean Neil walked up the steps with Kevin. What do you mean Wymack held Andrew back as he and his limp arm dragged his way to Neil. What do you mean he had to watch it all. What do you mean said injury is probably the only reason he walked away without a murder charge (because he definitely would have killed Lane if he had two available arms). What do you mean he had to have surgery. WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE WAS BEDRIDDEN FOR A PERIOD OF TIME.
Aaron drove the maserati, Andrew quit smoking, and Neil bruised two ribs and I NEED a bonus chapter or something because there is no possibility in the future of my entire life that I will be able to rest with this knowledge and nothing else.

One of my favorite parts of aftg is when it switches from Andrew and Kevin co-parenting Neil to Andrew and Neil co-parenting Kevin.

My favorite thing about Neil in any socmed au is the fact that his tweets are best read in the voice of an annoyed sorority girl.

The most iconic thing about Neil is the fact that his #1 character trait is being good at staying alive, and his #2 is being really, really bad at it.

Is anyone else like really obsessed with the public/press in the aftg universe. Like when anything ever happens I want to know what they think so fucking badly. Like yes, they freaked out when they learned Neil was the butchers son, but I want more than that. I need to see the exact news coverage on it, like word for word. Also when the nest’s corruption comes out …what are the video essays like?? Are there complications of Raven clips that people use to disprove or prove the rumors? What about the midwestern dads who probably watch this, what are their thoughts Riko “committing suicide”????

I always think about how we saw Andrew at one of the lowest points in his life. Like after thanksgiving, getting sober, and Proust (a reminder of everything that had ever happened to him), Andrew was probably near the most raw, unforgiving, and volatile he could ever be. Add that to the harsh personal contrast of how relatively calm his life was right before; it's safe to say we saw Andrew at his worst.
So when people say things like Andrew bottoming (something Nora said he one day does in the ec) don't make sense, or just overall say things that imply Andrew is exactly like how we see him for the rest of his life, it kills me. Because we saw him at one of the worst points in his life, but more importantly we saw him get given the tools and the people to heal. So yes, he's always gonna be rude as fuck and generally off putting, but he's gonna grow and transform in ways we couldn't imagine. He'll always have trauma, and his outlook will always be influenced by it, but he was a teenager in those books, and he has an entire life to live and heal with Neil and Bee and yes, Aaron.
Aftg is about overcoming trauma, and it doesn't necessarily focus on the healing part of that, but I still think it's one of the most important post-canon things that this fandom doesn't really talk about.

Hear me out: Neil, Andrew, and Robin as a family unit adjacent to Louis, Lestat, and Claudia (minus… everything)

full disclosure i hope jean does his time on his pro team so he can pay off the moriyamas and when he retires i hope he never goes near exy again. i hope he doesn't become a coach or a manager or anything i hope he leaves it entirely i hope he never goes to the olympics i hope he lives somewhere in california and maybe he becomes a florist or something but i hope he does something that's his for once. i hope he gets a chance to live a different part of his life that isn't tied to anything or anyone else i hope he gets to grow old and smile so much he gets laugh lines and i hope jean dies with the knowledge that while he gave his all to exy as a teenager, as an adult, it did not take his life from him it did not take away his world. he did not endure he survived. i hope he lives something that isn't exy that isn't blood and pain and loss. i hope jean moreau gets to live.

One of the hardest hitting things about aftg for me is how it talks about its mirage of horrible crimes occurring, specifically when it comes to Andrew.
Like at thanksgiving, Neil never once says the word rape. He brutally describes the scene in front of him but he never outright says what it was. Hell, I don’t think the word rape was ever once used in these books, yet it is consistently alluded to in various different ways.
When talking about Drake, Andrew (and the fandom) constantly use phrases like “a matched set” and words like “misunderstanding”, to describe something absolutely horrific. Using these words instead of labeling what is actually happening makes you 10x more sick to your stomach.
Andrew saying something like “he wanted to rape me and my twin brother” is fucking insane and it makes your jaw drop and ur stomach twist. But him saying “he wanted a matched set” is somehow just SOOO much more violent to read.
It’s like these phrasings simplify or almost mock what’s actually happening, playing down the severity of it so that the contrast makes it so much worse.
Anyway Nora you’re a genius how dare you.

For all of aftg’s tragedies, the one that gets me the most is the fact that it isn’t real and I will never see an edit of Kevin Day switching his racket.

Her peace sign was almost as iconic as the Riko Roast.
Yeah, Neil is tough for always going off on Riko when he sees him and throwing shade anytime he gets the chance. Andrew's tough for promising to protect Kevin and Neil from Riko. Kevin is tough for getting away from Riko.
But Renee Walker went to Riko's own stomping grounds to face him and take what was 'his' by force. There was no chance of her ever leaving Jean there. Nobody is as tough as her.

“Misunderstanding” made me have a violent reaction, but this theory makes a lot of sense.
I would wonder how the older brother we do know about would fit into the second one. Did he blindly follow his oldest brother? Is it a thing kind of like Lucas and Grayson where Jeremy’s second oldest brother constantly brings IT up in an effort to seem good in the oldest brother’s eyes?
If only Jeremy gave us some fucking hints.
"What if Jeremy actually did something horrible to his family."
I don't know... Because the butler is nice to Jeremy. And someone who works for rich people wouldn't be able to tolerate a rich child who did something horrible and got away with it. The butler is kind of definitive proof that Jeremy's family is in the wrong. And based on the butler trying to help Jeremy avoid his older brother, and the fact that Jeremy was who Lucas felt safest calling when Grayson hurt him, I think Jeremy's older brother is the problem.
Maybe Jeremy's older brother did something terrible to Jeremy and Jeremy's family tried to insist on sweeping it under the rug, refusing to get the law involved because they don't want their family to look bad, but his older brother did whatever it was again Jeremy's freshman year when Jeremy thought he'd be free and able to go live on campus for college, so Jeremy told... and all hell broke loose. Jeremy's family blamed him and did everything they could to bury whatever happened. Maybe if it got out, they even threw Jeremy under the bus and made it look like his fault or made it look like he was exaggerating for attention, and then to further prove their point, they made him live at home as a "Look, he has no problem with his brother and everything is perfectly fine here" thing.
Or it's still an older sibling who did something to him, but it's the missing one and that one got sent off to "heal" because the family refuses to admit that whatever he did to Jeremy was anything other than a misunderstanding or something that can be fixed if he reflects on it and just works on himself for a while.
Or maybe whatever older sibling did something to Jeremy is a cop, hence Jeremy's discomfort when he saw the group of cops (who would, like Jeremy's family, look out for Jeremy's brother and vilify Jeremy).

Probably one of my favorite aspects of the theory that Seth is Jeremy’s brother is the fact that Jean knows what actually happened to Seth. Hell, he was probably there when Riko signed his death warrant.
I know the theory is unlikely, but could you imagine Jeremy confiding about Seth to Jean, and Jean revealing what actually happened to him? Or worse, not?
