Bowen was lying back with her arm above her head, Brandon tattooing an intricate design over her ribcage as she winced and tried not to fidget too much. “Tell me, dude, why didn’t you fucking warn me how much this one was going to hurt?” she asked, grimacing lightly and clenching the hand above her head into a fist as she spoke. “I don’t know if I can forgive you for this one,” she added with a huff of breath. She wasn’t serious, however—and she and Brandon rarely were with each other.
