okay i put these as tags on another post BUT i think it should be a post on its own so. based on the clue that cellbit got yesterday about the middle not being the true answer, i think what the three of them found at seemingly the middle of the maze was a distraction by the federation to make them believe the eggs are fully gone. because a lot of the recent chaos and discord on the island has been caused by the eggs' disappearance, right? phil's covering of the main building, forever's bloodlust and destructive tendencies, bad's torturing of an employee. if the federation is able to make them believe the eggs are dead, that there's nothing that can be done, they likely think things will come back to normal. that the islanders will stop fighting, because nothing can be done. of course, we know that would only make them less cooperative, but it makes sense from the federation's pov to pull something like this
