thankfully, it seemed nobody had noticed their surprise visit, thank fucking god for that. and, well, if nothing had exploded yet, then obviously jinx wasn't here for malicious reasons, so why... and just like that, his question was answered before he had a chance to answer it.

"you came all the way here, risked so much bloodshed, just to do my makeup? really?" maybe it was the adrenaline pumping hard, or the absolute ridiculousness of the situation, but the realisation can't help but lull a puff of laughter.

shit, this was probably a bad idea, a really fucking bad idea-- but maybe he could humor them, just a bit, since they clearly went through all the effort to sneak in here. they'd just have to be fast before someone actually paid attention.

a few more seconds of silence, and heavy footsteps cross the floor as ekko finally takes his seat next to them with a sigh. "just be quick about it, yeah? before someone other than me finds out you're here."

greyish blue eyes blink rapidly, but surprise is quickly replaced with amusement, a chuckle vibrating from deep in his throat. "and just what do you think you're doin', huh?" with a practiced motion, vander places the glass and rag down safely, fully turning his attention towards the other, the one who seemed to very clearly be craving his own.

he makes no motion to remove valdemar's hand from him, when he could do so easily. no, instead he leans into it, corners of his lip curling as a large hand comes to gently secure itself around their wrist, giving them no chance to pull back.

and then, with a surprising amount of confidence, vander's tongue flicks out from between his lips and trails across their fingers, if only for a brief second."can't wait until i've finished cleaning before gettin' handsy with me? you should know that's a dangerous game to play."

give him a second, he's reading it-- rereading it, again and again, quite a few times actually. it's genuinely concerning just how many times the butcher's eyes are scanning across the paper.

"wha-- why the hell are you askin' that!? why do you wanna know, what business is my body mass to 'ya?" the more he speaks, the more high pitched his voice goes. wait, was he offended by this? somehow he feels if answering such a query will backfire on him. horribly so.

he's just gonna promptly tear up the anon's question and slam it down on the counter with a frightening sound. "it's none of your damn business. that's your answer."
